I've never been scammed so hard. I paid $16 for this- a bowl (not cup) of soup and a "full" (not half) order of mac. They didn't even have the decency to fill it up. $8 dollars each. I ordered the mac for someone else as their main. When I saw that they messed up the cake slice flavor, I was just going to roll with it until I saw how they did me on the rest of the order. I went back and the manager looked me dead in the eye and tried to tell me that the macaroni and cheese was "pre-weighed" and that was how it was supposed to be. Second time going to this Newk's location within the last two weeks and both times it has exceeded my expectations! Great customer service and fresh food. Both times I've gotten the choose 2: handcrafted veggie pizza and a garden salad. Sooo delicious . During my visit today, I believe Olivia (may not be here name) assisted me. We came here today for lunch and we are so happy we did! We loved the atmosphere for a great lunch. The food was fresh and came out quickly. Above all the owner, I believe, was all smiles and spoke to us for a few seconds about the breadsticks - which we always crave. My coworker raves about Newk's! This particular location is in an awkward corner and we had to park all the way by Publix just to get there! Other than that the line wasn't long but the menu is super expansive. I really didn't have time to go through everything. I chose a half sandwich and soup so I could try everything. I got the crab and corn chowder and chicken salad sandwiches. The prices are a little high but the food is cooked to order and high quality. I wish they had banana peppers and sour pickles as an option for toppings but besides that they have a lot to choose from and free skinny breadsticks. My soup came out warm and rich. Exceptional eatery! Exceptional Fast casual! Went with my temptress and dad, we each got a soup n sandwich "sharing" . Their shrimp po-boy was quite tasty and fresh, with Steamed , not fried, shrimp. All soups were fresh and tasty, the tomato basil won! They have a condiment section with many things a lot of restaurants charge for (whole roasted garlic clothjalapeño peppers, capers, Etc.) The food was pretty good similar to any Panera/Atlanta bread etc but I was surprised by how good the service was - much better than my experiences at Panera. Just finished eating dinner at this establishment. I do not believe in buying sandwiches when you can make them at home but this place exceeded my expectations. I had the Newk's Q sandwich ( a Newcomb family recipe) and it was actually quite tasty. The ambiance is really casual. You walk up to the register order your food and wait for them to bring it to your table. Overall I had a good experience I would certainly recommend for lunch dining. The worse Newk's I have ever been to and have been to at least a dozen locations! I have visited this location since the opening which I eagerly anticipated. I have eaten at Newk's In Kentucky, Texas, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee and so on. this place by far has the worse customer service I have ever experienced of all the locations. Something has shifted in the last couple months and I do not recognize most of the staff. I used to come so often I was friendly with many of the people who worked there. What I can say is the food is ALWAYS good. Whether you get the right food of course is 50/50. Many of the staff are rude, don't speak to you, they are on their phones while Tables are filthy, certain drinks are out etc. Many times I clean my own table as the staff is too busy cutting up, on their phones or just plain doing what looks like Nothing. One thing I always found about Newk's was how wonderful the staff was and friendly. Well you can forget about that kind of warm treatment at the Smyrna location. I hope they get better. The rude chick who "helped" me tonight at the register finally pushed me enough to give this place the crummy review I should of written months ago. read more

After about 10 minutes of standing around, I walked to the other side that was vacant with 2 employees at the registers, but no customers. I asked if I could order at either side, (remember this is not the dine-in side) and they said yes. I'm just confused why they let me stand on the other side for 10 minutes. Oh well. This is quickly becoming my go to spot for a quick afternoon lunch. I had the grilled steak sandwich and Thai chicken soup. Both were delicious. I love doing the sandwich and soup combo, but there are so many other options on the menu, I'll have to keep trying them to see what else is great. It's quick, friendly service and I'm sure you'll like it. Food here is amazing would totally recommend. It is freezing though so please bring a sweater or something because it is FREEZING. It's kinda like panera bread but with pizzas as well. This was my first time at Newk's and it was fantastic! The staff was efficient, the dining area is very clean and there was plenty of room for my group to sit, eat, laugh and talk. The manager engaged with us for a bit and told us about the business and that specific location. He was very responsive to our inquiries about Newk's. My entire table had salads. **Update: they went from a Health Score of a U to a C. Will not be visiting until it improves. ***** So - we are big fans of Newk's and probably eat there at least once a week. The food is fresh. It takes a little longer to make, but I get that. They always have a ton of people working, and I appreciate the table check-ins. My biggest beef is that they DROWN the salads in dressing. Even the new dill pasta salad was swimming in the dressing. Such a shame because the flavors were delicious. But the dressing was overwhelming. What was supposed to be hot was hot, what was supposed to be cold was cold. I loved the fresh "add ons" area. I had a half and half with a shrimp poor boy and tomato basil soup. My husband had the steak sandwich and ceasar salad. All was so good. We took a slice of caramel cake and a side of the pimento 6 cheese mac & cheese yo go for later. When this restaurant opened, it quickly became my go-to spot of convenience... decent food, clean restaurant, and great service! Let's face it... the food's not award-worthy, but it was fresh and cooked to order. Dine-in was always a pleasure. I also enjoyed the convenient grab-and-go options. Lately though, the service and food quality have really declined. I'm not sure if management has changed but there is a noticeable difference. I will never use their curbside service again. Twice (yes, I tried to give them another chance), I waited in the curbside parking directly in front of the door... watching employees buzz around, wiping tables, sweeping, even looking directly at me , and then walk away. When I went in to grab my food after waiting for too long, the food was cold and the staff looked annoyed when I asked them to heat it up. I was told they didn't see me... yet, they had made eye contact with me as I sat in my car? The second incident, same exact scenario, when I told the employee helping me very respectfully that I would never do curbside again, he just shrugged, smiled, and walked away? Besides dine-in and curbside, I've also used DoorDash which is extremely overpriced for this food (again... convenience), and the food quality has steadily deteriorated. Sorry Newk's... it's time for another option. Hope you can make some improvements to keep your other patrons, but this one is saying farewell. read more

When you first walk in you walk to the counter you tell them what you want and you pay right there, then you go to your table to eat. I've done this many times before, but this was just a little different. The food was great. I had the ahi tuna and a side of macaroni and cheese. I came in at lunch to grab something to go, the lady at the counter was full of suggestions! I chose the grilled steak & loaded baked potato soup! If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Walked in and the staff was EXTREMELY RUDE. A woman with short hair at the register had the worst attitude ever. We ordered a kids meal which INCLUDES a soft drink and charged me for an adult sized drink. Saying it was an up charge, when the menu itself says INCLUDES A SOFT DRINK. Then I told her about it and she responds with the worst attitude. Saying "well you're already an adult ordering from the kids menu." Without knowing what health conditions I have or even without knowing if I ordered it specifically for myself or someone else. Horrible establishment with an even more horrible staff.
