My longtime mechanic had retired, and I wasn't sure where to go next until I discovered D&G Auto Repair on Yelp! In August 2025, I brought my car in for brake service (pads and rotors replacement). From the very beginning, I felt I was in good hands. Paulo, the manager, responded to my Yelp inquiry almost immediately. He was professional, kind, and attentive. He listened carefully to my concerns and explained everything in a clear, respectful way, something I truly appreciate. I felt a strong sense of trust that he genuinely cared about my car and my safety. When I arrived at the shop, Paulo was just as professional and kind in person. He made me feel confident in my choice to use to D&G Auto Repair. After I left my car, he followed up via text with an estimated bill before starting any work, which gave me peace of mind and control over the process. The shop itself is small but clearly run by expert technicians, and the waiting room is clean and comfortable, a nice bonus! I returned yesterday with a question about a noise I'd heard. Tony, one of the technicians, came out and personally walked around my car with me. He pointed out how clean it looked and even asked about repairs I had done elsewhere. He gave me a mini lesson on body repair which was surprisingly enlightening. He then gave me directions to the nearest Auto Parts store and Car Wash. That kind of extra care is rare and so appreciated. They had a modest and reasonable list of repair and replacement items that needed to be addressed immediately. Then installed a new set of tires that I purchased from a third-party vendor. There were other things that I thought should be addressed but the shop told me not to waste my money, that they weren't real problems and that I had bought a great old G wagon They found me a guy who came and did some minor rust repair and gave me a good estimate for rust proofing the undercarriage, which I plan to do this spring. These guys know Mercedes-Benz cars. If you've got a quirky issue with a Benz or any other German make then I highly recommend this place.

On a Saturday morning, we went looking for a few mechanics which were recommended to us. To our surprise, they were all closed on Saturday, and we were told to come back on Monday. So we get to Tony's, and we're told that they're very busy and they can't look at our car right away, as there were two customers ahead of us. They said to leave the car and to call back in 2 hrs. He said come back and we'll discuss what the problem with the car is. We braced ourselves for what it would cost to repair the car. Well....imagine our surprise when Tony told us that the problem is NOT an emergency, and didn't need to be taken care of right away. He told us exactly what was wrong, how much the parts would cost, and how much it would cost to get fixed. He gave us the ok to drive back to NY, and advised us to see our own mechanic whenever we got home. What?!?! As out-of-towners, we're not going to get ripped off?!?! Not only did we NOT get ripped off, Tony said there is NO CHARGE for the diagnosics! Now THAT is definitely 5 Star worthy!! We appreciate Tony's honestly and kindness so much. What a nice surprise. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this place for state inspection. Update: To clarify, I asked for assistance placing the inspection sticker properly on the windshield, which another nearby inspection shop was able to do for me immediately afterward without any issue. What made the experience uncomfortable was not the sticker itself, but the interaction. During the conversation, the owner leaned his arm/body against my half-open car window while speaking to me. I politely asked him not to do that, and the situation immediately became hostile. I was then told to "get out"/"leave." The negative comments about EVs/Teslas and the aggressive attitude were unprofessional and are the reason for my review. I also noticed a review from another Asian customer describing a similar experience of being yelled at. I cannot speak to the intent behind it, but combined with my own experience, it made the environment feel uncomfortable and unwelcoming. This review reflects my honest experience as a customer.
