Their Cuban sandwich... Very tasty & quite large!
    Lori B.

The lease was up for my employer's office space so my boss decided to move us to this building where Nick's Cafe is located. Though I'm going to miss free pizza only steps away, Nick's Cafe is off to a great start in satisfying my workday cravings. Open at 7am until 3pm, food is made to order and so far seems to be plentiful for the price. At the end of our first week, my officemate & I finally decided to check out Nick's Cafe. The building is undergoing interior renovations, so we have to take the elevator to another floor for restrooms anyway, and we took that opportunity to pick up lunch on Friday. Since it was around 2pm, I skipped coffee, though I was delighted to see their flavorful coffee offerings. Their food menu isn't huge, but lots of items caught my eye so I'm excited to try other things in the future. And if I can get to work before 11am, their breakfast looks like a great deal at $4! My order on this first visit was their Cuban sandwich, because I was enticed by the inclusion of all three meats (pork, ham & salami). Though my sandwich was pressed, the bread was ciabatta, and I'm pretty sure the cheese was white American & not Swiss. Plus the pickle was a lengthwise wedge as a side item, like Any Deli, USA. All that aside, this was a very large tasty sandwich and I'll definitely order it again. But probably earlier in the week because I could only get through half and the other half is still uneaten in my home fridge. My sandwich also came with a bag of chips. The couple working behind the counter was super friendly and also moving fast to fulfill orders (not sure if they're a COUPLE) so the line moved quickly and our wait was pleasant. They recognized that my officemate & I were new tennants immediately which was kinda creepy but also very cool. Obviously they have a semi-captive customer base but in this era of food delivery it's also obvious they're keeping the bar high with fresh food and great service. And even though I'm usually one to bring leftovers or eat a protein bar for lunch, I'm sure I'll be visiting Nick's Cafe often.

This place is a hidden gem. Fresh quality ingredients and friendly staff. Also the $4 breakfast is unbeatable, definitely check this place out!!

Nice little place, looks like an office on the outside but don't be afraid to walk on in. Nice and spacious

Overall, it's a very nice little place. Kind a hard to find but worth it, it took about 15 minutes to make taking into account that it was just one person cooking and taking orders that's pretty good everything was made to order so it was hot and delicious, I definitely recommend checking it out

The cappuccino was very espresso-forward, but the espresso leaned a little sharp and acidic. I think the almond milk paired with that better than whole milk. We got breakfast sandwiches, too, and they were AMAZING. That was my favorite breakfast sandwich I've had in a long time. My boyfriend loved the bread, and I loved the caramelized onions with peppers, and the sausage was really good. They were pretty light--we were hungry again within a few hours, so we would maybe see if doubling the sausage is an option next time. Everyone who worked there was really sweet and friendly. The service was great, and the cafe was adorable. Good vibes all the way around, and a great way to get motivated to run errands!

The coffee here is good and I love that they make some of their syrups! I also enjoy their matcha too! It can get busy, again I think due to them being one of the few local coffee shops in this space. The price is in the higher side but the service is good! I love the touch of having dog bowls available for the pups to have water after their walks. As far as bites, they offer pastries and have great breakfast sandwiches which we like to enjoy out in the patio when we have the pups with us. Overall the ambiance is very cute and I look forward to seeing this business continue to flourish!

    Jerome's Cafe & Bakery - Almond croissant

Stopped by Jerome's at the new location on McMullen Booth today around noon. As it was at the…read moreprevious location, the cafe and bakery is bright, clean and well staffed. In fact, the staff couldn't be nicer, and they were quite patient as I spent some time ogling the bakery case making my decisions. My selections were all sweets today. Blueberry croissant - a first for me and utterly delicious (couldn't wait to get home and had to have a bite in my car!). An almond and chocolate croissant - the gold standards. I topped off my order with the classically French tarte au pomme and a fresh berry tart with cream filling. Just divine, each and every one! Jerome's does not disappoint!

To call this French is an insult to France! I was born and…read moreraised in France, getting my bakery goods in the mornings from bakery down the street. The ambience was nice and so was service, but that's where the good things end. This was a disaster and shameful that it's called French. Serving croissants and eclairs and putting French names to menu items does not make something French. We ordered a turkey omelette with eggs on top, an eclair, a chocolate croissant, a croissant with ham and cheese and tomato and lettuce, and a cream filled beignet. Let's start with the bakery goods. All bakery goods should be made fresh that same morning. The croissants, and pastries all should be flaky and taste fresh. These were hard as if they were all yesterday's leftovers. The filling on the beignet was obviously a Jell-O pudding mix, and definitely not homemade. The eclair for some reason had some kind of supposed chantilly cream and raspberry instead of the traditional filling, and both of those fillings were also all store-bought. The eclair was also stale and tasted like it had been in the fridge since yesterday. The omelette was an absolute joke. If you look at the picture I posted, my index finger was actually taller than the entire omelette which is supposed to be filled with ham and cheese as you can see from the post photo. The ham and cheese were also packaged meat and cheese as you can tell since they all were sliced exactly in the same way and same size and tasted processed, and the cheese wasn't even melted completely. The omelette was just incredibly dry and bland. The croissant suffered from the same disease. It was hard, not flaky, and tasted stale as if it had been made yesterday, and all of the meat and cheese was obviously packaged meat and cheese which tasted processed. This tastes nothing like anything you would find at any French bakery in France. In France. Everything is made the same day, and the moment it starts going stale and stops being flaky, is thrown away. This is an absolute insult to French bakeries. Even if you compare it to other American bakeries and breakfast places, nothing tasted good and for that price, it should. Definitely avoid this place. I know I will.
