I heard the clothing here is easier to distress so I figured I check them out. Given this area's non-existent parking, I opted to visit by bike. Turns out, they won't let bikes in. Meanwhile, Blicks on the same block was so cool about it, and their store is way more crowded with stuff. From the outside peeking in, BAIT looked very spacious, like a fairly recent pop up, so I really don't understand the no bikes policy. If anything, they should put a couple of bike racks inside to invite more business. Most businesses on Market St actually don't mind bikes inside so as long as you're respectful about it. Was visiting SF from out of town closing time was 7pm on a Thurs evening. Trekked all the way across the city and got there at 6:50pm. Guy at the door said they're closed and that the people inside were their last customers. I wanted to by my family some gifts from the shop, but was denied access. They should update their closing time online if you don't let people in. I was extremely disappointed. Guy showed no remorse for what he had to go through to get there and was literally looking to spend money. I msg'd them on IG about the matter as well. They have a great selection of pieces here! I've checked out some other locations before but I really liked how everything was set up here. Lots of open space and a huge selection! I was actually surprised to see a few things I wanted to buy here. I ended up getting a sweater from Nike! Was a bit disappointed to find out that it was on sale on the Nike website afterwards but it's okay! Happy to support BAIT. The workers there were so nice and thoughtful. I personally thought it was overpriced, but thought hey we always try to support local businesses from home. Way overpriced for the quality. You go to the store, pick a slot on the list, write down your last 5 drivers license number, get a sticker with the slot you picked with directions, then go to their website and enter your info. Amazing customer service. I went to the store when they had just closed and they opened the store up just for me. Really friendly and nice staff. They were playing games together and hanging out in store creating a great vibe. They have a lot of limited things still available. On Monday two days later I got an email verifying I won size 10.5. This is the second raffle I've won from Bait and I've only signed up for one "cruel world" release. I had wanted to bring my nephew here for a shirt I saw online. When we finally made it here we were greeted by wafts of weed and two unenthusiastic, disinterested, and somewhat rude sales people - a girl and a guy. I cannot say if the two issues (the weed and the disinterest) were related but it was extremely off putting. As we were leaving a different guy appeared and asked us if we needed help. He was super engaged and even found the shirt we went there for. Honestly, I have no problem with folks who smoke wherever that is but rudeness doesn't have a place in customer service. Listen, I'm from New York and have a completely different standard for "service" in stores. Alex was quick to help and super friendly. Even though they didn't have the collection I was looking for, they had plenty of other styles to check out. Alex was more than cooperative, even offering to get multiple sizes in case something didn't work out. As much as I love Kith in NYC, I loved how friendly and laid back the vibe was here. Honestly, next time I'm in SF I'm planning to swing by and pick up many more things. So I definitely recommend giving it a shot! read more

Terrible customer service. What they sell in store is dope but everyone who works there is an asshole. Bought the last pair of these sneakers and left the store without seeing the shoe in the box, only the display, and later saw that the shoe was missing a patch on the tongue. Called them 4 times to see if the patch was left there or if there was anything they could do to replace it and was told to call back to speak to the manager, but the manager never seemed to be there. On the last call I was rudely told by an employee to not call back. The Bait in Seattle was a lot nicer in terms of appearance, cleanliness, and most importantly customer service. My new favorite shop to get a dope pair of sneakers! When they did an exclusive release of the Asics Gel Lyte V "Misfits" and I couldn't get them online unless I wanted to pay the stupid re-sell prices going on Ebay, I was bummed. I called the store and the guys went above and beyond to hold a pair in my size for me to pick up the following day. The shop has a cool selection of "urban knick-knacks" and gives that block in the Mission new life. BAIT is also excellent for carrying limited edition streetware and accessories you can't really get in other places except LA (boo)! Or NYC (yay)! read more

I came here to purchase a pair of Asics Splash City sneakers. They are $120 online and $150 in the store. So they charged me the inflated $30 and said all sales are final and if they process a refund it will only be store credit. This place is truly a piece of work. At first glance, BAIT is a great new spot in the city for streetwear. Upon closer inspection, you'll find a variety of kicks for the choosy sneakerhead, and a great selection of Vinyl toys for the collectors! Lots of Kid Robot blind boxes and some POP! figures for when you want to add a little something to your collection, and even Hot Toys for when you feel like dropping a few hundred on a great new piece. If you're looking at reviews for this place, you may already know what they carry and wanna get a better idea of what to expect upon entering. Every employee I've encountered is friendly and enthusiastic about the stuff they sell. You can ask a question about an upcoming sneaker release, the latest collectables, or even about socks and keychains, no matter what, they know their stuff. They also recognize familiar faces and will throw out some suggestions based on the stuff you looked at your previous visit. Let me try and sum it all up before I ramble too much. Customer service was great, they were all super nice guys and very helpful in finding what I was looking for, asking if I needed help finding anything, if I needed a bigger or smaller size, and even when I got a wrong product when I was trying clothes on, they still were very polite. The variety of clothing they carry are plentiful, brands like Aape, BBC and their own brands are often restocked. Bait also collab with icons like, Bruce Lee, Street Fighter, Spongebob just to name a few. Wow! What a store! I completely loved my experience from outside to everything inside the store. Wish I had a few extra bags with me to had been able to purchase more items and fly em back home with me. Be sure to ask for Kenny, he's the store manager. He makes sure the store looks in tip top shape and it showed during my visit. His product knowledge was outstanding. He assisted me with my entire purchase.
