First off I am very disappointed to say while Newk's is fairly new to my area they are not complying with COVID-19 guidelines. They claim to require a mask but when you go in you see a mass crowd all eating with no masks. What's the point? Other than that I have to say my food was great and made with care. Our family of four attended one of the sneak peak lunches before this location opened. We each ordered a different menu option and enjoyed everything. The the BBQ chicken pizza was everyone's favorite. We will most likely be back for a quick meal, once the newness dies down. Pros: - Good food for a decent price. Options for everyone. - Drinks come in a reusable cup for adults, kid cups are disposable though. - Separate To Go and Prepackaged pick up register. Cons: - Drink station (there is only one that we saw) is inconvenient and I foresee chaos when the To Go line is open, it was not open when we were there. - The condiment/toppings station is open, with no covering to protect the items from germs or people using their fingers to get items. - There are only two registers and they are very close to the entrance, which will most likely create a blockage when they get busy. read more

I was really impressed didn't take long to order and food was fresh and yummy. Order a smoke ham sandwich and the Mac and cheese. My husband ordered the black and blue salad great for the price and quality. Staff was nice and attentive asked if we needed anything and even brought my little one a treat. Good but nothing spectacular. My roast beef sandwich was good, but for the price could have had a bit more meat. My wife had soup and salad. Her salad was a bit over-dressed which made it soggy. Her soup was good, but for the price point Olive Garden (yes Olive Garden) does a better job. For full disclosure, I'm not a soup and salad kind of guy. I wish this place well, I'm glad they've opened up after sitting dormant for nearly a year. I'll give them another chance in a couple of months once they've settled into their routine. read more

Newks finally open. You walk in and ordeR at the counter. The dining area is nice and clean The food is good, we got the newks Q, roast beef and chicken club. All were fresh and good however for the price the portions were small. The bread was big and we had to removE some of thE bread to fit the meat portion. I'm reeally glad this place is finally open! We were afraid it was going to be too busy on a Sunday at 12:30 but it was perfect. A few minutes in line to order, but the food can out quickly. I had the Country Salad which is chicken salad on greens with croutons and cherry tomato's. I got it with a sherry vinaigrette. It was very good and i will get that same salad again. Hubby got a pizza and it was okay but seeing all the yummy looking salads walk by him for other people made him wish he had ordered better. Service was very friendly and we had two different manager-looking people ask us about our experience. The food was very fresh and delicious. The price was a little steep for a quick lunch, but no different than other restaurants similar to this style. However, Newks makes up for that price with an interesting "Round table" that has toppings and crackers, better tasting food and great service. read more

We came the other night to meet up with my mom for a quick bite. You walk in and order at the counter up front. In my humble opinion the counter is too close to the door and/or they need something to designate lines because with all three registers open and employees saying I'm open, people we're still standing waiting for my wife to complete her intricate order. On a super plus, the wife waited till after I paid to say she had a 15% off, the girl ran and found a manager who then fixed our bill. We then found a table and were disappointed with the cleanliness, I had to wipe the seats clean before we sat. The food came out quickly but they forgot to add (grapes) and subtract (onions) items that we requested during ordering. Also my wife's fat free ranch looked like someone had taken regular ranch added a lot of water and called it fat free. I had the chef salad and it was ok, nothing notably bad, but nothing notably good. At the end of the day we'll probably give it one more try if we have a coupon but I doubt we'll be making it a regular stop. read more

Have always seen this on the corner but never went in because I am so picky and always eat at the same 3 places!! Walked into a cute atmosphere with some unique qualities. There is a condiment bar in the middle with all sorts of toppings for salads or pizza. They have a menu that is diverse enough to almost please everyone with salads, pizzas, sandwiches, and desserts. I wasn't ver optimistic when I pulled up but when I walked in everything changed! I would highly recommend and am DEFINITELY coming back for more! I went today after hearing that Newks was finally open and found the experience pretty okay. To me this reminds me of a healthier version of Panera I tried a sandwich and side for lunch and the prices were reasonable in my opinion the salad had too much dressing but I'm sure that something that can be changed with requesting to get it on the side. I honestly don't for see myself coming back here but it's not because the restaurant isn't good it's just not somewhere that I would see myself trying often. My husband and I ate lunch here for the first time today. We were very impressed with the food and the service. My husband had the "Q" sandwich with the side of 5 cheese mac and cheese and I had the Newk's club. The sandwiches came perfectly toasted and were equally delicious. All ingredients were real and top notch. The owner walked around and greeted and spoke to all of the patrons to ensure their satisfaction and thank us for coming. How hard is it to make a salad? Well, apparently Newk's thinks salads are boring because they put cayenne pepper in all their salad dressings. My mouth was on fire, I couldn't eat the one I ordered. Their menu sounded interesting so we thought we would try this new place tonight. Sorry we did. I ordered the French Bistro Steak and Mushroom soup. When it came to our table, a) it was very greasy b)I could not find a piece of steak. There was a tiny piece of crostini with provolone on it. It looked nothing like the picture they advertise. The Manager on Duty was called over. She was definitely not in a good mood. She explained the steak sinks to the bottom as does the cheese. She had no idea what that "green stuff" was in the picture because they have not been told to put green stuff on it. I told her I wanted a different bowl bUt scooped from the bottom. Begrudgingly she complied with my request. This bowl was much better but still needed more cheese. There was none that sank to the bottom. The half Caesar salad I had had way too much dressing and it was very tart. I am not interested in going back. I may have given them a second chance had Mia's attitude been better. Overall, I would not rate this as a good experience. Ordering was a struggle because the people at the front did not know how to put in our order even though we just ordered simple things on the menu. My pizza tasted so cheap and poorly made that it made me feel sick immediately after eating it. It honestly tasted like bowling alley pizza. A great place. Discovered it in Jacksoville and Tallahassee. Now, a new one in Gainesville. Yay! Food is diverse sandwiches, salads and more. As soon as you step in, the order counter is right there. If you are making up your mind of what to order it seems like you are in the way. Clerk is friendly. Intetesting table of condiments. Booths are comfortable. Our order of Newks Q sandwich and a Cobb salad came in 10 minutes! Sandwich plate wass warm. Sandwich had a white bbq sauce that was tasty. Salad size is very generous. Stopped in for the first time tonight, and needless to say I won't go back. Four people in the restaurant and nobody bothered to acknowledge I was there. I admit it was close to closing time for the restaurant, but the door says 9 pm, not 8:50. One lady came around the edge from the other side and gave an expression like she didn't even care, so I left. It's too bad, because the inside looked nice. Unfortunately the building sat idle for about 3 years only to open up and have customer service like this. The restaurant will not last long. read more

The only reason for the 1 star is because the food was actually delicious. However the service was horrendous. At 11 AM, I placed an online order for pick up at 12 noon, while on my work lunch break. When I got there to pick it up at 12:05, it was not ready. It hadn't even been made. My order must have been lost. I didn't get it until 12:20, after watching other online orders were being picked up and in-store customers getting their orders and was barely given an apology.
