Was looking for a new sub shop and decided to try Nicks tonight there weren't many current reviews so we took a chance. They were the best subs we've had in a while loaded with meat and cheese topping were spot on. Over all perfect cheesesteaks no soggy bread !! We ordered 2 reg fries and 1 onion ring. We could have all split one fry I think. Onion rings were crispy and cooked perfect !! We were very happy and will definitely be back !! We have been regular customers for years and never had a bad cheesesteak or pizza. Since the ownership change, we have ordered a few times. In the beginning, the quality remained the same. Today was horrible. Cheesesteak had less meat, the meat was fatty, not sure where the mushrooms or onions were (very few) and the french fries went directly in the garbage. Definitely a new potato vendor so if you are expecting the GREAT fries Nick used to serve do not waste your money. As far as the meat who knows the reason why now sub-standard, but that too went in the garbage. Once I found gristle/fat that was enough for me - DONE. Guess I will be scouting other places for cheesesteaks or just wait until in Philly. Sad read more

I called for delivery tonight at 8:30 pm I do not know their employee that takes orders on occasion she would not give me her name, but she is rude and disrespectful, and not the first time ! I let it slid in the past, but not now, enough is enough she should have been let go a long time ago! Nick's is a great pizza & sub shop here in "The Dena" our family always do delivery & we don't live to far from the shop. Food is always delivered fast & always correct. In the 11yrs I've been ordering from here I don't think I got a wrong order. The food is alway good & quality for a fast food sub shop. We ordered lots of subs, fries, mozzarella sticks, and a large cheese pizza for deli every. We paid all this money, ended up with no marinara sauce, the wrong sub, and no pizza showed up. I had to drive back to try and get a pizza that I paid for and the manager said no unless I paid twice. Not good customer service. Would not go back again. Frustrated and still hungry. read more

Just had the worst experience with the owner. I ordered one of their specials for 20.99 and when he read me my total he told me $28 i asked if that was with the delivery charge and he lost it with me on the phone and asked me "What are you trying to do, eat for free". Great subs! Moving to the area from the city, I find it hard to find a subshop with decent subshop food. Usually around here the subs have too little filling and the food is pretty bland (1978 has great subs but it's not subshop quality, if that makes sense). Nick's has the best subs in the area that I've tried and it's been consistent. I don't have to go to the city for carryout food now. Good stuff! read more

When you don't get what you order and call them to explain it's incorrect... the owner/boss has an attitude and cannot pick up the phone, instead he has his innocent order taker at the front give the news; you know Nicks has absolutely NO CLASS. Taco pizza is great but they can't make it correct over the phone; they say "travel back and drop it off we'll make you another"that's the sign of a business that has NO customer service. Pathetic; I will not be returning, first impression is everything. I would strongly recommend making sure your order is correct because they WILL NOT DO the right thing if THEY are wrong. They kept telling me to drive it back. Terrible customer service. Oh well their loss... this word will cost them several$$ in the future hopefully. All about supporting local. read more

I have ordered from Nicks for over 5 years and have never had an issue. The last few times a young girl has taken my order and every time items are missing or made incorrectly. And when I call to complain I never get a positive result. They have lost a value customer. If you order make sure you ask for one the guys to take your order. read more

I enjoy their subs. Cheesesteak is solid, always fast and fresh. Only complaint is that they aren't always consistent with their distribution of meat and add-ons. Sometimes it's all meat, sometimes all add-ons. Have tried others in the area but by far their steak is the best for the price. 1978 is great as well but more expensive and takes longer. Pizza not my favorite but good and better than the chains. read more

Terrible customer service. When I ordered my food I asked for the total it was way more then I thought. The girl said the 2 sub special was $17.99 but their menu says $15.99 the girl says they don't have a menu or a website on line. I told her I seen it, that's how I got ur #. All she kept saying was yea, yea. After I hung up I just didn't feel right getting my food there so I immediately called and cancelled my order. The man who answered said my food was ready. Nick's is the best!! My husband and I have ordered from them for ten years. When my son was a baby the wonderful man who used to take my order always asked if he was napping so they knew to call instead of knock. Seriously where else can you find service like that? Um...I love Nick's. We go way back. My cousin and I used to order from here like every week in high school when she was pregnant. The delivery guys knows us and used to make fun of us for paying in change. (We were dumb and poor!) They have the best kind of sub shop fries (You know the kind I'm talking about), their subs are awesome, and their pizza and mozzarella sticks are bangin. The only thing I will complain about is the customer service! These guys are total a-holes on the phone and will tell me one day they deliver to my address, and change their minds the next day. It's maddening! It is a testament to how delish their food is that I continue to give these d-bags my money because it's sooo good. read more

Horrible customer service. Ordered two cheese steak subs for delivery it took an hour and 20 mins for it to be delivered. When the subs arrived they were cold so we called and asked to speak to the manager. When we told him they were cold he cursed at us and said so what we are busy. Called us mother f***ers. read more

Worst customer service I have experienced in a very long time. Delivered wrong pizza but refused to make it right (or refund part of my money). His excuses included.... 'I don't have time to deliver another pizza'. When asked if he could make it right in other ways his reply was... 'Well.. your phone... it is maybe not so good and maybe that is why the order was wrong, maybe you should get a new phone.' In one word, their business practices are..... LAME Folks on the 'Dena' work too hard for their money (and are generally too nice of people) to put up with this kind of garbage. My advice.... Take your business elsewhere and maybe the owner will either change or move his business somewhere else where they are okay with this BS. read more

Amazing. Why we hadn't ate here in 20 years is beyond me. When I was a kid I used to order from here and my buddy made the best pizzas Chad M. We keep on ordering. All of their food is good. I know - my reviews are all 5 stars - how reliable can they be? Reviews are personal opinions. That said... As promised I did try Nick's Italian Cold Cut sub and I was NOT disappointed. The meat was stacked high and the everything was fresh and tasty. I ordered mine with everything but mayo - I don't care for mayonnaise. I've been a long time customer of this Pasadena business which is a mile down the street from me. Tonight I called to order a single 16" cheese pizza and was informed that delivery would take an hour. So, I said I would pick it up and they said it would take 20 - 30 minutes. I have a record of the call to that number on my phone. Then, I sent my daughter to pick it up about 30 minutes later and they told her there was no record of an order. I called them and they backed up this statement on the phone, so I told them fine I'll order from somewhere else (Carini's which is amazing, but a little more expensive - I guess you get what you pay for). I decided to call back and speak to the manager to let him know that he had probably just lost a customer tonight. He told me that he doubted that I had called him and that I must be mistaken. I informed him that I have a record of my call and that the person (not him) who took my call asked me to confirm my phone number. He proceeded to tell me that anyone could make mistakes, even me, because I'm not an angel. I informed him that I was just trying to let him know that something in his process failed tonight and he had potentially lost a customer. He continued to imply it was somehow my fault. At this point, he hung up the phone on me. That pretty much sealed the deal. I'm, never going back and far from a recommendation, I will recount this evening's events to everyone I meet who asks for recommendations for local pizza shops. What a shame. Carini's is not as close (5 miles) and not as cheap, but they will be my go to pizza place going forward. read more

AWLFUL!!!! I ordered a Italian Cold Cut Sub with everything but hots. I received a sub the had very thick sliced, super soft, ?genoa salami? and another mystery meat. there was only a small slice of this meat on each half. It too was very soft and mushy. it was a dark pinkish purple. I did not get any mayo, onions, oil & vinegar, salt & pepper, etc. I did get hots though!! The sub smelled & tasted awlful! I could not eat it. I called back & asked what is on the cold cut sub. At 1st, I was told ham & salami and whatever condiments I wanted on it. When told about the meats, etc. I was told it was turkey ham. This was repeated to me 8x's. When I stated several times that I can't eat turkey & that they should've told me, he asked a manager about the meats. Again, I was told it was turkey ham, six more times. I then said I cannot eat turkey at all, AGAIN! Then they changed their story. he asked me what kind of meat I thought it was. I replied, no you tell me what kind of meat it is. He could not, but said it was not turkey ham. I asked for my money back for this sub only. I had purchased wings, a large pizza (that was almost unedible) & another sub. He said he would not refund my one sub & said he never gives a refund, credit or anything. He then called me a terrorist and said he is coming to kill me. This was the owner or so he said. What kind of person and business is this??? What out for what you get from there. He rather you die from eating something you are allergic to and did not order!!! read more
