Buyer Beware! This store charged us a 25% restocking fee for an oven knob that they had in stock that did not fit our oven. I could understand charging a fee if they had to order this, but it came right off their shelf. To be honest it was very disappointing. We went in there Tuesday afternoon. The 2 ladies working didn't even acknowledge us, we looked around for a bit and still no 'hi', 'how are you?' Nothing at all was said to us. We noticed the prices were higher then going to a local store and buying the items brand new!! We definitely will not be back again. read more

If I could give these guys ZERO stars I would. I was looking at a piece of equipment that was a consignment, the owner asked me to make an offer on it and I thought my offer was fair based on the condition of the equipment. He literally told me: "well if I was the owner of that piece of equipment I'd tell you to go fuck yourself". This piece of equipment has been in their store for over 3 years and I know it because I go in often to buy parts. I have never had a good experience here, and when I found out that the switch I bought on my last trip to Newells I paid $28 for was available at Napa for $6 I was a bit irritated. Terrible business practices! We are about 20 miles away and stopped in to buy a stainless steel table. We were not 100% sure of the size and wanted to buy the smaller one already in stock. We just wanted the option of bringing it back still unopened the next day if we needed the larger size also already in stock to match our others and paying the difference. THEY SAID NO WAY. That there was a 25% Restocking fee and then we would have to still pay the increased amount for the larger on too! We like to buy locally but not this way! Found a much better one online and for less money including 2nd day shipping! They have been in business for a long time and have been the only act in town. ..but now with online buying I don't see how they can continue in business this way for more than a couple more years read more

Don't risk it!!!!! I bought a french fry cutter which did not cut sweet potatoes but rather shredded/mashed them. Now that his item was used (for attempting with only 3 sweet potatoes) they charged a 25% restocking fee! Plus the woman of the office seemed really put out. Outrageous, ridiculous fee for an item which did not perform. Despite their variety I will NEVER go back due to extremely poor customer service. What a shame. Shame on them! read more

Ugh...DO NOT shop here! We spoke with the owner about pricing on several refrigeration pieces we needed for our deli, along with some sinks. We decided to go elsewhere for the refrigeration equipment, simply because they really have NO service department, and were going to charge shipping to their store, and then additional shipping to our location. I received several emails asking where we were purchasing our equipment and why since they had a much better deal. They wanted to sell us a deli case cheaper, but only because it was sold to them by the refrigeration company I was buying from as an outdated piece of stock. When I went in to purchase the sinks, she again interrogated me about where I was buying my equipment and why I went with someone else, all the while I am forced to stand there at the counter (8 months pregnant) breathing the secondhand smoke from her husband behind all the NO SMOKING signs. Disgusting. We will never return. I advise all against it!! Buy online or elsewhere. read more

This is a pretty cool little store. I think they primarily sell to restaurants but it's open to anyone. As such, a lot of their supply will be more than any home cook needs (and more than s/he could afford too - a $1500 deep fryer, wow!), but they do have plenty of smaller items suitable for home use. I was able to get a nice large aluminum pizza peel here that no other kitchen store sold, and for a great price too. The only problems are the interior temperature (it's always so cold in there, well in winter at least), and the location (sort of run down part of town; not where you would expect to find a kitchen store). The store is also pretty gloomy being an old warehouse. But it's worth checking out, especially if it's a specialty utensil you want. read more

You would think in a small town like Redding, where word of mouth is everything, these owners/workers would try to call you back about a product you were searching for. Nope had to call them several times. And it wasnt a product that was unique just a bag of plastic champagne/wine glasses in bulk... geez.. No wonder people go to Sac or Chico for stuff.. read more

These people are horrid. They are over priced, frauds. The happy review from April 2015 is in fact from their son in law trying to make the business seem worthy. It's NOT. They would rather sit on equipment and lose money than sell to you in a decent fashion. They have credit holds with most of their vendors because they don't pay their bills. read more

I know this store is lacking in the ambiance department, but I found some heavy duty aluminum half-sheet baking pans for a great price. I plan to go back for some utensils, some inexpensive plates and maybe a roasting pan. read more

Very disappointed in this place. We actually have done business with them several times and every time they were rude. We kept supporting a local business thinking it would be different next time, but it wasn't. Recently we had bought something there it ended up being the wrong item, plus damaged. After speaking to them about it, they wouldn't work with us to make it right. So we sucked it up and said we'd try and make it work. About a week later we supported them again and purchased another $400 product from them. And after realizing the two just wouldn't work together I called and spoke to the female owner. She was again very rude, unwilling to exchange it without charging me a 25% restocking fee saying she didn't even want the item back because that company isn't in business anymore, and didn't know what she was gonna do with it since it's an odd item (that they admitted to not even knowing they had). Tried for over 30 minutes on the phone to work a deal and was even willing to spend another $1,000 with them and she wouldn't budge. So needless to say, we will never shop there agin and unfortunately will have to take our business to an out of town business. read more
