My daughter and I were on our way to Mobile. Al when we had car trouble The thermometer went in my daughter's car. Well needless to say we were stopped in front of Newt's Chicken. We noticed a lot of traffic going in and out we had. 35 minutes wits we decided to try it Let me tell you the chicken we was great and fried wings were finger licking good I will be returning whenever I go to Mobile off 85 nice to the Roof top inn read more

I order the chicken gizzards and fried green tomatoes both were very good. The gizzards were fried perfectly w/ a seasoned flour batter, the tomatoes were fried w/meal base coating. They were also sliced perfectly. A Cajun sauce would have been perfect. The half order was perfect for a snack. I also had a sweet tea w/homemade lemonade! The cashier was very nice and it's located inside a gas station. It was perfect for in/out. They also have homemade skins which are delicious, but I had to pass. read more

Great Place to stop if you are on the road and need a quick bite, rest room and gas before getting back on the road

The fried chicken is always hot and fresh. It smells delicious and tastes even better. I'd steer clear of the gizzards though unless you don't mind them being tough and hard to chew. The dining room area always seems to be in disarray and in need of a good cleaning. The hungry never ending stream of customers don't seem to mind though since most are taking their food as carry out anyway. read more

My favorite spot on the way to Alabama from Atlanta. We stop every time as a family highly recommended

Amazing I love their chicken it's always hot and delicious I totally recommend them!! Come see them you won't regret

The chicken wasn't as good as it was before. I drove all the way from Alabama what a waste! There was no seasoning on the chicken at all. That was my last $20 donation they will ever get from me. Whoever cooked it in earlier part of December. They neef to keep letting them cook it or train them how too. I'm so disappointed read more

I haven't had gizzards that good since I was a kid. The employees are cool and they know how to cook. Had wings a few days later, just as good. It's in a gas station and Smokey sometimes but it's worth it for good fried chicken. Thanks y'all read more

I'm not against gas station fried chicken. In fact one of my favorite places to get fried chicken and a honey biscuit, was at this gas station near montevallo, AL. But this place needs to clean out their grease or see about their ventilation. When you walk into the food mart it's super hot, hot enough to melt the candy bars and it smells gross. The chicken itself looks amazing. But all I could think was that somewhere down the line, they're going to start a grease fire. You can smell the chicken when you drive up. And it must be popular because there was a line. Unfortunately the heat and smell of old grease made me loose my appetite. read more

Newt's Fried Chicken - people ordering food - Chicken Wings Near Me - West Point, Georgia

I saw an article on the web that said this place had the best fried chicken in Georgia. Well I had to find out for myself and let me tell you. This is some of the best if not the best fried chicken I have ever had. ( Sorry granny ) the flavor is amazing and that crust, oh that crust. Don't let the location discourage you, you will not be disappointed. I can't wait to go back!!! read more

Good juicy chicken. Best liver and gizzards! Always good!! When I'm in the area I would always stop by!

The chicken here is great...which is good, because it is often all they have. They have a tendency to run out of chicken, too. The soda machines do not work. Sometimes you have to pay with a debit/credit card. Perhaps, because of their inability to fulfill an order listed on the menu, they have inconsistent pricing. The same order will be $3 once and $5 the next time. This is not a negative. I have never been overcharged. If you are stuck in West Point for some awful reason, this place has good chicken. Everything else is entirely unpredictable. read more

The chicken is good, hot and inexpensive. I have mixed reviews about the service. They haven't ever been rude to me but not chipper either. The last time I went the lady was pleasant. Yes, the restrooms could use some attention. read more

They would of received 5 stars but they were out of the main reasons we stopped by. They hot sauce and chicken breast. I personally eat dark meat but my company wasn't to happy to find out they were out. This is the second time it's been this way. Chicken is delicious but unfortunately they've been repeatedly out of hot sauce and the drink machine is broken. Honestly the beat fried chicken out there. read more

We happen across thIs spot on a fluke, and I'm so glad we did!!!! We ordered white & dark meat chicken, gizzards, okra, fried green tomatoes, and coleslaw ---- everything was delicious. We bought it for the road back home but it was so good that we end up sitting in the parking lot to finish. I will definitely take a drive back down to share the experience. read more

This is not your typical gas station restaurant. The food is excellent, fried to perfection and leaves you wanting more. I never miss a chance to eat here when I'm in the area read more

The last two times I have been to Newts they have ignored me or been completely rude. Today they gladly took my money, but refused to serve me. I had called in an order of okra, and then I when I got there 10 minutes later it was not ready. I then watched them serve 7 people freshly out of the fryer chicken. As the line piled up the man manning the frier actually said "let's get these people first". If they didn't want to serve me, they just need to be blunt and put up a sign that says "No Whites". Just don't waste your time. read more

They should really dust in here because the amount of dust made my allergies flare up just by walking in.. it looks very unsanitary in here there are flys flying around the food.. I would not recommend anyone eating in this place.. also the employees don't wear gloves or hair nets when handling food.. there is not a rating up either (I checked) read more

Just stopped on our way through town from Fl to Ga as the chicken is to die for. Only to go in on a Sunday afternoon and they say they don't have any chicken. Um... what??? read more

Only place I know where you can get chicken gizzards. They are the best. Customer service is lacking.

Would be a 5 if it weren't in a gas station. Also the fried green tomatoes are not crunchy at all, this is a finger food that you have to eat with a fork because they are sliced too thick and very greasy. The fried okra is great though. read more

Yum! Chicken, okra, and hot sauce are all fabulous! They make great lemonade, too. My family loves Newt's Fried Chicken

Excellent fried chicken and okra for a rock bottom price. Perfect for a picnic at the lake.

This place tops the list in fried chicken. You will be savoring every bite. Its located in a shell gas station off of I-85. I highly recommend a pit stop there. read more

Horrible service. The food is good but not good enough to endure dealing with the incompetent employees. Save yourself the trouble and choose chic delight or merles. read more
