Remodeling our 1990's master bathroom has been on our minds for years. I stumbled upon EG Custom's Instagram post of a recent remodel of a bathroom. That bathroom looked similar to our old bathroom with '90's flourescent light soffits and a big bathtub unit that dominated too much of the corner. My husband and I went to EG Custom's showroom which is across Home Depot's parking lot and was impressed with the staff. We soon met the owner Edgar who was very impressive with his knowledge and had great ideas. Photos of his previous projects had a lot of contemporary wow factor to them which we liked. Long story short, Edgar's team was very good, neat, hardworking throughout our bathroom remodel. In the office, Tashi and Corina were helpful with the computer renderings of project and had very helpful design ideas that helped us a great deal. Communication is key for us and Edgar and his team were always responsive to our questions and concerns. We felt the pricing was fair for such quality work. We did have changes along the way which Edgar easily dealt with. We were so pleased with the project that we expanded the remodel work into the master bedroom and living room. What an amazing experience from EG Custom Construction. I'm a Landlord who owns a few properties looking to do a total renovation on one of my rental homes. I went through several interviews and quotes with other renovation companies, and it wasn't a good experience, at all. finally called Edgar the owner of EG Custom Construction. Edgar invited me to come to his showroom in Stockton. I was surprised how young Edgar was, but even more surprised how knowledgeable he was. We made an appointment and Edgar was very professional even throughout the whole process. He made some amazing suggestions and keep saying this is going to look good. Well, he was right. The house totally looks unrecognizable from before. But the biggest things were again how professional he was throughout, so responsive to text or calls, able to alter ideas, great suggestions, good pricing, and the crew were just as awesome. Doing a renovation can be stressful especially if your doing a total renovation, but if you don't want the stress, have peace of mind at a good price, EG Custom Construction is totally for you. My fiancé and I decided to go with EG Construction design services for our home remodel. Consultation and our home evaluation went amazing with Tashi, the designer and another staff member and we were ready to get our project started as we thought designers had amazing ideas. However, after our home evaluation, it took at least a little over a month to hear anything back from Tashi after countless phone calls and emails. Voicemail was not available nor set up. Apparently Tashi had gone on vacation. When she got back she emailed and said she had a few samples coming in for our home and that she'd be in touch. Never heard back. Lack of communication and follow up was extremely non professional and inconsiderate. Maybe our project was too difficult, who knows. Great work but designer needs a bit of work! read more

You think it would be easy to find a contractor. I mean--I know sooo many people who need/want work done on their homes/business. Well, I was very surprised at the difficulty I had even just getting a return phone call--UNTIL E.G. Custom Construction! Edgar returned our call promptly, and enthusiastically. He was not put off that I wanted to work over the phone with him from Colorado on the remodel of my elderly mother's only bathroom in her very old Stockton home. He was the only contractor I spoke to who even asked what dates I wanted, and then did his best to accommodate us. He was great at returning my calls and texts, and sending pictures and ideas for the design. He was also considerate of my design ideas, and saw my vision for the bathroom from the get-go. After his initial walk through he also showed great design understanding in appreciating the character of the home, and promised to deliver an "elegant" bathroom that would be true to the feel and nature of the home. I flew from Colorado to oversee the project for my Mom. Gabriel was our guy--he always showed up when he said he would, and was always finished by the time he said he would be. He was careful with the entire home all through the project-- protected the floors, and was as clean and orderly as he could be. I was on a tight timeline, and as it goes in constuction there where a few setbacks, but Edgar ALWAYS answered my calls, and addressed my concerns. I can be a hot-head, but he was super respectful of my concerns. He was a true professional, and kept me in the loop to the best of his ability. Well-he totally exceeded my high expectations!!! The bathroom is BEAUTIFUL!!! It is a timeless, classic design. I feel the cost was correct and fair--especially for what we got. The detail on the tile work is lovely. I picked the fixtures, but Edgar made sure they were installed to my specifications. I loved that Edgar suggested we put a marble shelf on the base of the new shower niche--a really nice touch I wish I had thought of, and will use in my own future remodel! Edgar and Gabriel were incredible to work with. Their work is detailed and very well done. They are considerate and easy to communicate with. My Mom is THRILLED with here beautiful, timeless, ELEGANT bathroom!!! It is a tremendous relief to know I can call on E.G. Custom Construction for future plans--we are looking at the kitchen now!! To say that Edgar Gomez and EG Construction were an exceptional partner in our remodel project would be an understatement. Edgar and his team were professional, responsive, and personally driven to make sure that our project was not only more that we had hoped for, but in some ways, more that we could have dreamed. Edgar brought us fresh ideas and inspired us to challenge our own expectations. He understood our objective with the project and guided us away from making decisions that in his experience would not stand the test of time. We truly appreciate the full engagement in getting our project "right" as opposed to just doing everything without question. Our home is a two-story Victorian, built in 1987. The downstairs layout was carved up into formal dining, kitchen, and family rooms, with each feeling a bit "cramped" and 30-years tired with 80's décor. Our initial plan was to remove a wall, expand the kitchen, widen our hallway, and open up the downstairs. We had ideas on modifying the family room and eliminating all wallpaper on the second story, adding crowns, paint, and needed some siding repair and paint on the outside. We had Edgar and EG do 100% of the work and now feel like we have a new home worthy of showcasing in a magazine. Every project has its "special moments" and ours certainly had several. From all our new doors build to some mystery specs, to backorders on appliances, and delays with carpet shipping. In every case, EG rolled with the issue and modified the workflow to maintain progress. Our project was originally scheduled for 12-weeks and we moved in with our kids/grandkids for the duration (highly recommended!) to provide EG with complete flexibility. With several meaningful "extras" that we added along the way, we finished in about 14-weeks which seemed quick considering we touched every room in our house except the master bathroom. Why did we select EG Construction in the first place? We had several estimates and one of the key elements of our project was removing the wall between our kitchen and family room. The other contractors were all nervous about the wall being load-bearing, quickly expressed cost-concerns, and had to have their "people" come by to assess the nature of the between-floor trusses. Each of them included provisions in their bids to cover the unknown of that wall. Edgar, on the other hand, immediately stated that the wall was not load-bearing based on what he saw with our kitchen lighting. This confirmed that not only did Edgar show professionalism, and a personal interest in our project ... he also "knew his stuff". We will use EG for all our construction needs in the future and strongly recommend consideration of EG Construction to all or our family and friends. read more

First let me start this review by saying we had to fire our original contractor who over promised and completely under delivered. We contacted many different contractors and went with Edgar and his team for these reasons... 1. Verified License and established showroom. He's a 1 stop shop and matched our price for tile we liked. His showroom did not have at the tile, but he made it happen! Christine helped solidify our final decisions. 2. They are licensed schlueter installers. His installs are warranted to last and not have cracked tile due to home movement. 3. His team laid 1,000 sf of porcelain plank, 80sf of backsplash and 70sf of stone veneer all in 2 weeks. The flooring corners are all very level which is VERY difficult with plank tile. 4. Edgar's crew is very professional, polite and qualified to do any tile or stone work. Edgar shows up daily to check in with his team and communicated very well through text. 5. The price is right if you want a quality job and no hassles. EG Construction took a house from the 70's with additions and brought it into 2020 with an open concept modern update. They removed weight bearing walls and relocated the kitchen accented with quartz countertops and shaker cabinets. The bathrooms were both entirely gutted and now include two beautiful showers and a tub. The three bedrooms were refreshed with new flooring, doors and paint throughout. Edgar's crew was phenomenal! Then God sent me an Angel Edgar here in front of me was this young man dressed like a professional business man, I couldn't believe it was even a contractor my first thought was he was going to be pricey and this is probably some huge firm. I WAS WRONG, BUT SO GLAD AT WHAT I FOUND A TRUE DIAMOND IN THE FIELD. He explained everything better, broke it down to me, looked at the other offers explained what I was getting with them. I mean my kitchen looks like I spent $40,000.00 on it, but I didn't all my family and friends are in awe and are actually setting up appointments with this young gentleman now. If you want a true expert that is going to be fair, honest, do beyond excellent work, and go above and beyond every expectation you set then this is him.
