I never would have guessed I would find a natural hairstylist on yelp, but I did and she is such a caring hairstylist. I came in and explained my concerns (being treated like every other natural) and Nicole explained her process and asked questions before beginning. I truly appreciate that. I didn't go into a salon and leave with a sore scalp. I have very tight coils and my hair has been combed with small tooth combs that yank my fine coils. It is also wrung out which causes serious tangles. This is why I opt not to wear my hair in natural styles. Based on her ratings, I decided to give this shop a try. Nicole is gentle while effective. I laughed and learned about my hair. I showed Nicole a picture and received feedback on what was best for me. I enjoyed my experience... who says that? lol. Go to Nicole you won't regret it! read more

Nicole and Company - Loved the styling by Nicole after 3 days I untwisted the front and had a new hairstyle. - Blow Dry/Out Services Near Me

What a wonderful hair stylist we have in Nicole. She has skills in natural hair styles, braids, silk presses, and even relaxed styles. And she can do some bomb weaves!!!! A strong woman of faith, she is always willing to pray with you and encourage you the way she always does for me!!! I found her a few years ago on a Yelp search for natural hair, and she quickly became my only stylist. I am proud to call her my beautician and my friend. Love you, Nicole. read more

I meant to leave this review a few weeks ago and it just dawned on me that I have yet to do so. Pros: Nicole is very professional and friendly. She told me in detail the status of my hair's health, and how to maintain it. She also explained all of the processes that she was doing with my hair and handled it with care. She is a very knowledgeable stylist! Cons: None! read more

So many African American woman are opting out now. Of what you may ask? well perms of course! Long gone are the days that we chemically straighten our hair. Why when there are much more kind ways to achieve the same look. Nicole is your atypical hair dresser. After having my fair share of blow outs from my favorite Dominican Hair Salons my hair began to break off. :( Who would have thought my hair would be natural and still fried, (not) dyed, and laid to the side! I called Nicole (I had a date with my husband and needed an immediate fix it) and she told me what to do immediately to gain a good look for my date until i could come into her the next day for some serious aid! I went out to Walmart and picked up products I bought back in the day. Yes it was a back to basics moment! This sista looked mighty fine for her date with Mr. Fine! ;) I went in for an appointment the next day. Nicole and Company is housed in a consortium of hair salons and barber shops. Wow. The place is really done nicely, clean, welcoming. They have a large lounge area away from the individual salons that have snack and drink options. There is a receptionist to help you back into the salon area. Pretty cool. Nicole is in Studio 123. She is kind to your hair. I've seen her do all kinds of styles (so even if you are still permed out....she's got you!). I keep up with her on Facebook. Like her: https://www.facebook.com/NicolenCompany to see for yourself. She knows her stuff. She has high quality products. Truly a nice, classy experience! Nicole is the stylist to go to for sure! read more

I waited sometime to provide this review. I was looking for a stylist closer to me and searched for one via yelp. The reviews were fantastic so I thought it was a win win. I also looked at her pictures on social media just to confirm. Nicole the person- Nicole is a very warm person. Very personable and professional. When, I got to my appointment I didn't have to wait. She started on me as soon as I walked in. It was very important to me to find a stylist that was not overbooked. We chatted about the length of time she has been a stylist, life, kids, marriage, spirituality, etc. Nothing too personal. I felt welcomed. She asked if I could leave a yelp review. I promised her I would. Nicole the stylist- My hair was just OK. I have extensions and Nicole said that she could work with them. I got a simple shampoo, blow dry, and curl. I wasn't exactly happy after it was done. I couldn't figure out why though. After all, I had just had a pleasant experience. I left and went home only to find that every single curl had fallen. I only live about 20 minutes away in traffic. I immediately contacted Nicole and sent her pictures. She said that I could come back and she would address it. I was irritated because it was date night for my husband and I and I had to re-curl my hair. I went back a few days later and Nicole re-curled my hair. I haven't returned. I realized what it was about my hair that I didn't like. It was missing a finishing touch, a polished look. It looked like I had a teenager style my hair. It didn't look like I had a professional style it. I looked at the picture that I sent to her, as well as, the ones on her social media page and saw the same thing...unfinished curls. The curls in my hair and on others, were not complete, firm, finished, or polished looking. While, Nicole is a very pleasant person, I believe she has some growing and learning to do when it comes to styling hair. I did tell her prior to my review what it was about my hair that I didn't like. I wish her nothing but the best in the future. read more

This was THERAPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nicole is so down to earth, personable and good at what she does. By trade, I am a therapist and honey I felt like I getting therapy and beatified all at the same time. What I love about the salon is that it is individualized to each stylist. I sat and waited while she finished a sew in for a beautiful and intelligent young lady named Elizabeth from Oakland, CA. As we shared our opinions about current events and personal lives, I felt right at home as if these women were my family. Nicole's spirit was uplifting and more importantly she listened and delivered on the services that I requested in a timely manner. I came from Richmond, VA just to get a makeover as Devonna B. had actually referred me several months ago. My cut, relaxer and style took less than 2 hours and that was on virgin natural hair. I was impressed and satisfied by the delivery. Only two hours??!?!? I wanted to pack her up and take her back home! Of course, I tipped generously because I do believe it blessing good work, talented spirited people and generally I just love to give. Thank you ma'am. You are worth the trip to Baltimore, MD. I will be back. Yelper's do check her out. I promise you that you will not be disappointed! Photos will follow!!! I'm back to short hair and I don't care!!!! read more

Mrs. Nicole is so sweet. Her booth is located in a cozy corner in the Salontra Suites next to Shoppers, with any amazing view. I called her last min on a Thursday afternoon and was sitting at her bowl 2 hours later. I was so happy she was able to accommodate me. Sh took her time & explained to me about the products she was using on my hair & the process of the silk press since it was my first time getting one. I am transitioning & am very picky with my hair (style & products alike). Nicole was really knowledgeable about natural hair health. In the end I was extremely happy with everything, and that is rare. The atmosphere was very relaxing as well. She is now my new go to person. read more

I have definitely found my new stylist. Nicole is definitely like all the positive reviews you see on Yelp. She gave me a great consult about the condition of my hair and answered all of my questions on going natural. She also did a great layer cut for me. I am excited about having her as my stylist from now on. I also appreciate being in and out without feeling rushed. She has perfect hours for me considering the long hours I work. Not 5 stars because of the $5 charge to pay with a card. But now I am know for next time. Thanks to Yelp for the referral!!! read more

I visited Nicole for the first time on April 1st and was very impressed with her professionalism. When I arrived at her salon, she greeted me and made sure she had a clear understanding of what I wanted. Even though she had not tried the particular braiding technique before (sewing on a large braid for a halo style), she was more than willing to accommodate. My hair was exactly the way I wanted it when she was finished. Nicole is very personable and is the consummate professional. She was prompt, has a "can do" attitude, and made me feel comfortable as a first time client. She uses quality products and has good technique, which means she doesn't tear your hair out when she braids, but makes sure your style is secure. Thank you Nicole!! read more

Nicole is wonderful at what she does. If you're debating on whether or not to take a chance DO IT! I myself was skeptical to go considering that all I had to go on was yelp reviews, but I am very glad that I did. Not only is Nicole a wonderful, nice, friendly person, she's great hair stylist. Anything that you request she can do, and on top of that I swear she has the fingers and great products that make your hair grow fast! Since finding Nicole I go to her every 2 weeks and my hair had sprouted. Plus my mother was so impressed she is now a regular of Nicole as well! read more

Went back again to get my hair done after a couple weeks of doing it myself. I came to get my regular wash and silk press but after going over what I wanted to do and different styles we decided to do goddess braids. I did not have the proper hair but Nicole went out of her way to help me get the necessary hair. The best part about it, it still only took an hour. I love the one-on-one experience and not having to wait for someone else to finish their hair! My hair looks awesome and it will last me a couple of weeks. read more

I have been going to Nicole for three years now and I have not let a single person other than Nicole do my hair in that time period. Nicole is not only an amazing hair stylist, she is, more importantly, an incredible person! 3 years ago, I had recently gotten married and decided to go natural. I had been getting Brazilian blow outs, but using a lot of heat and my ends were breaking. Essentially, I had no idea what I was doing since I was a weave and braids kinda girl before this. My husband found Nicole on yelp, she has transformed my hair. She teaches, educates, and handles your hair with care. Her shampooing and conditioning are one of my favorite parts of getting my hair done. It's not rushed and she takes her time to make sure your hair is clean. If necessary, she will suggest protein treatments, hot oil treatments, deep conditioning, trims, etc, to make sure your hair is healthy and growing as it should be. Nicole has done a variety of style for me including silk press with either a curly or straight style, buns, rod and set, and crochet braids. I love that with Nicole you are not sitting around and your appointment time is your appointment time. When I came to Nicole, my hair was about midway down my neck, and now is past my shoulders. What I've seen from Nicole in these past 3 years is her amazing heart. She is God fearing, has a beautiful family, raised wonderful children, and is selfless. She always goes above and beyond and brings excellence to everything that she does. I am proud to call her a friend. If this is what you are looking for in a stylist, look no further. Nicole is seriously the best! read more

I've found myself a new stylist! I recently went to Nicole to get box braids and I couldn't be anymore pleased. This was my first time getting this hairstyle and I wasn't sure what to expect. Nicole guided me on the type of hair I should get and how to maintain my style. She was very gentle on my tender head throughout the seven-hour process as well. She didn't pull on my edges too much, nor did she carelessly break off my fly-away hairs. In the two weeks that I've had this style, I've gone to the gym and on vacation and my hair still looks great! Nicole is also extremely professional. Unlike other stylists, she was focused on me and my hair the whole time. She didn't take too many calls or hold too many side conversations while she braided my hair. She made sure I was comfortable and offered me water and asked if I needed to take breaks. I've never had this level of customer service at a salon before. My experience with Nicole was enhanced by her sweet personality. She made me feel welcomed from the moment I walked into her suite. You can tell she genuinely loves working with people and their hair which is a rarity these days. I highly recommend her! read more

If I could give Nicole more stars I would!!!! My experience here was AWESOME!!!! I wanted to have my hair cut, highlighted, and silk pressed for my graduation. I have been natural for 11 years and never straightened my hair so I was very nervous. Nicole took the time to sit and talk to me about exactly what I wanted my end results to be and I was not disappointed. Outside of the outstanding customer service that Nicole provided, I absolutely loved the highlighting, cut, and silk press!!! I washed my hair out two weeks later and I felt it was in better condition than before my appointment. The products that she used to shampoo and condition my hair were excellent! I will be returning to her on a regular basis for at least a wash and deep condition. read more

Super sweet lady, and knowledgable on natural hair (her kids are natural). This was the -first- time that I truly had a non-ripping experience of combing through my hair. My hair is fine, and coily. It tends to dry quickly on it's own, and stylists usually just rip through it in the sake of time instead of re-wetting. Nicole was gentle, and efficient through every step of the process. She truly cares about the health of your hair and it shows. To boot, her charge was signifantly less than anywhere else for a wash and blowdry (with deep condition) and trim, gratis. As a result, she recieved a tip thst totalled what I would have paid elsewhere. I'll definitely be back. read more

"Nicole is amazing because of her professionalism and how she makes you just feel so welcomed. She educate you on what is and isn't good for your hair and even goes extra mile. Nicole is a kind and knowledgeable stylist that not only makes your hair look good, but improves the condition of hair. I brought my daughter to her to help get her hair back in good natural condition after heat styling damage. We opted for twists that were age appropriate. She did a treatment on her hair and did twists that didn't pull on her scalp, but still lasted. My daughter and I were very pleased with how she listened to concerns and how pretty her hair looked. Let me start by saying Ms Nicole blew me away! By far the BEST experience I have ever had. I took my 5 yr old daughter to have a trim and silk press. Ms Nicole went out of her way to make my princess feel comfortable as this is her first silk press. She is extremely professional and I love the fact that we were in and out within an hour. However even in that amount of time my little girl's hair came out perfect!!! From now on she will be the only one to do her hair. Thank you soooo much! read more

Peaceful Sherri I was searching for a hair stylist that would be able to manage natural hair. As I searched through Yelp God has blessed me to meet my new hair stylist Nicole. She's a down to earth woman, God fearing woman, and I was truly blessed to be in her company. NICOLE took her time in taking out my weave. She then looked over my hair gave me some future goals and pointers on how to care for my hair. I was very happy with services I received from Nicole last week. She's was very professional and it didn't take long at all. NICOLE truly aims to please her clients. I can't wait till I go back! Nicole is definitely a stylists I would recommend anyone to go visit.
