My aesthetician, Paula, was ready for me within minutes of my arrival . This was my second time here and will keep on coming back for my facials. Ms Paula is a great esthetician any explain everything in a way that one understands. I brought my products the second time and she was able to tell me which product was good and which product I may want to replace. She offers suggestions, but did not make me feel pressure to buy any of their products. since I still have some left from my products. I ended up buying the cleanser by Yonka along with two other items. I'm still not sure if the cleanser is my favourite, but I definitely like the eye cream and the vitamin C serum for my night routine. Paula took her time my first time to ensure my skin was good to go and also to give me a step-by-step on what to do in the morning and at night. The second time around, she gave me a book with some notes as well. Needless to say, I am very pleased with the quality of work. I said NO LAYERS IN THE BACK I want nothing cut in the back I want my length kept. She ignored that completely and gave me the choppiest layers of my life. I genuinely can't fix my hair without chopping off like five inches, which is something I wanted to avoid. And not to mention the "balayage" looks grown out. I got balayage touch up done and there's weird pieces that don't even blend in at all. Terrible experience and I wish I could get my money back. I'm really sad because I miss my hair. She was ready for my daughter right on the dot for her appointment time and she went straight to prepping. Not only is Aminata sweet, respectful, gentle, professional, and quite fast I might add, but she makes you feel right at home as well. I couldn't have asked for a better stylist! When it came to picking out the colour for the braiding hair, I actually always go with either a #1B or #2 for my daughter, but as the professional Aminata is, she chose a #4 instead, which turned out to be a perfect match. I had no idea! It didn't stop there though. She not only asked for my opinion; she also made sure my daughter was comfortable with the choice as well. I've never seen a stylist ask an 11 year old for a second opinion. Aminata made my daughter feel significant and gave her confidence since she was the one sitting in Aminata's chair. That's EXTREMELY important to me, because my husband and I are raising our kids to know that they matter and they have a voice. We teach our children to speak up and she gave that opportunity to my daughter without me even saying one word about it. Although she's closed today (which made me remember to write a review in the first place), I plan to call tomorrow to book another appointment for my other daughter. I really hope she does locks because my husband wants to start going to her along with my son after hearing about my daughter's experience. This has nothing to do with her as a professional, but I have to speak about her character. We had a long conversation about countless topics. Within those conversations, I've concluded that Aminata has a heart of gold! She's sweet, understanding, patient, aspiring and inspiring, and has the best intentions for our children and humanity as a whole. She spoke with a passion you can't fake. We were involved in conversation, it was quiet no loud music and relaxing. My daughter saw Kenya and she did an amazing job. I should have taken a before picture. My daughter has natural hair and normally wears it in two strand twists or braids( no weave, just her own hair) it took a while but the stylist was able to wash, condition, blow dry and flat iron her hair and it looked amazing. On the day of my appointment, my daughter ended up staying home, so I called to see if they might be able to fit her in since I was already scheduled. Not only is Jacinta a phenomenal stylist, she does her job with care for clients. I live in DC and I drive the distance to the salon because my hair is that important to me and Franchon Parlour/Jacinta, is just that good. My hair is natural and Jacinta does a great job of keeping my hair healthy and growing. Whether I get a weave with color or a press and curl, I'm never disappointed. Jacinta's natural ability to connect with her clients while you're in her chair is another reason why I continue to go back. Tarah is the other stylist in the salon and though she has never done my hair, she is always warm, professional and pleasant. I've watched Tarah style some of her clients and like Jacinta, attention to detail of the hair is a given. It was clear the stylist didn't want to do it and we settled on a dark brown to cover the gray. I'm glad we didn't do a more complex color because she couldn't get this simple color down. My hair still had sections of gray I could've done a better job. Then the blowout no heat protectant was used and my hair was flat ironed and then curled with this skinny iron giving me these super tight church curls then the only product used was a hairspray that made my hair crunchy. My newly trimmed ends felt dry and brittle. I washed my hair at home the same day only to find my hair was uneven from the trim. I was charged $85 she didn't charge me for the color. A few days later I noticed my account was charged twice.
