I submitted pictures of the areas, and from the beginning to end his quote was very accurate with the pricing, I was afraid getting a quote based of the picture and then come out with a totally different total amount after the first in person but he didn't, he pretty much was pretty close to the original quote. Once I told him what I needed, he proceeded to give me a time frame for the work to be done and what I could expect. He offered me plenty of options and was willing to work with me on whatever I wanted to do. They showed up exactly when he said he would, his guys were very respectful of the home and and the premises, they came in, worked and left. No messing around! They did a great job fixing (patching up) the walls, painting and cleaning everything up. And once the job was completed he asked me to look around to make sure that I was satisfied and when I did find something that was missed (which was also my bad for not paying attention), I called and he right away took care of it and came over to make sure it was done properly. I will definitely use his service again and I highly recommend him!

Well, I was very surprised at the difficulty I had even just getting a return phone call--UNTIL E.G. Custom Construction! Edgar returned our call promptly, and enthusiastically. He was not put off that I wanted to work over the phone with him from Colorado on the remodel of my elderly mother's only bathroom in her very old Stockton home. He was the only contractor I spoke to who even asked what dates I wanted, and then did his best to accommodate us. He was great at returning my calls and texts, and sending pictures and ideas for the design. He was also considerate of my design ideas, and saw my vision for the bathroom from the get-go. After his initial walk through he also showed great design understanding in appreciating the character of the home, and promised to deliver an "elegant" bathroom that would be true to the feel and nature of the home. I flew from Colorado to oversee the project for my Mom. Gabriel was our guy--he always showed up when he said he would, and was always finished by the time he said he would be. He was careful with the entire home all through the project-- protected the floors, and was as clean and orderly as he could be. I was on a tight timeline, and as it goes in constuction there where a few setbacks, but Edgar ALWAYS answered my calls, and addressed my concerns. I can be a hot-head, but he was super respectful of my concerns. He was a true professional, and kept me in the loop to the best of his ability. Well-he totally exceeded my high expectations!!! The bathroom is BEAUTIFUL!!! It is a timeless, classic design. I feel the cost was correct and fair--especially for what we got. The detail on the tile work is lovely. I picked the fixtures, but Edgar made sure they were installed to my specifications. I loved that Edgar suggested we put a marble shelf on the base of the new shower niche--a really nice touch I wish I had thought of, and will use in my own future remodel! Edgar and Gabriel were incredible to work with. Their work is detailed and very well done. They are considerate and easy to communicate with. My Mom is THRILLED with here beautiful, timeless, ELEGANT bathroom!!! It is a tremendous relief to know I can call on E.G. Custom Construction for future plans--we are looking at the kitchen now!! Before pics are 1st--you have to see the amazing results!!!

That bathroom looked similar to our old bathroom with '90's flourescent light soffits and a big bathtub unit that dominated too much of the corner. We soon met the owner Edgar who was very impressive with his knowledge and had great ideas. Photos of his previous projects had a lot of contemporary wow factor to them which we liked. Long story short, Edgar's team was very good, neat, hardworking throughout our bathroom remodel. In the office, Tashi and Corina were helpful with the computer renderings of project and had very helpful design ideas that helped us a great deal. Communication is key for us and Edgar and his team were always responsive to our questions and concerns. We felt the pricing was fair for such quality work. We did have changes along the way which Edgar easily dealt with. We were so pleased with the project that we expanded the remodel work into the master bedroom and living room. After reaching out to several contractors, they were one of the first to respond and provided a very professional and detailed quote that was one of the most competitive and fair for the entire scope of work. Being a local company was a big plus, and Gerardo was a pleasure to work with from the very first meeting--professional, responsive, and clear about the timeline. The crew was punctual, skilled, and remarkably efficient. They managed to tear down the old structure and surround, and installed approximately 750 sq. ft. of pavers in just about one week. Throughout both projects, communication was excellent. Gerardo kept us up to date by often sending us photos of the progress while we were away from the site. We were impressed with the quality of the patio that we soon asked Gerardo for an estimate to replace our garden retaining wall to complete the space. They gave us a great price for the additional 150 lineal ft. of wall. They took just a little over 2 days to tear down the old wall and finish constructing the new one, nicely matching the wall blocks to the new pavers. The team ensured everything was left clean and tidy. If you are looking for a reliable, skilled, and fairly-priced local contractor for hardscaping, we highly recommend Toledo Constructions. We couldn't be happier with our new backyard!

We hired Adval construction to repaint our kitchen, bathroom, and hallway linen cabinets. Our old…read morecabinets were dark and gloomy, and we wanted a refreshed look. While we are overall happy with the final product, there were some pros and cons along the way Pros: - Hiring Adval was a pretty seamless process. We requested a quote and within a week, Camila the consultant/designer came for an inspection of our area, measurement, and go over samples for a free quote - Since my husband and I didn't want to be around paint fumes, it took us a few months to schedule the project in tandem with a trip out of town. Adval respected that and didn't push; they simply had us let Debbie know when we were ready - While we were out of town, the painters Ana and Jeff were very respectful of our place. We had cameras setup for security, and they always cleaned up after themselves, turned off our lights, and ensured our doors were locked each day they were on site. They even helped bring in our trash bins after trash day! Cons: - Adval wasn't the most affordable in comparison to other quotes we received. However, we chose them anyway because their process and communication seemed the most thorough (in the beginning) - Since we had the work done while we were out of town, scheduling with the GC Pedro for repairs and touchups was a bit of a struggle as they were already busy with other projects - It was not made clear how EASILY new paint on the cabinets could get scratched and damaged. We had pre-existing rollout drawers in our bottom cabinets and they scratched the doors so quickly. In addition, some areas (drawer/cabinet edges and corners) have already chipped. We wish Camila elucidated this information to us when we were debating painting vs refacing and that Ana/Jeff/Pedro gave us care instructions for the new paint when they initially finished the project - There were a few doors that were clearly damaged prior to painting (corners were broken off/chipped but then the door was still painted over); Pedro ended up picking up these doors and they repaired them at their warhouse - It took about 2 months from the time we returned from our trip/initial paint completion to the final completion of the project (between scheduling, Pedro taking the damaged doors back to the warehouse to have repainted/repaired, and Ana/Jeff returning for reinstallation and final touch ups; the final reinstall was rescheduled on their end 3 times which was slightly annoying) - We changed our mind after initial completion from financing to paying the remaining balance in full. However, something must not have been communicated because the Synchrony account was activated and we didn't know until they charged us a late fee due to missing the first payment. We were able to get the late fee waived and ended up just paying off the balance through Synchrony. Again, annoying. Overall, even with the roller coaster of our simple project, the entire team at Adval was always respectful. They were quick to respond to my texts/calls and showed professionalism in their work. I appreciated that they were responsive and accountable. We are just disappointed in how fragile the final product is and we weren't properly informed.

We had existing design plans, and before we started the project, we interviewed several contractors and decided on HQR because their portfolio of past work and talks with Ronnie. We also chose HQR because we felt the pricing was fair and transparent, especially for this area (Danville/Blackhawk). Ronnie made sure we stayed on budget and estimated 12 weeks for the project, and if it had not for a delay with our windows we would have finished within that time frame. Once we started, Ronnie's crew was here every day and was always very friendly, hard working and thorough. Staying on track and having someone work on the project every day is valuable and not something one should take for granted when working with a general contractor. Maybe it was because we had an outside designer, but I had totally underestimated the amount of time that I needed to spend myself overseeing the project. There were some hiccups along the way, and some specific installations that required me to hire some sub-contractors myself. I can say though that whenever there was an issue, Ronnie did make sure that things were fixed right away to our satisfaction. Ultimately, we got our dream kitchen for the expected price within the promised time frame, and I am thankful for HQR and Ronnie for that.
