I called my local plumber, CJM, because our hot water was out. This was June 2025 and our furnace…read moreheats an indirect hot water heater. CJM said the issue was likely a nest or some sort of clog in the chimney so, they recommended Mike Duran from Complete Chimney. Mike came the next day and after looking at my furnace where it exhausted into the chimney told me there were signs of breakdown so the only way to fix it was with a stainless steel liner. He said, "I'm sorry, they are expensive but I only go with the best material." Not knowing about this sort of stuff I said ok I need hot water and for the negative pressure flowing into my basement to stop. A week later Mike shows up without a helper (he said he no showed) and he proceeded to install the liner without assistance. I heard the metal scrapping hard against my gutter and as you can see in the photo below he did a horrible job capping it off. At the end of the day he wanted to talk to me about music and his gigs. This was because I mentioned my son plays guitar, he saw the guitar while working. Maybe quit your day job Mike?? After and hour a two he calls me into the basement and says the liner didn't fix the negative pressure issue. I said ok, what else does he think is causing it. After another two hours I can see is tired and now says he is going to leave... even though I still have the same issue and honestly even worse. We had a mini home reno done after that and Mike said he was unable to come because he was in the hospital. I said to focus on his health but he said the photo he send me was old and he was home. So for the rest of 2025 we suffered in the heat with a negative pressure issue. During the fall and winter it resolved but only to come roaring back again June 2026. When I texted Mike to see what he thought he replied with a nasty message and suggested I seek out someone more qualified. Baffled, I texted him back that I'm not upset but I just need some help. I told him to call me the next day, he said he would at 9:30am. He did not so I called at 10am we had normal conversation and I asked if he could just reach out to anyone he might now that had an idea for a fix. We ended the call without issue and I never herd from him again. Avoid this crook at all costs and honestly I'm disappointed in CJM for putting me in touch with this guy.

Aqua Guys subcontracted Complete Chimney who, on Week 5 of the installation, committed Consumer Fraud by attempting to extort services. Mike Doran said, "If you want this done correctly, you will have to pay twice as much, otherwise I'm going to have to rig it." The City Inspector required a Third Party Inspector who failed the work of Aqua Guys, Complete Chimney, and Pro Chek for not installing the hardware to manufacturers specifications creating a fire hazard. The Third Party Inspector strongly recommended to discontinue use of the installation until it can be completed to safety and inspection standards. Aqua Guys, Complete Chimney, and Pro Chek deliberately put our family and our home in danger for profit, then they tried to cover it up. Then, he was a NO SHOW to another court where another customer had sued him, and a judgement was placed against him. Then, he called in sick to court on December 13. On Tuesday, January 10, 2023, Mike Doran finally showed up at the courthouse. He brought 6 pages of photographs. I brought a full 1.5 inch 3 ring binder of evidence. Unbeknownst to me, Mike Doran admitted his worker that helped put the failed installation into my home is Uncertified. After our testimonies were given, the Honorable Judge advised we would have his decision in 30 days. Mike Doran left the courtroom first. I stayed at the back of the courtroom for about a minute so I could exit the building through the doors on the opposite side of the courthouse. When I exited the courtroom and headed down the stairs away from Mike Doran, he stepped towards me, and, under his breath, but loud enough for me to hear from behind, he said, "You fu-ing little...". In the microsecond I heard the second word, I rapidly turned around, walked directly back into the courtroom and flagged the Bailiff to explain what had happened. He acknowledged it, and I left the courthouse through the opposite side of the building from where Mike Doran had exited. Though I trust the Bailiff completely, before I left the premises, I believed it was important to go back into the courthouse and let the Court Clerk know as well. It is my request that the Court play back the courthouse video so they may see for themselves exactly what happened. In my testimony, I explained to the Honorable Judge that I did not want Mike Doran back on my property because I do not feel safe. In my written testimony, I provided the dates of when Mike Doran had verbally attacked me before. The verbal attack just outside of the courtroom is another specific example of why I do not feel safe. Verbal harassment shall include derogatory remarks, jokes, or slurs, and can include belligerent or threatening words spoken to another. Verbal harassment is unwanted verbal comments which make a person feel bad or unsafe. UPDATE: Mike Doran put his friend, Jon Paul Scully of OMNI Plumbing, up to messaging us on Facebook. Mike Doran is on Jon Paul Scully's Facebook 'Friends' list. These people have no credibility. BUYER BEWARE

Alex is hands down the best plumber in the business--an absolute lifesaver and true expert!…read moreIt is rare to find a trade professional who combines world-class technical expertise with complete honesty and a great personality, but Alex from D.Rohde is in a league of his own. He came highly recommended by other plumbers, and after working with him, it's easy to see why he has such an outstanding reputation. He deserves every bit of credit! I originally hired Alex to upsize my piping and install a water pressure booster pump. From start to finish, his work was flawless. He was extremely thorough in researching and sourcing the exact right parts and pump for my home's setup. Alex was consistently on time for every appointment, extremely friendly and outgoing, and handled the entire project with an incredible level of care. He is meticulously detail-oriented, takes his time, and doesn't cut any corners. While working on the job, Alex also caught several code violations from previous work done by other plumbers and corrected them, so everything was completely up to standard. On top of that, his sharp eye saved me from what could have been an absolute catastrophe; Alex discovered a major crack in my main sewer line in the crawl space that I had no idea existed. If he hadn't spotted it, it would have eventually burst and caused devastating damage. When I hired him to repair the sewer line, he gave me a fair price without ever taking advantage of the situation. Alex is truly an amazing guy, a master of his craft, and the only plumber I will ever trust with my home. D.ROHDE GOT MY BUSINESS OVER ALL THE OTHER QUOTES I RECEIVED BECAUSE OF THE CONFIDENCE I HAD IN ALEX AFTER MEETING HIM FOR THE FIRST TIME. AND MY GUT INSTINCT WAS 100% CORRECT AFTER SEEING THE RESULTS! If you want top-tier work done right the first time by someone who genuinely cares about his customers, call D.Rohde and insist on Alex as your guy! The only negative things I will add are that it seems the company is growing, and in doing so, there are too many people involved in projects. Everyone tends to get lost over who is handling what to the extent that I had to separate my projects (such as the electrician portion) and pull my own permits for him to get things moving along. Also, the invoicing system is very confusing because it does not accurately reflect the parts that were quoted, leading you to believe that you are being misled. This is not the case, as I found out. They are using stock photos of items and should be clearer about that in the invoicing. Also, the invoicing was adding taxes on upgrades when it should not. Also, I am not happy about being charged permit fees to the tune of hundreds of dollars when my town only requires a $60 plumbing permit fee, and they do their own inspection for free. D.Rohde claims this is because they have to send their plumber out for the inspection. They can do better here, and I hope they will address it because I did bring it to several people's attention. When you have such a great asset as Alex, you do not want to lose business because of stupid administrative stuff and nickel-and-diming customers over permit fees (just a bad look). Just be aware of the poor administrative stuff so it doesn't scare you off, because the work is excellent, which is what truly matters!
