There is a new man who made me feel like I was an inconvenience and disrupted his day. Didn't greet me when I walked in; while on his phone "what do you want?" I pretty much called like 20 nail places searching for one that was semi-close to the house and reasonably priced. It was a rather daunting task! Finally, I called Nice Nails and heard the $20 spa pedicure price. That was music to my ears! We pretty much all jumped in the car and drove down there. We arrived to a lady and guy working. They were super friendly and they even let my little cousin sit close to us while we all got our pedicures. These two staff members were great! They were very genuine and actively engaged us in conversations while they worked on our nails. It was more than the "hello, which pedicure do you want?". They were very great people. As for the pedicures they did a great job. The nails and skin were appropriately taken care of and the massage was perfect (not too firm or to light) and the design was beautiful! I have found my new nail place for Texas! Give these guys a try! PS: I love the little shower cap type of covers they have for the foot tub area! I know people who will ignore reviews if there aren't photos. However, I like a plain basic manicure - neutral polish and all - so I don't think a photo adds much to the review. Nice Nails is just that: Nice. The family that owns it is nice and friendly, they are quick in their work and easy to talk to. Plus they pick up on your nonverbals when you'd rather just sit and be quiet. A basic manicure - no polish to remove, clean up cuticles, shape and polish - is $12. That's a great deal, particularly when I can take off my own polish at home. And honestly, I rarely get manicures. I go in when my cuticles are embarrassing because they do a better job than I do. I took my 11-yr-old niece in this summer for a polish just before I put her on the plane back home to her folks. They did great nail art and made her feel like a rock star. I should give extra stars just for that. It's not a 5-star place only because it's not super-luxe and fancy inside. It's a mom and pop shop and there's nothing wrong with that. I just didn't want any review readers to walk in expecting the Red Door Salon. Thanks to yelp, I found this hidden nail salon. I called and set an appointment for 2, and we were able to get in quick. It is located behind the 7/11 off spring creek and custer. The nail salon was clean, and the workers were friendly. We got the deuluxe pedicure which included the sea salt scrub and mud for $25. It's $5 more for parafin wax and hot stone. They took their time, and the foot massage was great. I'll come back when I'm in the area. read more

I have always had a tough time finding a salon I like since the one I used to go to closed down. Well, I have finally stopped looking! It doesn't have the feel of a day spa, but the staff is extremely friendly and talented. My biggest concern with places where I get mani/pedi's are the sanitary conditions. This place is über clean! I love that they use an autoclave to sterilise all the tools that your feet touch so that there can't be anything growing for the next customer. Yay for being environmentally friendly and sterile. :) The last time I got a pedicure here, my feet looked flip-flop adorable for weeks! No seriously, the nail Polish was completely chip-free! That last for two weeks easy without needing a fill and they hardly ever break (I'm really hard on my nails and I like them super long) Then the prices are insanely low especially for how great they are. I almost hate leaving such a raving review because I love being able to just 'walk in' and get immediate service! Upon showing them what I wanted, instead of telling me what they had in the sample books is all they had, they helped me figure out which colors matched. Now the full 5 stars come in when it comes to the nail tech Anna. She asked me all the right questions, offered the best advice on what would look best with my original nail shape, and best of all the details she did to make my nail look natural was what won me over. My Mother and I went in on a Thursday morning. I got a gel manicure and we both got regular pedicures. We called ahead of time to check on cost and availability. The person on the phone was friendly and told me he will put us down for 11AM. The location is easy to find and there is ample parking. We were greeted upon arriving and were seen immediately. I had two ladies working on me, one on my hands and one on my feet. Both ladies were friendly. I really liked my gel manicure with the exception of my left them nail that looked clumpy, I mentioned this to the lady and she tried to smoothed it out with some top coat,it helped a little. The lady working on me feet also seemed very sweet and I almost didn't mention anything about how clumpy the polish on my toes looked because I felt bad but I convinced myself that I am paying for a service and expect some decent polish. The more layers she added the worst it looked. I finally spoke up and told her it looked clumpy and asked if she could fix it, she didn't seem to understand so the lady that worked on my hands came over and added more top coat to "help smooth it out" it helped but I could still tell the underneath layers of polish were already dry and still clumpy. I decided to wait a full week before writing a review to see how well the nails will hold up and last. Usually gel polish last at least 3+ weeks on my nails, unfortunately by day 3 the corners began to peel apart and chip off ( I added pics). My toe polish is still on with no chips ( she added tons of layers trying to smooth it out). My Mother's pedicure was ok, I thought hers looked better than mine but she was expecting them to remove more of her dead cuticles. I recently moved to the McKinney area and haven't ventured out to find a new name salon. I had just dropped off my boyfriend at work and figured it was time for a pedicure, it had just been far too long. Found this place via Yelp and Google. Both had pretty good reviews and it was within 5 mins of where I was at. Walked in and was instantly greeted. Picked my color (as other reviews have stated, they don't have a large selection of regular polishes but still a decent variety. If you need a specific color, bring your own) and was seated at a chair immediately. My nail tech was very sweet, made sure I was comfortable, gave me a brochure and asked which pedicure I would like She didn't make me feel bad for only wanting the basic $25 one. She also asked if I would like a drink. She took her time with the pedicure, she didn't once rush or make me feel like I was not important. She made sure my polish looked perfect and bagged up my sneakers for me. This salon isn't super close to my house, but feel that it's worth the trip to go to. I didn't have an appointment and they took me anyway and did a manicure with gel and pedicure (deluxe) with an amazing design AND a brow wax in a little less than an hour! The shop is not what I would call fancy or upscale exactly, but they were all polite and quick. I recently relocated to West Plano (from Orlando, FL) and finding a nail salon/nail tech has proved to be quite challenging. I've been in Plano for nearly 3 weeks and had a less than favorable experience with the first nail salon I went to :(. They were pricey and my nail fill was of poor quality (I had two broken/chipped nails within the first week). This time I opted to go online and do some research of nail salons that are inexpensive but of high QUALITY. Nice Nails and Spa was within 10 miles of me and received good reviews of great service. Well, I received just that. The salon was very clean and I was greeted with a warm smile and friendly hello. I'm a woman of presentation and I received stellar customer service, a clean salon, and very nice fill and wax! Tracy was the nail tech who did my fill and eyebrow wax and I left extremely satisfied. I came here on a Tuesday afternoon, needing to get my nails done quickly. I had shellac taken off and a new set done in about 40 minutes, which was a little longer than I thought it would be. In addition, my finger started bleeding when I was getting my cuticles pushed back and she didn't cover my entire nail on some nails. The biggest thing is that the sign outside says the place is 100% sanitized, but I didn't see any sanitization machines, and she took all of her tools straight out of her desk. Some of the tools were even rusty. The price ($25) is pretty reasonable for the service, but it's gross that they don't sanitize their tools. read more
