There are a few tables outside too, complete with propane heaters and umbrellas. We have been coming here with our kids since they were in highchairs. The rotating Waffle of the Month specials have always been a hit with them. The menu offers a lot of flexibility regarding component selections and preparation. Favorites include the Smoked Salmon Avocado Benedict, the Iron Miner's Scramble (eggs, red potatoes, bacon, caramelized onion, black beans, and gravy), and the Lake Grove Breakfast (omelet or scramble). The food is tasty and high quality, as are the coffee and the Bloody Marys. Service is friendly and competent in our experience. Babica Hen takes reservations for parties of eight or more - otherwise, it's first come, first served. The restaurant is located next to the (formerly COVID mask-wearing) large elephant statue which is part of Lake Oswego's Gallery Without Walls outdoor sculpture exhibition. Our kids compliment my wife's homecooked breakfasts by exclaiming, "We're eating at Mama-ca Hen!"

Honestly, 10/10 service and a big reason we'd come back. As for the food, I'd say it was solid. We skipped some of their popular waffle dishes and stuck with more traditional breakfast options. Everything was well-seasoned, the portions were generous, and we left full. Nothing really stood out as a "wow" dish, but it was a good, satisfying breakfast. The drinks were decent as well. The atmosphere is pretty simple and doesn't have a lot of wow factor, but it feels like a neighborhood breakfast spot where the focus is on good food and even better hospitality. Overall, a solid local place with outstanding service, and next time we'll have to come back and give those famous waffles a try.
