I recently needed a mold remediation guy. I was referred to Nico's by a building inspector who said "I would trust Nico". I called Nico and he returned my call right away. He spent about 20 minutes over the phone with me, was very patient and gave me an education about mold. I checked out his website, license and yelp reviews. I was surprised his yelp reviews were 5 stars!!!! They mainly were about his carpet business though. I gave him the job based on the inspector's comment and was very pleased with Nico. He and his crew arrived on time for the job, was very professional, and did the job well. I had to call him a few times during the project. He always returned my phone calls promptly, addressed my questions and concerns politely, and has great people skills. He reminds me of the energizer bunny that goes on and on and on. I hired Francisco Javier Langarica, a sub contractor with the company, as per what I was told. To do an additional restroom in a bedroom and other remodeling in my home. He Always left details unfinished... gave him 3000$ for the next job... called him several times to ask when he was coming back to finish the details he left unfinished and start other job... he reassured me he would come back to that he had "family problems ". They did a wonderful job for me! It was a small job by most construction standards, less than $5000. Because of that, I had trouble getting someone to do the work. Nico's showed up on time, worked in a timely fashion, and did a great job. Part of the job was to remove a massive old mirror that was glued to the wall. They got it off the wall and out the door without a break or a single shard of glass. They removed the glue from the wall and patched everything to make it paint ready. I would rate Nicos a -10 if I could. We live in a world of scammers and cheats, which describes Nico. He was hired to do a job for me but scammed me out of over $3,000.00 He refuses to return my money. Situation: He was hired to fix holes in a cement wall and install drainage pipes in a planter. He removed just enough dirt from planter to give impression work was done but nothing was done. No pipes installed, no holes repaired! I contacted CSLB (contractor licensing) and their investigation confirmed my allegations but they can't force him to return my money. They can only put on his record (bond/license) and censure if future complaints! He ALSO fraudulently used someone else's license number at the time of my job (he has since gotten his own license). That other person does not even know Nico at all..Please verify all noted here and don't hire this crook (check CSLB California State Contactor's Board". That other license holder will be seeking action against Nicos for fraudulent license using. read more

Apparently they this guy does not understand how to effectively run his own business. The appointment was supposed to start at 8:30 and his employees arrived after 11am. As someone that doesn't usually need this type of service I expect to be informed of how the repair would happen and what I needed to do beforehand. Not only were they late, the owner calls and berates the paying customer about his employees having to produce 5-6 inches of carpet strips and how said employees never advised him they were headed to a carpet store for the carpet. Changed the rate after this without ever informing us of where the carpet would come from when pictures were provided prior to the appointment and wants it venmoed. After all is said and done he calls again to berate the customer about the situation. The employees themselves were respectful and completed the job required once they had the materials. Needless to say we will be looking elsewhere for a professional cleaning service and hope you save yourself the trouble as well. I am also not into hurting small business but when you harass my family you best believe I will not let that slide without consequence. This review will remain here for eternity. We needed our Living Room carpet cleaned as we are in the process of selling our home. Most of the places that had special pricing will not come out to do one room. Nico had no issue with doing only one room. Their price was reasonable and we made an appointment for Saturday between 10 Am and 11 AM. They wanted to come sooner and called my wife to see if it was okay. Once they came they moved our furniture and cleaned the carpet., The carpet looked brand new when they finished.
