So I've been going to Jing for over 3 years now. He has done my half sleeve and just started a large side piece. I always have an amazing experience when ever I come into the shop. I am not a creative person and am not always the best at explaining what I want my tattoo to look like but Jing always amazes me with the designs he has made for me! The pricing here is very reasonable, he charges per session vs per hour. Personally I prefer that because then no one feels rushed to finish the tattoo in a set time. Jing gives you as many breaks as you need and is always checking to make sure you're doing ok. All the guys in the shop are nice and funny and keep a relaxed environment. Everything is super clean, constantly changing gloves, everything coming out of sterile packaging, and any surface you're laying on is covered in plastic after being sanitized. I had a couple of friends with recommendations of where to go and my friend Jimmy randomly searched up a place on Yelp and we found Nice Guy Tattoo. Decided to go check out the place and Jimmy ended up getting one right then and there. Cary Kandarin did his tattoo and I absolutely loved the art. A couple of days later my friend Andrew got his done at the same place by the same artist. Amazing, amazing guy. Great place. Great atmosphere. I feel bad rating this place 1 star, but my experience here was pretty much the worst. I went in with my sister for my 2nd tattoo and her 1st. Her guy was an absolute gem, nice, helpful, and considerate of it being her first experience. If I was to rate her experience, I would give Nice Guy Tattoo 5 stars no question. My tattoo artists was a total jerk. I wanted to get a tattoo created that was some combination of a globe and a soccer ball. My guy tried a little--for like 5 minutes in the back, but told me it was basically impossible. So I decided there was another, much simpler option which I was also considering--a map of the world. He basically told me it was a ridiculous tattoo. I'm not going to judge other people's tattoos but I find it hard to believe this was the worst tattoo he'd ever done. Even if it was, am I wrong to assume he could keep his judgements to himself? Anyways, the tattoo ended up taking a total of 5 minutes and the entire time he made comments about how stupid the tattoo was. It was a really horrible experience and if I had more balls I would have just asked for the other guy to do mine as well, but I felt like it was some kind of tattoo shop ethics to not do that. Maybe he had a bad day, but he definitely made my experience miserable. I wish I remembered names (this was over 6 mths ago), but I would say be careful who you get when you go in. read more

I heard this place was good so I went there. I woke up and thought I'ma get a tattoo. Called the place and they said come right away if I wanted my tattoos. I got my butt over there and said, I want a half moon and the word Respect on my right wrist and under my star on my left wrist, I want the word trust. Forgot his name, but he wasn't asian. He drew out my tattoos and I loved it. When he tattooed it on it looked great. As days passed I've been meaning to go back. The reason why is because it looks like he didn't make my lettering solid coloring. My "Respect" is really weird looking. But my Trust is fine. I dont think the hand is really that steady. cause the moon looks like there's a poo dropping at the end of it or something. I'm not going back there. I had been looking at places on Yelp for quite a while and came across Nice Guy Tattoo in Arcadia and knew that today was the day for me to get it done...So glad I waited.... Since this was my first tattoo, Cary explained to me everything that would happen and he even showed me the tools that would be used and explained the sterilization process. Yesterday the 15th, Cary gave me my first tattoo...he was very honest, up front, patient and professional. His station was clean and contained. He explained things clearly to me and even before we started, he 'coached' me on what I was about to experience and how to breathe as well as letting me know that if I am in any way feeling light headed or in severe pain, let him know. The tattoo was in honor of my best friend's passing 3 weeks ago (it was of a hummingbird with a flowing tail). He re-designed the original photo I brought in, carefully explaining how it flowed better artistically if the tail was shorter and I'm SO GLAD I trusted his judgment because it's beautiful and I'm so proud to wear it. After my husband passed away in August I wanted to get something to honor him. This place was recommended by a good friend of mine who has some awesome pieces on his sleeves done here as well. I made my appointment and brought Jing pictures of what I had in mind. I already had a tattoo that was over 20 years old that I did not like. He took what I wanted and was able to create a master piece, while covering up my old tattoo! Jing went above and beyond my expectations and I feel it was well worth what he charged me. I'm really glad I went to Nice Guy Tattoo. I really wanted to get a tattoo and after thinking about it for a while, I just decided to do it. After researching a few places, Nice Guy's was the best there was. I was extremely nervous and decided to get a consultation before committing to anything. Brandon helped me over the phone and also when I came in for my consultation. We talked about some wording I wanted to get done and made an appointment. After leaving the shop, I wanted to change the font and I was sure that changing the font would've been super annoying. But after talking to Brandon over the phone about it and changing my appointment day, I was okay. On the day of my appointment, I was running late and called ahead to inform Brandon, and yet again he was perfectly fine with the change. I got there and we talked about the font change, and we talked about the technicality of it all and he made some suggestions to fix it. It being my first tattoo, he took me through the process and just told me to get comfortable. He placed the stencil in the right place and gave me a sample of what it would feel like. He told me that if anything felt wrong or that I needed a break, I didn't need to be tough. Just say something. Since my piece was small, it didn't take long. 15-20 minutes. He also went through the proper care. All in all, it was a great experience and I thank Brandon for being so great with me. Definitely recommending this place to everyone. I originally had my right arm done by Carey, he no longer works there (he left for personal reasons) and did an amazing job. But everyone at Nice Guy is a true artist. This is not the kind of place where you pick a drawing off the wall and they get to work. They really drill you on your personal likes so they can come up with something original and unique. Carey put a sweet ass modaf@#$# phonogram with lighting bolts and a sparrow flying over it. Then some clouds roses and we have a nice quater sleeve.
