So if you are in need of electrical service and are as confused as I was with getting call center answering sevices, being quoted high prices just to come look at the problem, and no empathy for the need of immidate service, well look no further than Nick's electric. There is a reason he's at the top of the list for Yelp reviews. This is a straight up, trustworthy business. He answers his own phone! After getting the run-around during a very stressful time, something as simple as that went a very long way for us. There was recently an electrical fire at my mom's home and we were both gone at the time that this fire started, so it was very scary to come home and find firefighters inside the house and not understand what was happening. It was about 2 in the afternoon on a Friday, so we were worried about getting this problem fixed before the weekend so we could have power. All of the other electrical repair companies I called didn't answer their phone, I was connected to an answering service or placed on hold for a long time and when they finally got to me, the timing was not what we needed so that we could have power for the weekend. I saw Nicks Yelp review at the top of the list and so I gave him a call I couldn't believe he answered his own phone and he was out at our property within the hour. He was honest about the work he did not charge us to come out and assess the problem. He helped my mom with the insurance because it was going to be a homeowner's insurance issue and he dealt with the city as far as getting our power restored. We did have to get a room for the night because we were waiting for parts to be delivered, but they had our electric service on the next day when we returned home from the hotel. They finished up all the work and put everything back together and they did an amazing job of the cleanup so we had nothing to worry about with that. Everything is now in working order and our safety was their number one concern. Nick and Brenjen did an amazing job, worked through hot conditions, followed through on everything and we are very satisfied with the work they did. We actually feel pretty lucky to have found them! Thank you, Charlie!! What an amazing job you did and in only ONE day! I initially called Nick's Electric, after finding him on Yelp, just a couple of days ago to get an estimate on adding and reconfiguring a total of 20 lights to LED. The price quoted was very fair considering the amount of work that had to be done and within a couple of days I was penciled in and just like that I had light! Charlie showed up and did an AMAZING job! I couldn't believe how quickly he installed 20 lighting fixtures (12 having no existing holes in the ceiling). And then I dropped a bomb at the last minute and added a fan install and a request to change out an additional 13 lights. Without hesitation, he went to pick up the additional product he needed and came back that same day to finish up the job. It took him all day and he was hustling the entire time! I felt really bad that he had to do the job all by himself. He truly was a one man show and even though he ran into a snag or two with my double layered drywall (because it's a condo), he managed to get the job done with ZERO damage to my walls!! Truly incredible. Would hire Charlie to come back in a heartbeat. Only problem is he's already completed the entire job! Overall average work. Prices extremely high. I had 2 bathroom exhaust fans replaced and roughly 10 combined outlets and switches replaced. I supplied the outlets and switches. 3 hours and 2 guys. I'm an extremely busy person and wanted the work done because it's tough for me to get time off from my work position. Probably my own fault I should have shopped around more. Yelp reviews looked good. They rescheduled once and I made time the next day. Lesson learned. read more

An electrician is expensive, but a good one is worth it. Nick picked up on a Sunday evening, with Monday being Labor Day, and they showed up on Monday. They were communicative on their timeline and confirmations. When doing their work, they kept me informed on what they found and the associated costs. They didn't quote me anything until they saw what was going on. They took less than an hour total. Contrast with another electrician I had contacted, who quoted me more money for 6 hrs, while over the phone, and not having seen the issue. UPDATE 9/7/2021: Soon after I posted the original review Kyle (the technician who came to my house) contacted me to apologize for the experience and wanted to make things right and asked what price would be a fair price to me and he'll get permission from Nick to reimburse the difference. I said based on my research $120/hr seems to be the average in the area and most contractors do a 1hr minimum charge so I said $120 would be fair to me. The secretary promptly refunded me $105 the next day. Nick (the owner) also called me to apologize and said it was a miscommunication and wanted to re-earn my trust. I accepted Nick's apology and appreciate that he's trying to make his customers happy. I know that running a customer service business is hard and eventually there are going to be some unfortunate incidents and unhappy customers. It's the manner in which a business deals with unhappy customers that's telling (as long as customer is not totally unreasonable). I have increased the rating from 2 to 4 stars to reflect this happy ending. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I had a couple of blown outlets and couldn't find a breaker that would reset them. So I contacted a couple of electricians on Yelp and selected Nick's partly on his reviews, partly on his responsiveness, and partly on his promise of "we don't charge unless we do repairs". I take that as free diagnostic and agreeing on a price (which they can't know for sure until they take a look first) before starting work. Nick sent one of his guys out the next day and he verified the blown outlets are indeed dead, started probing/testing the wirings on the main panel (which proved working fine). He then asked me to show him all the GFI outlets around the house which he probed and reset them. All of this I take as part of the diagnostic and he hasn't even brought up or discuss pricing yet. We then found out that my blown outlets (which are normal outlets) are somehow on the GFI circuit and resetting the various GFI outlets reset the blown outlets back to working again. Great! He said there would be a service charge for coming out. I said OK I don't mind paying a service charge, how much is it? He called his boss (Nick) and came back with $250. I said that's a bit steep. I don't mind paying a service charge, you guys did do a truck roll and did fix the problem and I would like to fairly compensate for that. But $250 is a bit steep, especially when the entire visit at the house (not counting the travel time) is less than 30min (more like 20min). I had previously contacted other electricians and seems like the normal going rate is about $120-$150 PER HOUR. This is less than 30min. He called his boss again and this time slightly reduced the price to $225 with reasoning that they came all the way from Corona (I live near Irvine). I didn't know that and it shouldn't matter to me where they are stationed as long my house is in their service area. If they are going to charge me a higher price due to distance then they need to disclose that ahead of time (which they didn't). I didn't want to barter back and forth so paid the $225 but definitely not happy about it and told the technician so. I'm happy they fixed the problem quickly. The 2 stars is for the way they charged me, not only a bit steep IMO, but also because the price and even the rate wasn't even agreed on before work started. Based on the promise "we don't charge unless we do repairs" I take that as free diagnostic and that pricing would be disclosed and agreed upon before work started. In this case there's a loophole where the repair was done during the diagnostic and I feel they took advantage of that to charge a higher than normal price for what is essentially a less than 30min service call. If not for this treatment I would have used Nick's again. I usually use a smaller job to test out a new contractor before using him/her again for bigger jobs. Nick just lost a potential repeat customer. read more

Nathan and Richie were our technicians and they did a fantastic job on everything we asked them to do. We had a ceiling fan installed and they hard-wired the fan to an existing light switch. The price quoted was the same as another electrician who would only install the fan with a remote-control switch mount (not hard-wired). Because the dimmer switch apparently burns out a ceiling fan motor, they even switched the switch out. Very thorough! In addition, they installed an exterior outlet with a GFCI outlet for water protection. Looks and works great! The guys were friendly, quick, and cleaned up afterwards. The only feedback I would give has to do with the scheduling itself. Nick handles a lot of his appointments personally, but he had to call back a couple of times to clarify the day and time for the work. I think he may just have a lot of calls coming in and may need a secretary. That said, his technicians are fantastic! Definitely recommend this company. read more

My wife just purchased an electric Mini Cooper and we needed an outlet for the charger. Nick came back with a great quote considering he needed to move around circuits to fit a 50 amp circuit in our full box. I can not say enough good things about how fast and competent Nick was. While he was moving circuits, he noticed that a circuit that he was not going to touch was the wrong brand for our box so he looked further. It was burned underneath and was extremely unsafe. Who knows, if he wasn't curious, it may have eventually caught on fire and replacing a circuit would have been the least of our worries! I had a ceiling fan that was wired incorrectly by handyman. I knew it had to be corrected but was concerned of the cost to correct issues. I called Nick Ursu of Nick's Electrical at 909-990-3043.
