I thought this place was going to be good but clearly when something goes wrong they don't know how to handle it. While the actual service is convenient, the quality of the repair isn't great. I got my phone "fixed" and less than 24 hours later it cracked again after just sitting in my bag. I didn't drop or mishandle it. It's cracking in a weird place which makes me think there was something faulty with the install. I contacted them and the tech said he would have to talk to his manager about the solution. He said they would show the manager pictures and have the him reach out. He never did, so I reached out but never received an answer. Reached out again and still no answer. I've had an iPhone for years so I know that they are not supposed to be this fragile. It's now cracking even more days later and I haven't dropped it at all. The screen is completely falling apart now. So now I'm out $140 with an even worse crack than I had in the first place. read more

I went to get the battery of my iPhone replaced and they broke my phone in the process. It took one week of miscommunications and continuous delays for them to get me an old used phone with a cracked screen and malfunctioning volume button to replace my phone. I am literally BLOWN away by this service! It's so hard to find a place with good customer service in NYC, so I am beyond pleased. This is my first yelp review in well over a year. I cracked my screen a month or so ago, and have been neglecting to get it fixed. This morning, however, I dropped it again and came to terms with the fact that I needed to get it repaired. I first went to Apple, which is right near my work, and as I expected 1) their prices were too high 2) they were going to force me to update my software (to fix a screen?!?!). I walked out and refused Apple's service as I knew that updating to iOS 11 on such an old device would absolutely destroy my phone. I then text Gotham Iphone, referred to me by a friend, and was amazed at how responsive they were. I met Frank at Chelsea market mid work day, as he explained he needed a surface to work on, and he fixed my screen in ~10 minutes. Super friendly guy, and payment was super easy! I just venmoed them. I don't even live in Manhattan, and by no means have the money for cosmetic fixes for all my daily foibles due to clumsiness, but you are one of the few splurges ($120 may not be a splurge for all, and is more than fair for the skill, speed, and convenience they provide, but broke is broke and I am broke ha) I have made of late and not regretted it for a second. My iPhone 5 screen had vertical stripes after I dropped it. Gotham came to my office and replaced the screen but that didn't fix the vertical lines, meaning that the problem was with the motherboard rather than the screen. The repair guy generously agreed to put the old screen back and only charge $20 for the service fee. However, while putting the old screen back, it broke. I was compelled to go ahead and pay the $120 for the new screen even though I knew it wouldn't fix the problem. So now I am out $120 and have a new screen but the iphone is not fixed. read more

Cracked my iPhone 5s on a Sunday night. I called and got a text that someone would be there to repair it early on Monday morning. After Scott came to my house to fix it, when he left I noticed my perception sensor wasn't working (my screen wasn't going dark when I put it to my ear, leading me to attempt a face time call with everyone I called). I texted him and he immediately came back to my place, and spent an hour fixing it, giving me a new LCD and making sure everything worked 100%. It's in perfect working order. My screen was so broken after dropping my phone on the concrete this morning on the way to work that the touch feature completely didn't work. I remembered a friend of mine mentioning that her boss used and loved Gotham so I contacted Gotham this around 9AM-ish requesting a repair through their online form and got an email reply at 10:30AM. They offered to come out at noon but I had a work meeting until 2PM. No problem they said. At 2pm - on the dot - Scott from Gotham called me and was downstairs ready to work on my phone. I handed it to him and 15 minutes later he called me back saying it was ready. He was downstairs with my phone that was working perfectly! I paid him in cash and he said thank you! So let me begin with saying that while I've used Yelp for years, I just signed up so I could write the guys at Gotham iPhone a review. This is my second time (and sadly probably not the last) I have used their service and without a doubt, Corey the BEST iPhone tech I have ever met and I'm sure his brother is just as amazing. I've had Asurion for years, but they always send me shi*ty replacement phones that have issues and charge anywhere from $150-$175. For under $100, Gotham iPhone has given me a brand new phone both times I used the service. The first time, I dropped my phone from my FIFTH floor balcony. The only reason it "survived" was because of my Speck hardshell case (which I also HIGHLY recommend if you are accident prone like me). Sadly, even my case could not help the effects of the inevitable bounce when my phone hit the concrete below, and my screen was SHATTERED. Literally. I had to put it into a plastic bag to prevent the glass from cutting me. Amazingly, the phone still turned on, so with very little hope I searched Yelp for an iphone repair service. Thank the Universe, I found these guys. Though they were out of black screens that day, they made an appointment with me for the following day, and Corey met me at school, on time. He said it was the worse screen he'd ever seen, and I was thankful that he was even willing to give a shot. Long story semi-short: he patiently cleaned out Every shard of glass, bent my bevel back into shape until he got a near perfect fit, and then when he wasn't happy with a small flicker that was appearing in the screen (I was just happy to have a functional phone again) he used screen after screen and repeatedly reset my phone until the display was pretty much perfect. Perfectionist that he is, Corey didn't even charge me the full cost of the screen replacement because my phone wasn't 100% perfect, even though he'd spent over an hour laboring and I'd had little hope of even being able to use the phone again. A few months later, my phone suffered some water damage and after a month or so it started going crazy, the camera went dead and the screen broke again. I'd come across an old iphone that I'd had replaced through Asurion (before I knew about the wonder that is Gotham iphone) not long ago, so I figured I would have the cracked screen replaced and start using my old phone again. Because I have a phone curse, it turned out that the logic board of that phone was dead, so this was not going to be their average 10 minute screen repair. Again, Corey refused to be defeated. He proceeded to take apart both of my phones, test each part, and did not stop until he was able to deliver me a flawlessly functioning phone using the good parts of both. Corey is patient, friendly, and both times I had a great time chatting with him while he spent over an hour fixing my phone/ building me a new one. Not to mention that he's easy on the eyes :) Brilliant business model, perfectionist style and EXCELLENT service. I HIGHLY recommended Gotham iPhone. read more

I cracked the screen on my iPhone 4 this morning while getting off of the subway. My assistant told me about an add she saw for a company that would come to the office and replace my screen. INCREDIBLY impressed with this service! Was about to order a replacement online when I thought I'd give it a shot and email Gotham. I had an old 4S that was REALLY smashed, Literally missing large chunks of the cover and had stopped working all together. I sent an email, heard back within 15 minutes (!?! really.), accessed the issues and had someone at my apartment door within the hour. My previously absolutely destroyed phone looked brand new and was fully functioning within 20 minutes. Im extremely grateful - added plus is I now have access to a lot of texts, pics and videos of a very dear friend that passed suddenly several weeks ago - bits of info I thought I'd never get back because the phone was such a mess. To the Gotham Iphone company, I really wanted this service to work out. The first appointment on March 6pm at 1pm was scheduled, and the assigned tech came just a few minutes late, but it really was no big deal. After tinkering around for a bit, he politely admitted that his last battery on his inventory was dead, and that he needed to reschedule. To my surprise, I received an email from your support team, that stated that you would send one of your repair trucks to the location. So I confirmed, and awaited service. I have heard no response since. I decided to call the following week just to follow up. The operator confirmed an appointment at the same location, just at a different time.
