I liked being able to book online and SEE the stylist I was selecting. I know they try to always say "anyone of us can work on your hair". But nope - not "anyone" is getting near my hair. I selected Nicole and she was awesome! She has a big personality and she's very knowledgeable AND she listened to me and answered my questions. I did not enjoy my experience. I went in yesterday for a treatment and silk press and I don't absolutely hate it but it could've been better. My first time coming here, an older white lady did my hair and I was a bit skeptical because I've never had a white lady do my hair before; however, she did a phenomenal job so I came back thinking I would get the same experience. 1. The lady at the front wasn't aware that I booked for a treatment and told me she wouldn't be able to do it because there wasn't enough time. I was very confused because I came in at 5 and I'm sure they close at 7. But then she magically said I can get the treatment and went ahead and did it. Weird. 2. One red flag that I noticed is that she rinsed my conditioner out with warm water instead of cold....ive done my hair long enough to know that you're supposed to use cold water to lock in the moisture....especially with someone who is black looking to get a silk press. 3. She rushed through the blow drying and flat iron process and my hair looked unfinished. Before I left the salon I made a conscious decision not to make a big deal about it and just go home and redo it myself. I'm so mad because I typically go to my regular hairstylist or do my hair myself but yesterday I just wanted to be pampered and not deal with the hassle. 4. Once I got in my car...mind you I drove all the way from PG...I noticed an a smell in my hair that smelled chemically...I started getting nervous because the smell reminded me of the time I went to the Dominicans and they damaged my hair...so I called the salon and instead of the lady maybe asking me to come back in to check on what my concern was, she tried to blame me by saying I must've done something to my hair prior beforr which is why I am smelling that scent. Look....i haven't had a perm in my hair since 2016...I have color in my hair and since then, I've been doing silk presses at my regular salon and at my house. I know what my hair is supposed to smell like. Overall, I wasn't satisfied and I really want my money back...$103 for something I didn't like. Moral of the story....don't cheat on your hairstylist or just do your own hair...if you're black, beware of this salon. read more

I've been seeing Jess for my vivid color for over a year now and she is just the absolute best. I can't believe I found an artist with her amazing talent and creativity, in this little strip mall. If you book with Jess, you'll find your cut, color and style come out perfectly every time, even when you want to switch up your look. You'll find she is easy to talk to, funny, real, and just a genuinely kind person. And if you're lucky like me, it'll feel like looking forward to going to hang out with a friend every other month. As for the Hair Cuttery in general, you seriously can't beat the prices (several hundred less than I've seen elsewhere) and how quick and easy it is to get an appointment or walk in. I've spent many manyyy hours in their shop and been impressed by the work and personalities of their other stylists too, like April and Amanda. If bright colors aren't necessarily your thing, I've seen them all be amazing for kids cuts, men's, gray coverage, blondes, and all sorts of hair textures and curls etc. You will not be disappointed with the value of the service you get here! read more

I came in for a trim. Right off the bat, as I'm getting my hair washed, my stylist sprayed water over my whole face and had shampoo on my forehead, dang near down to my eyebrows. I told my stylist I did not want my bangs cut, as I am in the process of growing them out and I just wanted a shoulder length Bob, with some layers. She proceeded to cut my side swept bangs straight across, they now are about an inch above my eyebrows, there are no layers in my hair, it's just a blunt Bob. I went in with hair 4 inches below my shoulders and bangs that came down to the tip of my nose, to leaving looking like Dora the explorer. There is no fixing this. I sat in my truck and cried. I will never return to this particular stylist again. read more

One thing I really really don't like is to spend money, even if it's just a few dollars, at an unfriendly, rude establishments. I had initially given a 4 star review after my cut and coloring experience here as well as had my daughter's hair cut and colored by LEAH. Today, I came away thinking to myself I will never come here again. I made an appointment for my son with LEAH. We walked into a packed room. They had this $12.99 special for first time customers which my son qualified, but it seemed no one wanted to take the first timers. We waited about 15-20 minutes. I could see Leah was working quite slowly, chatting away, in absolutely no hurry knowing we are waiting. When I asked the receptionist for another stylist, Leah chimed in and said she needs another 10 minutes but I can go with someone else. Well, I tried but they said there were 3 others ahead of us. I tend to stick with the less expensive hair cut places like this one and the Super one and the Great one because they usually do a good job on my simple needs for a cut. Today's trim was not so great. While my stylist seemed to understand my instructions and kept up a good discussion while she did her work, the final result is unsatisfactory. It's not terrible, but it's not great. I am glad that in a few days, the straight line where she switched from clipper to scissors will be gone. The best haircut I've had and first time having a short hair. I wanted a complete haircut change that I've been hesitant to try. Natalie S. made the whole experience amazing. She was very attentive throughout the time that I was feeling unsure with the length. I like that she always asks first and made sure I was happy with every step she took. I love my stylist Charlene. She is amazing with perfect cuts and color. She listens and really understands my style, and goes the distance to give me the best experience possible. But the interior is grossly outdated, in a state of disrepair and worn down. They could clean all day long and would still look dirty. My god can't they get the go ahead to throw on a coat of paint once in awhile at least? I came in got a hair cut and I have a minor skin condition- light psoriasis behind one ear. Not a big deal but my stylist said " do you know you have a skin condition???". So first I've had it for thirty years and no hair cutter has ever mentioned it, but now I feel self conscious. I explained it's a minor thing with some skin flakes. Then she goes on a long hair cut long rant about how I need to put my faith and soul in the hands of our lord and savior Jesus. So I guess I ended up at Jesus cuts because she wouldn't stop. This location is conveniently located near lots of shopping. I stopped by on a whim when I was in the area. I had expressed dismay at a previous experience at another location with a disappointing haircut. The cut had been too short. The stylist listened to my hair scare and I think it made her reluctant to cut much hair off. By the time my hair was colored, cut and styled, I was tired of being in the salon. I felt my haircut was barely a cut. It is much better to have not enough taken off than to have too much cut! The company policy is that all customers leave with a smile. Since I had dinner plans and didn't want to take extra time to have my haircut adjusted that day, I returned a few days later. read more

I decided to give this place a chance with a quick trim. I walked in and the floor was filled with hair! I had never seen so much hair all over a salon. A lady at the front desk was with a customer. I waited for a bit and was completely ignored. Finally the woman says "Phone number". I start to tell her my number and she start talking to someone else who works there. Another woman comes over and just stares at me. I say "I need to get my hair cut". She repeats "phone number" as if they can't use more words. I tell her and she is also looking around and not interested in checking me in. She makes me repeat it then mumbles something about a chair. She walks away and I follow her. She points to the chairs at the front and laughs a little. Great start. I'm thinking "run now while you still can." The stylist calls me over and seems nice enough. She doesn't offer much conversation but when she does, she insults my hair over and over. She complains about how hard it will be to style. She says I should buy professional products because my hair is dry and frizzy. She offers to blow it out for an extra $22. I tell her not to if it's going to be so much trouble. She told me she is a professional and will make it look great. I decide to let her cut and blow it out. She practically gives me a concussion with how many times her hands, comb, and brush smack into my head. My ears were throbbing by the end of it. She didn't seem concerned in the slightest when I looked disappointed with the end result. I looked like a "before" photo! Yes it was shorter and straighter, but I have never looked more shaggy and slightly frizzy too. I asked why she made it so flat, that the ends weren't finished. I asked if she could use the brush to round the ends. She said no. She went back over it with a flat iron. She kept saying it was my hair. She said she flat ironed it for free. I reminded her that she said she could blow it out smoothly and never mentioned a cost for flat ironing. She then takes a stand between me and the mirror, grabs my hair and pulls it under my chin. "See? It's even! See? I can cut more off. It's just your hair. That's why it looks like that!" I had no words. I was thinking "No. I can't see because you are atanding directly in front of me. How am I supposed to see what you are doing?" I got up quietly, paid the now $46 even though her original math was $18 plus $22 plus tax ($43) and even gave her a tip for her time. The service was what you would expect at a quick chain hair place. What I could have done without was the head rattling and passive aggressive commentary about how horrible my hair is. Being nice to customers and finding positive things to say goes a long way. She could have started off with a compliment and then suggestions for making my hair look even better instead of taking the "I will mildly insult you into thinking you need this $150 Keratin treatment from me" I just have to think this place is too busy to care about service. No matter how they treat you, there are always people waiting behind you. read more

I am BEYOND thrilled with the service and skills of this store! Breanna was my stylist and she works actual magic. I definitely don't give the best descriptions of what I want, so I often trust the stylist. It's gone awry a few times, but not this time. Breanna understood what I wanted and gave me a style I love more than words. I don't dye my hair often, and have only bleached it one other time, so I was a bit nervous. She took my nice, though a little flat red hair and gave it new life with a gorgeous platinum tone. And the cut! I love how she took her time and used multiple tools to get it perfect.
