I have had em on taylor street, old town, Al's portillos, etc. To me this is the best Italian beef I have had. It is shaved not sliced. It is not the type that is like short rib. It is the same shaved style of the original beef when they first came out. It is not overly salty and definitely not chewy. The house made hot giardinara IS THE MAGIC. I order it old school chicago style like how I was taught. Dry bun, no cheese (thats a indiana thing) hot giardinara (lots of it) and their red sauce to dip and pour on it. Gawd damn is it good.
