It's East Van.. and that being my neighborhood, it usually means cheap. However, when it comes to my car... nothing is cheap. I was so lucky to be recommended this place, because my car has already had a few hiccups and they were right there to solve the problem for me. Somehow this owner has the handle on all the right parts at a great price, when I was paying 2-3 times more in Los Angeles for the same stuff. Labor prices are reasonable and they get the job done quickly. Most of all, they know their stuff, from American to German cars, they've done it all. The owner also spent time working on racecars. The real ones, not that Lamb you have in your garage, which is not a real race car. They also rebuild engines (I saw a Cayenne here the other day they were rebuilding, and a really old Benz), should you need that service. So I'm out with my secret. You can thank me later. I called Reza at I C in the morning. They were too busy to check the car. Decided to drive to my own mechanic. Engine started but died every time I put the car in gear. Had to tow to my mechanic. He put it on the computer. Definitely something was wrong. When he opened the hood, the cable to the air sensor was unplugged. Plugged it in and everything was OK. My mechanic called Icy Cool, said it was their fault and they should give me a refund. They refused. I'm out $240 + cost of tow. AVOID!

My partner had taken her finicky mini to this place a few times. Each time Frank went the distance, fixed any problem and did it in a timely manner. Recently, our old 76 Chevy was running like poop. Between soft brakes and a poor charging system, we figured we were in for trouble. Frank looked at the van right away, like right away. He gave us some info, some options and worked on the van that day. In less than 24 hours it was ready to pick up. Brakes were shot, a new alternator was needed, and we dropped in a new battery too. Phewwf! Well worth it. The van feels solid like never before, stops on a toonie, and runs like a dream. I don't know if this thing ever ran this well in the last forty years. Unfortunately, over time I began to notice a pattern. While many repairs and services resulted in positive improvements, they were often accompanied by unusual mistakes or oversights. For example, during a routine oil change, the oil pan drain bolt was stripped. On another occasion, I brought the vehicle in for an A/C repair quote and later discovered the A/C system had been left unplugged. There have been several similar incidents over the years. The staff have always been friendly and well-intentioned, which makes this difficult to say. However, the repeated carelessness has gradually eroded my confidence. While I appreciate the help they have provided, there have been too many instances where attention to detail was lacking, and at times it felt as though my concerns were not being given the level of respect and care they deserved.

A recent trip to Whistler was an eye opener: one of our tire was popped and needed to be patched, and there was a funny sound when starting the car about to drive home on Sunday. By Tuesday of the same week, The Hubs said he can barely start the car. He took public transit to work while I looked for an auto shop to take my car in for the day. Called a couple of shops and they are full for the week. I randomly searched and came across this place on Google that is tucked away in the end of a long brown building. Walter picked up the phone and was genuinely concerned about my car and whether I can start it. He asked me some great questions that should be easy to answer, but I have no clue since The Hubs handles the maintenance. Walter was very patient with someone that has minimal knowledge about their car and gave great instructions to explain how to get to the shop and what to do once there. Once I figured out how to start the car, I drove over and drop off my car with Walter at 12pm, who also asked me if there's anything else they need to check for me. Informed him of the tire problem and he said he'll make sure someone take a look and torque it as well. Walter called at 2pm and let me know the diagnosis and what is needed to be repaired. Turns out battery is end of its life and needs a new one. Also, my tires are getting bare and needed some new treads - Walter said he can find and give me a few options. By 3:30pm, Walter called back and said the car is ready. Made my way back and explained the what they have done, how much it costs and also the tire options. The price is fair. I feel assured by their level of service and knowledge. I'm very glad I stumbled upon them. Overall: Walter & team is great. I have a great service, fair prices, and I will take my car to service there again.
