I saw Dr. Vecchi twice within one week for symptoms including an acidic stomach, loss of appetite, headaches, nausea, and fatigue. No blood tests were ordered. I was told I had a sinus infection and was advised to drink a lot of water. After following this advice, the next day at work I suddenly became extremely weak and experienced blurry vision. My husband took me to the emergency room instead of returning to her clinic. Blood tests were done immediately, and I was admitted to the ICU due to hyponatremia (low sodium levels in my blood). The hospital staff told me the timing was critical and that they saved my life. This happened seven years ago. I'm sharing my experience now so others can be aware and advocate for themselves if their symptoms persist or worsen. read more

I called 2 months ago to make an appt to see Dr Nicole in Milpitas and waited until today for my app at 3PM. I called to verify my appt time and was told my app is in San Jose with Dr Dinh. If I could give this place a 0 i would because i have just experienced the most rudest person at the office. I tried to called since 4/18/23 to book for the physical exam because i needed doctor to sign the form for my school. I called so many times and left voicemails multiple times yet no answer so i thought i would give it time. Since then i kept calling but no one's answered. Today i decided to go there and one of the receptionist asian girl helped me. I asked her if the phone at their office is not working and I tried to explain to her that ive been calling so many time. She answered" our phone system changed 3 months ago and i dont know why we don't receive your calls" so i told her lemme try to call you guys now and apparently the phone rings! Then I asked her to schedule me the earliest appointment because i really needed the physical form to be signed by the doctor and she said what i need is not urgent, the earliest they have is end of June,2023. She also added" if this is urgent to you, you would have drove to our office by now" also she informed me that dr.Vecchi is currently on medical leave and have to returning date! She would need to schedule me to see someone else! That moment, i was so shocked with her answer and think how unprofessional of this place is? I read the good reviews of Dr. Vecchi. My wife and I thought she would be a good choice. Unfortunately, we were wrong and I now do not agree with the reviews or approve of this Doctor. When my wife was suffering from an unknown intestinal ailment and tried to make an appointment with Dr. Vecchi' s office, there was no help, mercy or empathy. They would not make the appointment due to fears that the symptoms were too similar to Covid-19. My wife had received a negative Covid test and Dr. Vechhi's office still said that she would not be permitted to enter their office due to fears of being contagious. They suggested she visit an urgent care facility instead. She had stomach pains, a low grade fever of 100.4° and diarrhea. Such a poor example of how a Doctor and her staff should treat a patient. It was a simple bacterial infection. I could only imagine that any care from this Doctor would have been substandard, uncaring and incorrect. Do not get sick while under this Doctor's care as you will not be treated with respect, dignity or compassion! read more

Dr. Vecchi herself is not a bad doctor. She is professional, seems nice, and insightful. However, I am not at all happy about her front staff members. Don't call anytime around lunch time. The front staff takes long lunch breaks and won't pick up the phone. They also hardly call back afterwards. I had to call several times throughout the day just to get a hold of someone. When they do pick-up, the main front desk person is not very helpful or professional. They'll tell me to call back because they're on lunch, someone is out, or some other excuse of why they can't answer my question or get back to me. The office is closed on weekends, and the Doctor and the nurse always seem to be on vacation when I need a medical check-up or appointment for something. I think Dr. Vecchi is an alright doctor, but her font desk team makes me upset. Scheduling an appointment or requesting paperwork is very troublesome. read more

Dr. Vecchi's staff is very professional and friendly. Registration as a new patient was painless and quick. From the beginning, Nurse Joann put me at ease with her quick wit and friendly attitude. The office and exam room areas are spotless (it's inside a home) and airy and well lit. Temperature was comfortable too - I hate cold exam rooms when all that stands between you and the cold air is a sheet of paper craftily made to resemble an article of clothing!!! Dr. Vecchi was an absolute delight - I felt like she had been my doctor for years - I never felt tentative or awkward at all. She is very attentive and listens carefully to everything you say. As soon as I mentioned something relevant, she would ask quick, to the point follow up questions and quickly arrive at a conclusion. She is also very thorough - my regular physical exam took almost an hour (including the prep with the nurse) and I felt that I had received a good examination and clean bill of health. Dr. Nicole Vecchi and her staff are awesome. I highly recommend her as a main doctor. My husband and I have been a patient of hers for almost 10 years. She is very warm, attentive, patient, and gentle. She is easy to talk to and makes us feel relaxed and comfortable during each visit. Prior to seeing Dr. Vecchi, both my husband and I had a slight fear of seeing doctors. Just the thought of needles and the cold, rough hands of a doctor would make us cringe. Ever since we transferred to her practice, we look forward to our annual checkups and seeing her when we don't feel good at all. Last Thursday my husband had an unbearable earache so he called to make a same day appointment. Unfortunately, Dr. Vecchi was off for the day so he went to see my parent's practioner instead. After being seen, my husband felt that my parent's doctor didn't really do his job and that he felt rushed out of the room. All he did was look at his ears and gave him a prescription to an ear cleaner and referred him to an ear specialist (who is out on vacation until January). His ears still continued to bother him. The very next day, he went to see Dr. Vecchi. Dr. Vecchi examined his ears closely and thoroughly. She used a powerful pressuring tool to clean his ears. After that, the pain had gone away and he was able to hear clearly. Our positive experiences are one of the reasons why we both love Dr. Vecchi. She doesn't take shortcuts at all. She really takes care of her patients and answers all their questions and concerns. She's not the type of doctor that will scold her patients and make them feel bad. Her office is always busy and full of patients. Sometimes it may seem difficult to see her when she's fully booked for the day, but her and her staff always try to find ways to squeeze you in (depending on the severity of your symptoms). On occasion, there is a slight lengthy wait time (even if you have an appointment) because she's busy giving a thorough explanation of a diagnosis which is understandable. Dr. Vecchi is amazing! Thank you Yelp for guiding me to her. What a gifted & caring Saint she is! I was w/ Kaiser for the first 22 yrs of my life & when I got insurance via my employer, it was frustrating trying to find a a good doctor because they all had to be "in network" or you face out of pocket cost. (I filled endless amounts of "new patient" forms @ different M.D's office & all experienced that they were either too busy to return my phone call or plainly doesn't care.) So I was fed up. I think Dr. Vecchi was my 3rd try and OO what a save!! She cares about you so much that she makes sure you are 110% healthy. The attention she gives you during your appointment is amazing: she talks & treat you like you are her only patient & she's doesn't have the attitude of "next patient" or rushes your appointment. I can write a book about all the wonderful things about her (but I believe I have limited space). In short, she really cares about you, she will return your phone call w/in 15mins if you call her after hours. And the next day, she calls you again to check how you are doing. If you are sick, she will get to the bottom of it (include sending you to specialists & working w/them) and in the end, she gets satisfaction that you are fine. Only down side, if you're appointment is at 10:30am, you won't see her until 30-45mins later. I think it's because she really takes her time w/ each of her patient. read more

I wanted to make an appointment with a doctor from PAMF, but the doctor I wanted wouldn't be available until July this year so I decided to go to Dr. Vecchi. This visit was mainly a yearly check up, but I also have an enigmatic heart issue that no doctor has been able to figure out. I was also sick at the time I went (this is what happens when you go to jury duty for the first time) and was hoping to get some type of antibiotics due to having orange phlegm. The nurse was very nice and we talked a little about my background as well as the weather since it was raining. Dr. Vecchi is also a very nice woman and was very concerned about my heart issue. I had to do an EKG during my visit with the nurse, but nothing showed up as usual. The office is in a small house, similar to what I'm used to before I moved here but it's kind of hard to find. I would suggest using Google Maps to look at where/what the building looks like so you don't miss it. Parking is available behind the building but there are not that many spots. When I went in for my morning appointment, there was only one spot left which I luckily parked in. Overall, my visit was fine but this is an old school place (i.e. you won't be able to make appointments or look at test results online, etc). read more

Just want to thank Yelp for helping me find such a great doctor, which was long over due. I've been avoiding visiting the doctor's office because I wasn't able to find a reliable doctor who I can really trust. I read lots of great reviews off of Yelp and decided to schedule an appointment to see her. After being a patient for the last 4 months I can safely say, I'm happy being one of her patients. Dr. Vecchi is very kind, gentle and attentive. She listens to everything your worried about and will softly tell you that you have nothing to worry about. Her support staff are also great people. The front desk associate is so sweet, I heart her. She always welcomes me with a smile. The assistant who takes my blood pressure is always a sweet heart. I think she has a crush on my bf, she always tells me how handsome he is! hahaha Unfortunately, after my last visit I did overhear the receptionist telling someone on the phone that Dr. Vecchi wasn't taking anymore new patients...so, if you're trying to find a new doctor, I'd recommend calling in first to find out if she's taking anymore new patients. read more

Hopefully this review won't be too biased since Dr. Vecchi is a family friend, but I've gone to other family doctors, and I can objectively say that she's the best PCP! Her examinations are pretty thorough and she makes you comfortable enough for you to ask all of your medical questions, no matter how silly you feel they are. She's also very attentive and cares for you from beginning until the end from whatever you have to go through. For example, I found out I had scoliosis when I was about 12 and she made sure my parents were punctual with all the necessary steps to treat the problem. Years after that, she still checks up on that problem to make sure it's taken care of. Dr. Vecchi is not afraid to scold you neglecting crucial steps to taken care of yourself. She's also very good at returning your phone calls. You can even leave messages for her after office hours and she'll return them promptly if needed. The office staff is also a joy to work with. Virgina, the receptionist, is very meticulous, organized and knowledgeable. Lisa, the staff accountant, is super friendly and knows her way through with the yucky, complicated medical insurance maze. Natalie, the office manager, is very polite, assertive, and knows how to be on top of things. Lastly, there's Joann, the medical assistant, who is the most genuine person out there. Very caring and makes you feel at ease when she's collecting your vitals. The office can be pretty busy since Dr. Vecchi's husband, Dr. Nguyen, shares the same space. It's not such a big deal since you are taken care of very well in the end. Scheduling an appointment can be a bit tricky since Dr. Vecchi works around the needs of her family first (a doctor and a mother who can be on top of it all? NOICE!). It's too bad that I have to switch over to Kaiser due to a change in insurance, but I'd definitely choose her again if I ever had the chance. read more

During the appt, she reviewed the cdc website for needed vaccinations and prescribed pre-cautious medications, which stretched to her entire lunch time to do it. Really appreciate that! Cons: 1. Dr. Vecchi is a great doctor. She takes time to make sure you understand everything and listens to your questions without making you feel rushed. I have been very happy with her. I can always get an appt. when I need it. Sometimes when she is on vacation, it's a little tricky getting help, though. The only downside is that her front desk staff is beyond unprofessional. How many doctor's office receptionists answer the phone with just, "Hello?" I have had complaints/comments from other doctor's offices asking to have files transferred, etc. -- they said they couldn't make it understood what they wanted. I have been a patient of Dr Nicole Thanh-Cam Vecchi since 2002. She is by far the best internist and medical doctor I have ever had seen. I have a complex medical condition; which requires ongoing invasive treatments and hospital stays and I have seen many doctors over the years. Dr. Vecchi has been my PCP since 2002 and seen my condition progress and she and all of her office staff have been there to assist me the entire time, thirteen plus years. She is extremely knowledgable about the newer therapies and what I find most incredible about her is her willingness to learn and read the new studies. If I bring her journal articles about my condition she will read and research the new ideas, and she will always discuss alternatives to standard western medicine. Dr. Vecchi approaches the problem from a whole, looking at all sides and that is why she is my doctor of choice for 13 years. I have moved to Hollister and it is a two hour drive to her office but I still go to see her because she and her staff are that good. It is true that her staff does not answer phone calls during their lunch break and in my opinion that is very appropriate. In fact, that is proof of the kind of doctor she is by protecting her staff by not allowing them to work through their lunch hours. During their work hours her staff goes out of their way to make sure I get copies of all my medical records and tests results. Her staff members are quite knowledgable about working with me to get the correct referrals, to get highly complex procedures approved and general problem solve issues that arise with a complex medical condition like mine. The negative reviews I have seen about this office seem to come from people who do not understand that as a patient, they have a responsibility in their own care to make it successful. Dr. Vecchi works closes with her staff to make sure they follow through on paper work and reports. I want to stress the staff does the work they are supposed to do, However there is a responsibility of the patient to request records and keep track of your own medical care. I can tell you that my experience with Dr. Vecchi and the office staff is that they go above and beyond to make sure all of my requests for records are sent in a timely manner, that all my test results are forwarded to me for my own files and that they work with me to make sure my procedures are approved by my insurance company. Dr. Vecchi and I have an open and honest dialoge about my condition in every interaction and that is rare and remarkable in the health care industry and it is why I will change insurances to make sure I keep her as my PCP and why I will gladly drive two hours to see her, because she is worth it for me and my medical care. Dr. Vecchi and her staff are professional and caring in all their interactions with me. I have a demanding and complex medical condition; which requires a lot of medical tests and preauthorizing a lot of procedures so I know how much work they do on my behalf and I greatly appreciate it. I know that because of the care I have received from Dr. Vecchi and her office staff that I my quality of life is improved. Dr. Vecchi has always shown me compassion and respect, we continue to have in depth discussions about the best possible choices for my complex condition and because she cares enough to read the studies, do the research on new therapies and engage my participation in my health care; I am alive today when other doctors told me I would not survive. Dr Vecchi has been my moms dr for many years. She is very friendly and easy to talk to. She truly cares for her pts and I respect her opinions and recommendations. Joanne is friendly and nice to chat with as well. The office does have new front desk staff members. It takes a little patience as they continue to get acclimated to all things but it's not bad at all. I have needed to leave messages from time to time during business hours and have always gotten a returned call with out any problems. I don't know what the big deal is about having to leave messages; if they are busy you either wait and listen to music as some offices will have or leave a message and go about your own business. I also appreciate that when labs are done my mom is not asked to come in just to have them read to her like some of her other doctors. They will do a mini assessment and go over the labs. $$$. Dr Vecchi or a staff member will call with the results and if you have more questions dr Vecchi will call you in a timely manner and explain it to you in a way you can understand. read more

I have seen Dr. Vecchi in the last eight years. She is very experienced, knowledgable and friendly. She graduated from Yale and got board certified in internal medicine. The only complaint is her incompetent staff making the administrative work very messy, like specialist referral. Also, It's hard to get prescription or anything done over the phone. One star for the front desk staff. I called the office on Wed during business hours (not lunch time) and left a message (since no one answered the phone) to request an appointment with Dr Vecchi. Three business days later, no one returned my call. This is not a first time they did not return my call. The last time, when I called and questioned why they did not return my call, the receptionist simply answered "oh, we did not get your message". I guess the only time that I can make an appointment is to speak to a real person. What is the point of having a message system but if you don't want to return a call? I like Dr Vecchi a lot and this is the reason that I have to put up with her front desk staff. I don't know how long I can put up with her receptionist. read more

Dr Vecchi was my supportive and compassionate friend and best advisor in so many occasions! when I had traumatic situations at job, when I was discovered a brain tumor, when I had to make a difficult decision whether to have surgery or another procedure, when I had to make job decisions due to my health. I've been with Dr. Vecchi for quite a few years and I love her, and her staff (Joanne and Virginia). Dr. Vecchi has clearly practiced medicine for quite a long time as she is one of the most knowledgeable doctors I know. Her exams are thorough and she makes me feel very comfortable. I have since referred my husband to her as his primary physician, and although he has not made an initial visit yet, she was able to help out with a referral to an excellent orthopedist for an emergency achilles tendon surgery. Anytime that I had a last minute emergency visit, there would be a small wait, as with any office, but she never turned me away. I felt bad b/c once I called, she said she was on her way out to pick up her kids at school but she took me in anyways. Saved my life....quite a few times really.
