I'm spoiled by companies who like and respect their customers!!…read more Don't purchase anything from the Lake Home Living website (www.lakehomelivingwi.com), with **ANY** expectations of them accepting a return. I purchased (2) frog mugs from Lake Home Living for $66. They were gifts for my twin daughters, and arrived several days later. The mugs looked cute in the pictures, but the frogs appear creepy and oversized (the size of "real frogs") in the actual mugs! I contacted Lake Home by email, and received an automated error message from Microsoft several days later, stating: "Your message couldn't be delivered. Despite repeated attempts to contact the recipient's email system it didn't respond." So Lake Home is running an ecommerce store without reliable email. Great!! LOL !!! Then, several days later I called Lake Home and left a message stating my intention to return the items because my daughters didn't want them. No response. Then, I called back again several days later, and reached Lidia (store owner). She gave me a story about how "she didn't know how to do a refund from a website purchase" and "they only take returns within 14-days." Finally, I decided that since my transaction was made using my VISA card, I just disputed the transaction. And I will let VISA sort this out. What a nuisance.

Think twice (or even three times) before hiring Home Design Manufacturing to build your home…read more We have been in our Home Design home for 5 years now and are STILL fixing issues that should have been caught by them during the building phase and are now facing a major reconstruction project. The concrete on the foundation is crumbing, the logs still leak through gaps and knotholes, we had to have all pipe associated with the boiler repiped, valves were installed upside down, the HVAC guys were not able to diagnose boiler error codes (my husband had to figure it out and teach them) and then they didn't know how to repair it, thin cut stone was substituted for full stone in the main chimney without our knowledge or consent (that is now cracking), the bay windows were never insulated, the fireplace smokes and downdrafts to the point where it is unusable (the flues were built backwards and the chimney too short), we still find random shingles on the deck (no windstorm necessary), they buried so much crap that trees won't grow properly, they used decorative gravel (the stuff that's like ball bearings) in the driveway instead of crushed so it's unstable and now we have to have it removed and replaced... That's just the tip of the iceberg. I could go on and on but you get the picture. And that doesn't include problems we caught ourselves during construction. What should be our dream house is instead a total nightmare. We keep thinking it's going to end but every layer of trouble fixed reveals new layers and new trouble. And at every step, someone in that organization blames someone else and none of them will take responsibility. That's the worst of it. With money, time, and new tradesmen, everything can eventually be repaired or replaced. But the fact that they won't own up the the issues is disgusting. Out of their mouths come the words, "We want you to be happy" yet they don't back it up. Poor materials (including substituting low quality for what was ordered and paid for), poor construction/installation (although their carpenter and contracted tile layer were excellent, everyone else was average at best and most were below par, some we out and out fired during construction), lack of on site management (Home Design GC was rarely here, relying more on reports and emailed photographs), lack of cleaning up the job site (we had to do most of that ourselves and are still digging out dumped concrete in the garden), and Home Design having mastered the art of putting off warranty work until it is no longer covered are each reasons in and of themselves not to hire them. All of them together? Seriously not good. Forewarned is forearmed. Better yet, hire someone else.

EEB Interiors - So much (beautiful) storage in this bathroom by Erin

On moving day the movers kept asking about where they'd be moving our couches, mater bedroom…read morefurniture, tables, etc in our new house. My answer was always pretty much the same- the basement! We basically moved our tiny city condo into the basement of our new house. And guess what that means...we need to buy a lot of furniture to fill up the actual house! I didn't even know where to start when it came to decorating my new house, especially with 2 little ones and a FT job. Just looking around all the empty rooms after we bought it really stressed me out. I decided what I needed was an interior designer. I reached out to a bunch of friends who had moved recently and did a bit of research on Yelp..and started making some calls. As soon as I chatted with Erin from EEB Interiors I knew I'd found my woman. It helped that my friend who was currently using her for a complete house renovation couldn't stop raving about her. On top of that Erin was super personable, professional and seemed to "get" the European decor I wanted for my house. It sealed the deal when I found out that her hourly rate was way below all the other designers I had "interviewed." Erin also passes on the majority of her discount for furniture to her clients, which actually makes up for the hourly fee we paid her. It's by no means a bargain to use EEB Interiors (let alone any designer), but I do feel like we were able to get much more quality furniture thanks to Erin's discount. Months later I can say I made the right choice by hiring Erin. . Her communication skills are unbelievable. I'm known to be pretty fast when it comes to answering emails, but I think Erin may be respond even faster. I rarely have to follow-up with her on anything because she's on top of every little detail...and from furniture to paint colors to window treatments to tracking shipments there sure are a lot of details to keep track of. Details that I'm very happy to pay her to take care of so I can focus my time on my little ones and job. I typically tell Erin what I'm looking for and then she narrows it down to a few options for me to choose from. She has incredible taste and always gets it right. There have been a few times that I've asked her to go back to the drawing board for less costly items and she always comes back with something great. I really like that she's OK working with any budget because that didn't seem to be the case with all the other designers I chatted with before hiring Erin. We're furnishing our house slowly room by room and just had our first big shipment for the 3 main rooms. Everything piece of furniture looks even more gorgeous in person (if possible). I can't wait for Erin to come over this week to help me complete the look with accessories...and then on to the rest of the house. Decorating your new home should be fun, not stressful...and it's guaranteed to be a good time (and result in a beautiful new home) with EEB Interiors.

I also wanted to make one of the rooms into a home office that looked as if it had been a baby's room before. I found out about EEB Interiors through a coworker that was really happy with their work, and looked at the website because I wanted someone who could mesh with my personal style. I really liked the residential design photos, so I gave them a call. Erin, the owner, was really personable on the phone and when we met. She was also really good at honing in on my style and offering me choices and ideas I hadn't thought of before. Before we called EEB, we had been around to other stores in the area looking for something not so run-of-the-mill, and had a hard time finding something that didn't look like all the others. I wanted something that was higher quality and more unique than what I had been finding at the standard retail stores. EEB had access to all these amazing sources that aren't open to the public that had really different stuff that I just loved and hadn't seen before. The knowledge and designer sources helped us create the high-end look we were trying to achieve. I am a person who prefers quality and work well done over a strict schedule, but everything got done in a very timely fashion, and we are really happy with the new look! Definitely worth it.
