I have nothing but good to say about Newton Auto Care, the staff, the service, the prices, but especially the owner, Ken Payne. I had a series of things go wrong with my car, a '98 Ford Taurus, in a short period of time. I had been overcharged by several other mechanics and in the end told to take my car off the road, as they hadn't addressed the real issue.
Because it had been my Father's car and it had alot of sentimental value for me, I really wanted to keep it going a while longer. A neighbour told me about Newton Auto Care, where she had been taking her vehicle for a number of years and how she always experienced great, affordable, service and that Ken had always treated her with such kindness and respect and honesty.
As a last resort, I called him up and he listened carefully as I told him about my car, the problems, the money I'd sunk into it, the various work I'd had done and the recommendation that had been made to take the car off the road.
He told me to bring my car over and that he would take a look and give me an honest opinion on what, if anything I should do. I was met by a very happy, easy-going, personable and kind man, who insisted on giving me a ride home and followed up with exactly what he promised. He assured me that he wasn't trying to convince me to get the work done by him, but that I should think about it for a few days and if I did go ahead with the work, he would undercut the other estimates I'd been given. He also levelled with me that because it was an old car, I could choose to do the work and other things could break down. I appreciated being told the truth of what to expect.
Long story short, I had the work done, he did exactly what he promised, he charged me so much less than what I'd been quoted before going to Newton Auto Care and he even threw in a few things for next to nothing. I had a side mirror that had been ready to fall off for months and when I picked up my car, Ken had surprised me with having it fixed.
I would highly recommend this business to anyone I know, especially women customers, who often get taken advantage of by some mechanics, because of their lack of knowledge. This is a trustworthy, dependable business and you will feel good just stepping inside the door, as Ken Payne always seems to have a smile on his face and a kind word for his customers. L.
