The table is in a warm cozy spot. Uncharacteristically I order a Prosecco. I really haven't been drinking. I quickly order the soup of the day,,,lentils. The house bread comes, it's light and delicious. The soup follows and it is just perfect. I also ordered the seared duck breast with seasonal vegetables broccolini and carrots with mashed potatoes. The duck follows the soup...it's a nice portion of sliced duck. With a delicious berry sauce. I eat slowly. Been following this method of chewing my food slowly and thoroughly. Towards the end of my dinner I engage a delightful couple at a nearby table. I find out it's Cathryn herself with her husband Mark. We talk Wall Street shop and about the new Archbishop in NYC. Mark has had an incredible career, and he gives me a thumbnail rundown, but I'd love to hear more! We exchange numbers and promise to keep in touch! Just a perfect serendipitous meeting! It seems to have too much "flop" and the dough is not very toothsome or crispy. Overall, the slices tend to be oily too. However, Angelina's makes up for this in other areas. Their chicken and pepperoni rolls are not only huge but delicious. Their empanadas are also fantastic. And their burgers are shockingly great! They always cook the beef to the requested temperature. (I like mine medium rare.) The chicken tenders are also really good. Moreover, some of Angelina's specialty slices, like the chicken piccata and the so-called "Pizza from Mars" are creative, if nothing else. The interior is also clean and inviting and the partners who run this restaurant are super kind. It's a great place in Cold Spring to stop for a quick lunch, or dinner break, but you may want to choose from the menu instead of just grabbing a slice.

We've come for dinner when it opens and when it gets a little full (halfway) the noise is intolerable. I found myself screaming my words to the person across the table. We've sat upstairs, in the back and in the front and still the noise just doesn't work for us.
