Was just wandering around when we happened to run into this shoe store. Walked in and was welcomed by both employees. Right away you can tell they were very friendly and welcoming. Ysenia was very knowledgeable and was helpful when it came to choosing the right size (since the shoes run a bit big). Overall it was a very pleasant experience and I love the shoes I got! Will definitely be back when I need another pair or kicks. Thank you xo

This place is shady. Walked in and found a pair of Jordan's I've been looking for. They had my size and I said I'd take them. I never took a good look at the shoes, trusting they'd be brand new. I was still browsing for a few minutes before walking up front to checkout. I noticed the box looked slightly damaged but because I was unable to find these shoes anywhere else I let it slide figuring if there were any problems I could just return them. The associate pulled the shoes out to confirm they were the right size and from what I could see they looked good, I never touched them. He rang me up and I glanced at the return policy in front of the register, again feeling confident I could return them if there were any issues. He puts the shoes and receipt in the bag and I head out. After running several more errands I finally get home to take a closer look. The shoes were clearly worn, not sure if they were returned or simply worn in the store. The soles of both shoes show they're dirty and I can see one or two hairs on the inside of one. I look at my receipt and see it's stamped Final Sale. This pissed me off as the associate never mentioned anything about these being a final sale. Super shady and really left me with a bad taste. I'm pissed at myself for not examining the shoes closer before I checked out. I should know better than to have faith in humanity. The description on the receipt doesn't even match the shoes I purchased. Says red/white box says coral stardust. Be warned and inspect anything you buy here. Management should make sure customers are clearly informed of final sales prior to purchasing.

I go to a lot of shoe stores from NY to LA, Chicago to Seattle. San Francisco finally has something very nice. What I love most is that this store carries kicks that other stores wouldn't. I'm Hella stoked.

LOVE this place! Came in for the first time today to buy some FentyxPuma pieces and they werent over pricing them like some places do. I love the look of the store as well! I think what made this place the most memorable was the customer service. They were extremely helpful and nice. They're fun to talk to and they talk to you like you've BEEN shopping with them for awhile and really take their time with you if you need help. That's probably the reason why I ended up walking out with more than I originally planned. LOL! You guys got me hooked. Customer for life.

I've been here a few times and I can't believe I've never noticed, but all the shoes a bought here specifically Jordan's have been fake.

I just transitioned from a desk job to one where I'm constantly running around and on my feet and I…read morerealized my Converse and fashion sneakers weren't cutting it. Thoroughly impressed with my first visit to On the Run Shoes. It's been at least 20 years since the last time I had the kind of full service shoe shopping that they provide here. I arrived on a Saturday around noon, was greeted immediately upon entering, and was asked if I was in to browse or if I needed assistance. I chose the latter and was assigned very promptly to the sales specialist Will. He had me sit and asked me questions on what I was looking for. I told him about my new work situation and he asked what kinds of aches and pains I was experiencing in my feet at work. I told him it was primarily in the arch and ball of my foot and I was mostly worried about my knees and lower back. My job involves shipping and order fulfillment and I work out of a converted home in the city - all day long I'm either standing, carrying boxes up and down stairs, or running around doing various tasks. It's rare that I sit unless I'm on my lunch break. Will also had me take the shoes I was wearing off and walk back and forth in my socks so he could analyze my gait. Then he measured my feet and turns out that my shoe size is more of an 8 or 8.5 - I'd been wearing size 7 for years! After the consultation Will brought out three pairs of shoes for me to try. HOKA, New Balance, and Brooks. He put them on me and laced them up, then had me walk around in them and give him feedback. I figured out pretty quickly that the New Balance shoes felt the best - the other two were a little too roomy and wide - I like the feeling when a shoe is hugging my foot and is secure. I was also recommended to get special cork insoles for greater arch support and stability. Will put those insoles into the shoes I chose and had me feel the difference. I ended up purchasing both the shoes and insoles. Total with tax was just a little over $240. It's the most I've spent on shoes in decades but it's worth the splurge being that I'll be wearing these at least 5 out of the 7 days each week. At checkout I was told of their return policy - only store credit and the shoes have to be in re-sellable condition. I doubt I'm going to have problems with these after the very thorough consultation and selection process. Thank you to everyone and especially to Will for an amazing experience. I'll definitely be back and also highly recommend anyone to go here if you want happy feet. I take public transport in the city and the 44 MUNI drops me off literally across the street from the shop at 9th and Irving.

First time here in SF, but been shopping in LA and online of course, it's good to know we have one here in the Bay Area! Street parking is ok, we parked in front of Salt and straw. We will be back!

For a store like this in a city like this I can see why they'd be cautious or would fully neglect to answer questions on the items they have in stock. It's better to go in. Customer service was cool. It wasn't a busy day and I got to try on some shoes I was interested in. There was one pair though that wasn't on the shelf and I didn't know it was some popular release. Apparently they were the Dime x Asics and the person who won never came to pick them up. They're a nice basic shoe. I'd say if you pay attention to subtle details you'd like the slight brown ombre on the shoe. Anyway, after trying on AJ1 lows that were comfy, and another pair of AJ1Mids in women's that I would have bought had they been available in my actual size and not a half size down, I walked out with the Asics. Customer service was great because the associate helping me was actually helpful. They brought me the shoes I wanted and after small talk it seemed like they picked up on the fact that I'm a bit of a sneaker lover, hence the recommendation for the shoes that were a collab and sold out everywhere release. I'm glad they were in my size. Also, they gave me the info to find the shoes that I wanted in my size on their website. Anyway, cool store and cool location.
