TLDR: High Quality Service…read moreFast Turnaround (within the HOUR!!) No Games High Quality (non-OEM) Parts - you'd pay a TON more and wait a few days at the Apple Store to get this fixed. Flawless Repair, Great workmanship. The Backstory: Welp.. it finally happened.. after more than a decade of using several generations of iPhones, my current iPhone 15 Pro Max (ensconced in a usually VERY protective hard rubber case) managed to find its way to a hard tile floor quite energetically, causing the front screen to crack and spiderweb. Argh! All this after a zillion other falls, I suppose the stress finally caught up to that GorillaGlass. I searched high and low via Yelp, and Fix and Go NY seemed to always bubble up to the top of the list in terms of good feedback. So, I texted these guys, and they gave me a solid quote within 3 minutes of my initial inquiry. I asked a few more questions that they answered over the following hour, and before ya know it, I was on the subway over to their store to drop my phone off. While I was there, I also decided to have them replace the original battery with a new one, as my original just wanted to quickly drain. Lastly, for an extra ten bucks, they put on a protective glass screen over my new OLED screen. They expertly applied that protective screen with NO bubbles. Not easy for the mortal man! I was back up and running within the time window promised.. I had errands to run, so I came back about 2 hours later and my phone was all set for pickup. Zero delay. Courteous attentive honest service. Epilogue: I am pretty picky, but I did not notice any degradation in display quality whatsoever. Great workmanship on the repair. The new battery holds its charge way longer than my 2yo original battery. The only thing to be aware of is that the iPhone's hardware configuration status under Settings -Battery will gently report that you have non OEM parts in your iPhone. Not a big deal to me, except maybe at trade-in time, but what can ya do.. I need my phone! lol. All said, my iPhone now works better (longer lasting battery and scratch free display) than it did a week ago even before its nasty fall. PRO TIP: Be aware they do tack on an extra 3% surcharge to your quote if you are using a credit card, but I get that. No problem. PRO TIP 2: If you have an iPhone 17 Pro, they warn that you should get AppleCare if you still can, as the iPhone 17 screens are PRICEY and shatter easily compared to my "old" iPhone15 Pro Max.

Super attention on your needs. You feel like a person, not a…read morenumber. They go the extra mile to make you feel safe about the fix on your device. Not a mere flat quote, but a actual proposal.

King…read moreDigital not only had the one of the lowest prices from the quotes I requested (through Yelp), the work done was top notch! It's been several months now and you can't tell the screen was replaced. No issues with responsiveness, touch sensitivity or anything at all. Highly recommended and will be my first choice in case of future needs.

Take this as your sign to just go to the Apple Store…read more First they placed a Samsung screen on my iPhone 16 Pro Max. Red flag number one! The colors were off and looked terrible, and it had a chin at the bottom. I went back and paid $250 for a proper oled iPhone screen. I was happy with it. I even went back to him weeks later for a screen protector. Everything looked and worked great for 3 months until it didn't. The screen started to glitch when I set it to full brightness then it started to flash and glitch with any movement. Finally my screen just failed. An ideal place would at least have a 90-day warranty or at least try to fix it, especially for a returning customer. He definitely recognized me because I was there 3 times within the past 3 months. Who would want to come back 3 times anyways? He had no intention whatsoever to help me. I asked if he could just check on the screen but he didn't bother answering any questions or concerns. Instead he was rude and I, the customer, had to ask "So how can we fix this?" He wanted $250 AGAIN to make me pay for a new screen. Why would I do that if the first one completely failed? Fool me once. Tuh! He just lost a loyal customer and I cannot recommend this place. You will feel regretful. Just go to the Apple Store so you won't lose out on your money.

However, as someone with over 46 years of…read moreexperience serving the community, government agencies, and local city and law enforcement with technology advice, I feel obligated to be honest. Unfortunately, my experience at Jay Repair was inadequate and unprofessional in several key areas. While the conversation began respectfully, the service itself fell short of reasonable expectations. I had to wait over an hour to have my screen replaced a second time because the first display installed was not designed for the iPhone 14 Pro. It was a screen intended for the iPhone 14, not the Pro model. This mistake should not happen at a repair shop, especially when model-specific hardware differences are well documented. This exact issue happened to me previously with an iPhone 11 Pro in 2023, and unfortunately, it has now happened again. For clarity: There is only one correct display type for iPhone Pro and Pro Max models--the Super Retina XDR display. There is no legitimate "lower HD" version for Pro models. Apple does not promote or support such distinctions on their website. Anyone familiar with Apple technology understands that software and hardware are tightly integrated, and Apple updates each device specifically. That's why repair shops must provide accurate, up-to-date information about replacement screens--especially for newer models like the iPhone 14 Pro, 15 Pro, and 16 Pro, which require Super Retina XDR displays exclusively. As a certified technician myself and a long-term Apple user since the iPhone 3GS, I am well aware of how Apple operates. Despite the inconvenience, delay, and incorrect installation, I was still charged full price, when a price adjustment would have been appropriate--at minimum as compensation for the error and time lost. This is why I'm deducting two stars. I also made the technician aware of excessive heat generation after the screen installation, which is a serious concern. While the shop policy states that a 15-minute repair is not guaranteed, I had already waited far beyond that and should not have been charged again under these circumstances. To be fair, the technician remained calm and mindful, which is why this review stands at 2.5 stars rather than lower. I had also called 20-25 minutes in advance to let the shop know I was on my way, yet the correct display was not available in-store, causing an additional 49-minute delay. I documented this on video as well. I don't want to discredit you as a person, but the service itself reflects a lack of up-to-date technical understanding, which is concerning for a repair shop owner. Technology evolves constantly, and repair practices must evolve with it. We all learn every day--but staying current is essential in this line of work.
