Been going to Dr Joshi for more than 10+ years, very knowledgeable and friendly. Wait times are not too long for walk-ins.

Dr. Joshi is genuinely caring, observant and pays attention to detail for her patients. I highly recommend her as a doctor. She's great for primary care, and keeps her patients above factors like financial interest or just "ticking boxes" in providing care (that most other doctors do not). A-rating for the Dr. However, there are problems with the front-office staff. They often try to manage the doctor unprofessionally, instead of the other way round - while running her office. Specific problems experienced were: Doctor was running late with our appointment, and we needed the full appointment time that we paid for (out of pocket, in that instance) and I was making sure we were not exceeding our time. The uncouth staff would butt in while the doctor was taking her time to explain matters on her own volition - to push her on to the next patient. If this staff were being so diligent, they would have paid attention to the fact that the doctor was running late and prevented that. There were other issues as well, such as careless simple blood-draw from untrained staff that led to bleeding that the staff did not even notice. Disappointed Patient - Unresponsive Doctor and Unhelpful Staff I've been a patient at Dr. Jayshree Joshi's office for a year now, and while I haven't had any major issues myself, my recent experience trying to get an appointment for my husband was incredibly frustrating. Despite being established patients, the receptionist flatly refused to grant us an urgent appointment for my husband, claiming they weren't accepting new patients. This is despite him being a registered patient with her. The overall experience with the staff has been less than ideal. They come across as dismissive and unaccommodating, which is not what you expect, especially when seeking medical attention. Dr. Jayshree Joshi herself seems perpetually overbooked, making it difficult to get timely appointments even for established patients. If you're looking for a doctor's office that prioritizes patient care and accessibility, I would unfortunately not recommend her. Dr Jayashree is simply great, such an awesome person. Absolutely no complaint, love her service, only reason we come back again and again. The review is for the office staff. For one, these folks are really rude. The way they talk to the patients/visitors is just unacceptable. Heard one of the patient asking the nurse, 'can you check if thyroid is included' and the nurse was like, 'i dont know im just drawing the blood'. All she had to do was check the items and inform accordingly. Honestly, they are too lazy, very sluggish and rude. I have reading a lot of reviews and see the same complaint against the staff. Wonder why the doctor is not taking any action or make them understand to be nice to the visitors. If you are here for USCIS exam, don't go to this place. They will charge you a lot and insist that they cannot accept tests from your primary care so that you have to pay the full amount. They charged me $425, whereas other places just charge $150. Also other USCIS certified doctors accept your primary physician's medical reports. After receiving a copy, we found several mistakes in the medical form. She forgot to fill out the page with communicable disease. and even worse, she had not signed the form. This is a big problem as the entire permanent residence application will be rejected. When I told her that she had forgotten to sign, she said that it is impossible for her to forget. When I showed her the proof, she blamed it on her assistant. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. MAINLY FOR USCIS EXAMS!!! read more

Avoid, sent me a bill several years late... be warned with this doctor you will get an unexpected bill several years advance. Document all your bills and don't visit this doctor. Be ready for when several years down the line they send you a surprise bill, out of the blue to collect money. Dr Jayshree joshi is our family physician for about 6 years. As a physician she and her team is best! Front desk can be better but I know given the volume of calls and people they are doing their best. I never had issues with getting the appointment at the right time for my yearly physical. The office receptionist was able to fit me in for same day appointment, so I was very grateful. The office is simple and smaller than most I've been too, so it felt cozy. I waited about 15 minutes before the doctor came in and she was terrific listening to what I had to say, asking questions and suggesting a specialist that I need to see. I didn't feel rushed. I had blood work done the next day in the office and I was seated right away, very convenient. The office is easy to find in a shopping center, and plenty of parking. The only good thing about this place is abundance of appointments. That may be because not many ppl are repeat patients here. Its more like an urgent care that you may come to for unexpected needs but the doctor is inconsiderate in understanding chronic conditions. They want to do lab testing (preferably their own lab) frequently even for chronic conditions and will not prescribe you medication even for 1 extra day. We have been seeing Dr. Joshi for almost 4 years now. 1. She is very knowledgable, helpful, friendly and directs us in the right direction. Never gives us unnecessary medications. She is always to the point of what is really needed. 2. The specialists she usually suggests are also the knowledgable and understanding. 3. Dr Joshi has been my PCP for the past 13 years. Even after moving to East bay i drive all the way to Milpitas just because she knows my health history pretty well and is a fabulous doctor. Best PCP i have come across and she is a no nonsense person. Her diagnosis has been spot on so far both for me and my wife and she does not prescribe any extra tests unless they are really needed. Lupe is probably the only staff who has been consistent and good. Can't speak for other ones and one of them is rude throughout. No complains about Dr Joshi and she is great! read more

She's been my doctor for over 15 years. She is the best doctor I've ever had. I've had many problems such as respiratory, blood pressure, and gout. My problems are all under control because of her help. She not only knows what to prescribe but she'll recommend other ways to prevent it such as diet, exercise, stress reduction, and home remedy. I was referred to Dr. Joshi by a friend because I needed a regular physician. Her office is located in the Mc Carthy Ranch plaza by Banana Leaf & On The Border restaurants. I called to ask if Dr. Joshi was taking in new patients and the receptionist said yes! I came in the day of and the staff was pretty nice & friendly to my surprise after reading negative reviews. They were all professional, friendly, nice, and welcoming! I love the fact that Dr. Joshi wears her traditional Indian clothes under her white coat. It's cultural and beautiful. I let her know I havent been to a regular Dr in forever and ahe recommended blood for vitamin deficiency and I was lacking vitamin D. So she recommended taking vitamin D supplements and come back for a follow-up after three months. I came back and I was all in the clear! read more

I like Dr. Joshi but, the office staff is not very personable.

WARNING I feel obligated to let the public know about serious problems of both the office and Dr Joshi. The first is about the office, the office staffs are so sluggish, and irresponsible to their patients. I had a blood test in 2015, since the office hasn't call me about the result, I assumed that the blood test result was normal. I was shocked when I saw the result recently when I visited the doctor at the end of 2018 for a referral. It turned out that there are several items that's abnomal. My office visit at the end of 2018 is to request for a referral to see a specialist for URGENT evaluation before my knee replacement surgery , but the office didn't fax over the referral to the specialist office until 2 weeks later. The second is about Dr Joshi. She likes to see as many patients a day as possible, and there seems no limit in term maximum number of patents the doctor should see, so the doctor can make as much money as possible. She didn't sit down with me, so I had to speak as fast as possible, also before I was going to ask more questions, she seemed already ready to leave. More seriously is about her lack of basic medical knowledge as a primary doctor. Last week, Apria company replaced my old CPAP machine with a new one, then the company mistakenly sent a request for CPAP to Dr Joshi's office, and the office left a message telling me that I need to see a pulmonologist. I was shocked to know that the doctor is so lacked of medical knowledge that she even doesn't know what medical problems are associated with what medical specialist. She's even not as medically knowledgeable as most of patients. By the way, CPAP machine is for a patient with sleep apnea, which should be treated by ENT doctor, most of ENT doctors are sleep apnea specialist. Sleep apnea has nothing to do with lung at all. As you can imagine when you need a referral to see a specialist for your problem, if Dr Joshi refers you to a wrong specialist, what kind of potential risk you would could face. In conclusion, you should be concerned about the problems of the office staff and this disqualified doctor, STAY AWAY FROM THE DOCTOR AND THE OFFICE, if you really care about your health. read more

Dr. Joshi cannot diagnose a simple case of Appendicitis. I visited her in the month of March 2020 and complained of acute stomach pain. I visited her probably 3-4 times and she requested some thousand of tests. By the time I was admitted to the hospital, my appendix had burst and already affecting my right kidney. I had to go through a laproscopy surgery and put in a stent to make sure my kidney was working fine. I would like to caution everyone against this particular doctor. read more

My dad was having a HEART ATTACK and Dr. Joshi sent him home with ANTACID MEDICINE!!! Aren't you supposed to know the signs of a HEART ATTACK?! My dad came to see this doctor with chest pains and this doctor didn't even run an EKG ON HIM or send him to the EMERGENCY ROOM!!! I took my dad to the ER 4 hours after this doctor visit because the pain wasn't going away and they said he having a heart attack. I unfortunately had to stop seeing Dr Joshi a few years back, and I totally miss her. She was supportive, understanding and caring. She gave me all the necessary tests to get to the root of my problems. She also trusted me to try the 10mg Lipitor along with adjusting my diet to see what would happen to my high cholesterol. Then we went back to see what would happen with diet adjustments alone.. She is extremely thorough and spends a decent amount of time with you. She also has a great sense of humor.. try her out! Dr. Joshi is an excellent General Physician. She never fails in diagnosis of the concerned patient. She became our top most choice after our first visit , honestly we had some very bad experiences in the past with so many doctors but we can rely on Dr. Joshi with no brains. Even for reviewing blood results she ordered there'd be copay, and most times even if the blood results are normal they'd ask to drop by and pay the copay and doctor would spend 5 mins saying everything looks normal. They do not followup on medical conditions like Stanford/Kaiser do, which I think is more important given that I couldn't take off from work. read more

We have been able to talk to her as much as we want and discuss any issues we have and we know she will remember our issues and any prescriptions she gives us. This review is not for Doctor, but for her front desk staff. I know doctor for more than 5 years now, she is very nice, patient , kindhearted and knows her job well. But sorry to say her staff are pathetic. Each and every time i call them,they have to mandatory put me on hold for good 10 minutes. Many a times i have seen in person that they will just put patient on hold and will be chatting with colleagues,disgusting DISGUSTING. If a person is in emergency pain they will have not appointment for 3 days. For fasting sugar the latest appointment slot available will be 11 am..Doctor you need to stop this,otherwise you will be loosing many of your patients. One of the best Dr in the Bay Area. Another negative feedback in this forum forced me to write this review. Some times it takes multiple tests to identify the root cause. For example, Headache can be because of acidity, or hypertension or even brain tumor. It is not a good idea to use intuition. Finding serious problems earlier can safe life. read more

I agree that Dr. Jayashree Joshi is very nice and sweet. But staff working at the front desk are totally opposite. I visited three times and no one smiled or greet when I entered and when I asked them something, they responded with disrespect. I felt very uncomfortable every time I visited and felt they don't even want to deal with me. They don't make eye contact when they talk, so you have to be very concentrate to find out if they are talking to you, someone else or each other. They also threw document on the desk in front of me instead of hand it to me nicely. If you are looking for good Dr., Dr. Jayashree is one of them but if you want to be treated nicely with respect before/after you see the Dr., I don't know if this is the right place. read more

Called the office for a refill on blood pressure medication . The receptionist said to come in for a check up as one is due so she denied the medication refill to ghe pharmacy Made an appt for friday and requested that a refill be made for 4 days worth of medication till the appt day . The lady denied it !!! On top of it said that " you should have thought of this before !!! "This is absolutely appalling and unacceptable behavior from a healthcare facility . Dr. Joshi is more concerned about making $$ than making sure that she is providing quality health care. She had me go through unnecessary tests and forced me to make follow up visits just to tell me that test results are normal... She refused to give me any results over the phone even though they were normal. This is after I've explained to them that without medical insurance and having lost a job, it is very difficult for me to pay for each visit. Dr. Joshi got upset and said that she has 'rent to pay.' I found this woman (Dr. Joshi) to be most unethical and uncaring person. She should've gone into banking. read more
