I visited the salon for a haircut and a full head of highlights. The highlights turned out beautifully, and the stylist was very skilled and attentive. However, I was disappointed to find that the haircut was quite uneven. Despite asking for a layered cut, the stylist recommended a blunt cut due to the thinness of my hair in the front. When I got home and examined my hair, I noticed that the right side was about half an inch longer than the left. The prices are very reasonable however I would just make sure to double check your hair before you leave to make sure it's even. read more

Caroline at Vivid Salon is the most amazing stylist I have encountered thus far. She makes sure every detail is absolutely perfect. I have never felt more welcomed in a salon. She is so lovely, and my hair has never felt this nice. She was able to fit me in last minute, and the results are just stunning. My hair isn't in the best condition due to the amount of times I have colored it. However, she was able to recommend products that helped me adjust my hair routine to where it needs to be. Called twice to speak with manager left message twice never received a call which is not good customer service. Two different Ultas told me my hair looked green!!! Review for Men's Haircut: As a previous DC resident (now Baltimore implant), I've been on the search for someone with master cutting skills compared to the amazing work I'm used to. I have gone to this location in Linthicum twice now and tried two different female cosmetologists/stylists. Long story short -- this place cannot cut men's hair. I'd say near-premium pricing ($33) for less-than-par work. If they have someone suited for men's haircuts then they should have paired me with them. To top things off, the second time I went they didn't even wash my hair. I went back to work with hair everywhere. read more

To put it simply, Amber did her thing! I felt very welcomed upon arrival and Amber took great care of me from the wash, to the impromptu deep conditioning she convinced me to do, to allowing me to walk out with a GREAT blow out for a wedding I was attending that afternoon. She also gifted me a small goodie bag with coupons and samples of a couple items her and I discussed throughout the process. Came into town from Manhattan Beach (Los Angeles) for a family wedding this weekend. I booked an appointment with Amber for a blow out not knowing who she was. Amber was a dream come true. Amber is kind, caring, and extremely talented. I HIGHLY recommend going to her. She takes her time to make sure you're getting exactly what you want and need with your hair. She doesn't rush through so you're stuck at the end saying "what the heck?!?!" I've had too many of those situations. Coming from Manhattan Beach, I have unreasonably high standards. Amber exceeded EVERY expectation. I told my boyfriend about Amber, and he jokingly asked if I should just fly back here every time I need to get my hair done. I WISH. But if I can't get back here, you should make your appointment with Amber for me instead. I'd bring Amber back to California in my suitcase if it was legal. I have been a client of Victoria for some time. She is absolutely amazing and a very kind person. One of the most talented people I have ever met. Over time, they have created a hostile and toxic work environment. I have overheard employees talking bad about other stylists and that's very distasteful and classless. Recently, my stylist left to better herself and her business. Vivid Salon never offered me the information on where she went or how to reach her. Seems kind of selfish, since I have been driving from DC to see Victoria since the beginning. I would never recommend this place to anyone, unless you want to have your relaxing day turn into a high school mean girls club. read more

I'm staying in the area for a few months and was in dire need of a haircut and color. On a whim, I did a google search and saw some great reviews. I figured what the heck so I called. Luckily, there was a cancellation and I managed to get an appt. that afternoon with Jenna. So glad I did as she gave me a wonderful cut. I went back several weeks later for color and that turned out beautifully as well. The salon is lovely, super friendly, and the prices are reasonable. Look at the dates... This is from April 2015. This used to be my go-to spot. I used to love this place. Went in for a haircut today. Said I was trying to grow my hair out so cut as little as possible. Long layers. Framed angled face. Girl acted like she knew exactly what I meant. I was happy. Naive. Then .... Swipe. Instead of a framed face, I ended up with short, even "wisps". Too short to pull even into a standard pony tail. Too short to stay behind my ears. Mistakes happen. She did say sorry. And she did fix the framing part (after I very specifically explained). But then she charged me full price!!! No discount. No come back. Nada. I was so shocked, I just paid, tipped even, and left. When my husband saw how upset I was, he called the salon. They basically told him it was MY FAULT. What??!?! What happened to customer service?? Shame on you, Vivid Salon. read more

I will try to make this review brief, however, it is long overdue! I have been going to Vivid Salon ( Bonnie is my stylist) since 2006. At the time I lived in pasadena, and then in 2012 I moved to Centreville MD (Eastern Shore) it is about an hour and 15 minutes each way to get to Bonnie at the Linthicum location. That in itself should say enough. Six years of driving over an hour each way to go to Vivid Salon to see Bonnie - tellS you what............ SHE IS EXCELLENT. I was referred to her by a friend and coworker. I needed someone new, and that ladies as you know is very scary. However, you know when you get someone AS GREAT as Bonnie (Emma too :) ......... you just can not go anywhere else. These girls are not only EXCELLENT and know what their doing, they are just super nice people. No one ever enjoys sitting in a chair to get there hair done cause well it can become a chore - but it is always fun here the people are wonderful and guess what they give you yummy coffee and even have fresh baked goods if you have a sweet tooth.... omg crazy right. I wouldnt go anywhere else, not only are these ladies professionals and stay in touch with all the latest trends......... they truly have become my FRIENDS!!! Victoria is an artist. If you want color in your hair, and I mean COLOR, she is your go to. I gave her a picture of my inspiration, and she nailed it. Not a day goes by where someone doesn't say "oh, I LOVE your hair!" Her cuts grow out great as well. The color lasts a long time if you take care of it. I schlep to Linthicum Heights from Ellicott City just to see Victoria, and that is a big thing. She's worth it! read more

This was my first visit here ashley did my hair. Took 3 1/2 hours for highlights. I asked for bright highlights got superdull. Didn't even cut my hair shortenough like i asked. Super disapointed!! I asked her to go alitte shorter. Her response was then you can't put your hair up. I looked at her said okay. But that was rhe point i could do a nice style and get away with leaving my hair done since i work in a restaurant if it was short enough. I asked for two to three inches taken off. She took off half an inch. My husband went to go at the same time had an apointment. At 130 and Randi didnt cut it. Whom his appointment was withAshley did. I decided to go to this salon after reading other reviews and by good word of mouth and I was not disappointed. I came in the door with multicolored orang-ish hair after a failed battle with bleaching my own hair (NOT ADVISED!!) Bonnie, who is also the owner, was able to make it wonderful. She colored it in a flattering shade and threw in about a bizzallion highlights. My hair was amazing afterwards. The colors came out exactly how I wanted and my hair even looked healthier than when I went in. The salon also looks great. Its not cookie-cutter like chains are and had a relaxed feel. read more

Had my first experience with the salon today and I will be back! Ashley was the stylist that I was scheduled with. I hoped walking in today that I would like my haircut. After a brief session about my hair and the necessary need to have's (pony tail and ease since I have 2 children) ,she suggested a cut that was what I had in mind. I really liked this salon. As a recent transplant it's been difficult to find a salon and stylist I like, plus the location is super convenient for me. However, with a recent sleet and snow storm my opinion has dramatically changed. I had a 5:30pm appointment booked with the salon. (Booked several weeks in advance at my last appointment). I had specifically scheduled it for an upcoming event around my stylists travel plans. I was really surprised when I arrived at the salon as scheduled (in a rain/sleet storm) to be greeted by a sign that for the safety of the staff, the salon had closed and would be closed the following day as well. The sign also stated if you had an appointment you could call to rebook when they re-opened. What happened to caring about the safety of their clientele? I would have appreciated call to save me from driving in the "treacherous" weather. I also think since Vivid cancelled the appointments without out notification, they should contact the clients to re-schedule. The salon provides good services, but as a client you also pay well for the services. I was under the Impression that this was a professional operation, sadly I was mistaken. my search continues. read more

Horrible place!! The technician approached me wreaking of cigarette smoke. I showed her two pictures of a simple bob with long bangs and asked if she could do that. She said she could. When she washed my hair, the water temperature kept fluctuating from cold to hot so she acted confused as to why. She started cutting my hair and asked if I wanted long layers to take some weight off the top, so I told her only if they're long so that my naturally curly hair wouldn't end up frizzy. A half hour later, I found myself with extremely short layers and an '80's style. I was livid. There was another employee who first said they need to "watch their mouth" because they have customers but continued to use profanity. I will never go back there! read more

I was blonde for about two years and ready for a change. I came to Vivid Salon for my consultation by Bonnie. She was awesome. We talked and I showed her a photo of what I wanted. She carefully advised me on what to expect for my appointment, services, price and estimated length of time. She set me up with Victoria for the following week. When I came in to see Victoria, she sat me right away and we had a brief consultation where she reminded me of what to expect from the salon visit. She was very friendly, professional and extremely knowledge and her confidence put me very much at ease as I was nervous about the outcome. When she was done my hair came out almost exactly like the photo ID shown her. I was blown away! The entire experience at Vivid Salon was outstanding. It was above par, in my opinion. The salon was modern, stylish and most important...clean. Everyone was courteous, professional, warm and welcoming. Their location was easy to find, appointments easy to set up. The first time I went to have my hair colored I was very happy with the end result. My natural color is dark brown and I've colored my hair blonde for several years. I went in to get my roots touched up and the first time she did an amazing job. I didn't mind paying 120 dollars for root color and a cut. This past time however she turned my hair grey and when I went in to get it fixed she turned my hair a wheat brown color, not blonde. I also had her put color in my daughters hair. She didn't lighten the section of her hair before applying the purple color so it didn't show the color very well. I felt like this particular stylist just didn't want to be at work that day and did a shotty job out of laziness. I also didn't appreciate having her tell my daughter to be quiet because there were other customers paying a lot of money to have their hair done. My daughter was not being loud or misbehaving, just being a typical four year old. I would not recommend taking children here as the staff aren't entirely kid friendly. read more

I went today and got the same service as I got on my 1st visit in May 2014 only today I was charged $40.00 more ..I got High lites and touched up my roots...NOW everyone knows when you get your hair dyed it is washed to get the dye out, so why would you charge someone $24.00 extra for a shampoo and blowdry ?? What the hell is this manager smoking ????? While i Love my girl Chris, No way will I be paying $170.00 to get my hair done every 4 months !!! I found this place online for a wedding up in the area this past weekend. It was Gatsby themed and my stylist did an AMAZING job. I got so many compliments on it. It was perfect timing too as my appointment was at 3 and the bus was leaving for the venue at 4:45! They take great care of their customers. I even received a cute goody bag for being a new customer!
