This is a hole in the wall place so don't be detered by the ambience as there isn't much but oh wow, the food and the service. Those deserve five stars for sure. The chef personally came out and explained to us what she used and what she recommended. Being a vegetarian , she knew how to make side dishes good without any meat which was a plus for us since we had a vegetarian in our group. See menu attached but how it works is they give you a piece of paper with what's available and if you want meat, you circle one meat and two side dishes for $9.99. This price is great because it also comes with rice, and a roll or cornbread and a drink. You definitely cannot get that deal anywhere else. We decided to go crazy and ordered a bunch more of their other side dishes and they were about $2 - $2.50 each and well worth it. Give them a try, I promise you won't regret it. Note: don't use the bathroom if you don't have to since it's in a weird part of the house/restaurant. In no way is it dirty but it just a makeshift bathroom located in a weird room. You'll know what I mean if you go there. Don't say I didn't warn ya.

The gospel music is great, but much too loud. PROS: The old house is a nice lunch setting. Service is good. The meat and seasoned veggies are delicious!

I started off with the Moon Over Madagascar, and let me tell you--if this drink had a fan club, I'd be president. The black tea and vanilla combo sounded like a weird dare at first, but it ended up being shockingly amazing. Whoever came up with that mix deserves a bonus and maybe a parade. Now, let's talk about the shrimp and grits, because these were not just "good." These were "call your mama and tell her you've tasted greatness" good. The chef is from South Carolina, and you can taste every bit of Lowcountry pride in that bowl. Perfectly cooked grits? Check. Pile of blackened shrimp? Double check. A sauce that made me rethink my entire life? Oh yeah. If they sold that sauce by the gallon, I'd be bankrupt but extremely happy. Erica, our waitress, was an absolute rockstar. Super helpful, incredibly informative, and somehow managed to keep the perfect balance of friendly and professional--even on the Sunday after the Iron Bowl, when half of Auburn is stress-eating. The place was spotless too, which is impressive considering the emotional damage that game causes every year. Bottom line: The Hound is a must-visit. Come hungry, order boldly, and thank me later.

I said "I would like that to go. What are my side options?" They said, "You don't really get options. It just comes with certain things. You get mashed potatoes, asparagus, and you get to pick what kind of salad dressing you want." I chose blue cheese. They said it would be a fifteen minute wait for my meal, and I asked for a cocktail menu. They said they don't serve cocktails. They did not ask me if I wanted a water. Sea bass is supposed to be delicate, juicy and tender with a bounce back when you poke it. It is crispy on the outside and tender in the middle. I order it every time I go to bonefish grill, and that's what I expected when I came here. It was grossly disappointing. I honestly don't even think that fish they gave me was sea bass. It was much too thin. It was soaked in an overwhelming amount of lemon. The mashed potatoes and greens tasted like lemon. It was like my entire meal had been marinated in lemon juice all day. Yuck. There was no sweetness at all. It was just bitter like strsight lemon. This "meal" cost me $42. I was back at my hotel before I realized how bad it was. Going out in the rain to return it was not an option. I Very rarely give bad reviews. This is the only one star review I think I've ever given. This food was truly atrocious.
