Very disappointed this visit! I sat at the bar and it was extremely difficult to get the bartender's attention. If she wasn't waiting on customers or ringing up sales she was talking to employees and not paying attention to the bar. The menu shown on Yelp is 3 years out of date and many of the items are not served. I ordered a glass of Riesling and the pork Stacker. Pork was supposed to be shredded but there were large chunks that were very tough that missed the shredder. Also the dish was Bland and needed seasoning. This rating is strictly for the beers I sampled - no food. We decided to make a mid-afternoon beer stop at this brewery, which is a bit off the beaten path. Of the nine breweries we visited over the past five days in and around Beer City USA (Grand Rapids), I have to say that the beers at Newaygo were the best - especially the Coconut Brown Ale and the Baltic Black Lager. Both were full-bodied and flavorful. Some "Hawaiian" breweries (i.e., Kona Brewing and Maui Brewing) may include coconut beers in their lineups, but neither are as good as this one. The Death Rye IPA was impressive as well. read more

Last time we asked the hostess to move from a table by the door to an open booth. This request was completely ignored. Yummy food and beer! The pork tacos are probably my favorite thing on the menu. Very tasty! Good pizza and the sandwiches made with Naan bread are very good-- and a nice change of pace. The pretzel bites and the spicy cheese that comes with them pairs great with beer. They change their beer varieties so my suggestion is to get a flight to sample first. read more

Was really looking forward to trying this place and we were seriously disappointed. First off, what kind of brewery doesn't have at least one burger? Second, one son got a cherry coke and asked for a water as well and when his pop was gone she took it and didn't even ask if he wanted a refill but my other son didn't ask for a water with his lemonade and continued getting refills. Third, my husband told her he wanted to start with a water as he wanted to have some food when he had a beer. She barely checked in on us and he never was able to order a drink. Fourth, our waitress hadn't checked on us for awhile and another server had to bring our food to us. We did not see our waitress again until after we had all finished our food. When she did show up she reeled of smoke. The menu was very small. We got the kettle chips for an appetizer and they were just ok. My husband got the pork stacker and it was not good at all, very blah. One son got a kids pizza and he said it was very good. My other son and I got 2 sliders each and all 4 types were very good. I'm going to paint the picture... I drove around the back to park, as I approached the brewery I decided to snap a pic of the back of the building, immediately after I was greeted by one of the brewers and he asked me if I'd like to come in to see the brewing process. As I took a tour around and talked to the fantastic staff they were telling me how their idea started just 14 months ago and how they've come to where they are now, and the work that they put in is truly noticeable, that have turned a old business front into an absolutely beautiful business. As I sat down at the bar I immediately noticed that that have a wide selection of different types of beer, a selection to please everyone! I ordered the espresso stout, and it is one of the best coffee stouts I've had in a long time, I can easily see this business becoming the cornerstone of Newaygo and bringing more business to a beautiful small town. If anyone loves beer regardless of your taste preference you need to visit this amazing establishment, I promise you that you will be astounded in every possible way. read more

Not a horrible choice for the Newaygo area. Most of the food was good, I definitely don't recommend the lobster rolls , they tasted and looked like imitation crab meat. Otherwise the wine was phenomenal, cherry pie red wine (we ended up buying a bottle). By far the best place to eat and drink in the entire county. Loved the pizza, and the beer was terrific! Pretty much the only place within miles to get an interesting menu AND drinks at the same place. Excellent ambience with friendly staff. Classy interior. There has always been an abundance of uninspired garbage food in Newaygo. Greasy-spoon diners, typical GFS restaurants serving all-you-can-eat fish and Salisbury steak. Also burger joints. Lots of burger joints (the unholy trinity of Wendy's, McDonalds, and Burger King all exist in a town of less than 2000 people). Newaygo has needed a place like this since forever. The Brewers know what they are doing, and this beer is top-notch. Their menu is excellent too. It isn't focused around typical 'Murican "cuisine". There are actually lighter options and even a good selection of vegetarian options that aren't salads! Best place to eat and the best beer in the County. read more

We love Newaygo Brewing! A must stop any time we are in the area!! The breadsticks and pizza are amazing (the Reuben and BBQ chicken are our favorites!). The beer selection is extensive and offers something for everyone! I personally love the cherry cider. The bourbon chocolate shake is awesome (mixed with a little cherry cider is also good!). I'm not a fan of dark beers, but the coconut brown tastes just like a mounds bar! We would come more often if we lived closer!!!! read more

We have previously been here with no problems. However, the last visit service was horrible. We waited 20 minutes and had to go to the host stand to ask for a server. The food was cold. Growing pains. Great atmosphere and decent home brewed beer. Food has room for improvement but the bbq chicken pizza was good. Service is odd. Hostess was slow, first waitress was slow and forgot to put put one order in, but after she went on break we got great service finally. I enjoy eating here, but there are a few problems. First of all, it would really help if there was a place to sit when you're waiting for a table. It's very crowded, especially on weekends. I've had mixed experiences with the service there, but it's a newer business so I won't judge that too harshly. The prices are very steep for the food you get. I'd almost rather get a cheaper pizza at galaxy. I also tried the pretzel bites with beer cheese and it tasted like it came from a freezer and was microwaved. It was our first visit to Newaygo Brewing Co. and we had the best experience! Sam was our server and she was very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. After hearing we drove and hour to experience the pub, Nick, the owner and brew master, came out and gave us a tour. After 2 flights and additional samples of beer, my daughter decided the Coconut Brown was her favorite and the North York English Ale was my husband's. I preferred the red wine. Besides great beers, the food is amazing! Our faves were the brat sliders, pizza, (especially the sweet potato pizza), and for dessert, the chocolate cake with lemon glaze was delicious. I was visiting from California, my first time to Michigan and was very excited to try a local place with local brews as we have a bunch of these awesome places back home. I was happy to see the place not to busy so we could sit right away as we were very hungry. I was happy to see there great drink list and tasty menu, but the server(sam I believe it was) didn't seem to happy we even walked in. We sat down and waited for the rest of our party and ordered some drinks, all great. Sadly the customer service was awful, I felt as if I was bugging the server by just us showing up. I am a server myself and understand that there is bad days but for her to be entirely rude to us and to go over to the bar and clearly talk about our party continuing to look over at us with all three girls at the bar, Very unprofessional and distasteful, at least the girl could do us fake a smile. Hopefully not everyone here in the service industry acts like her. Other than that great food and drinks just maybe need to hire some new happy people to make the place bloom. This little brewery in this little town started out good and is just getting better. The only issue they have had over the first 2 months is they couldn't make enough beer. That is a high quality problem. As of today they have 14 beers on tap. They also recently expanded their menu so there are many choices for good food and great beer. Worst customer service ever.! A big group of us drove from Rockford to watch some college football We wanted to sit so we could see the TV but the waitress told us we couldn't put two tables together because it is too hard to serve and it would scratch the floor! Scratch the floor! They are worried their floor is going to get scratched but don't let your customers sit together! As my wife was moving a bar chair from one table to the other and making a joke, saying better be careful to not scratch the floor, the manager came over and threatened to kick us out. If I could leave a 1/2 star I would; We had the worst experience we have ever had in our lives; the staff was horrific and treated us so rudely. You would think in a small town you would have an owner that would want to get to know everyone, but he was not approachable. Did not seem to want to get to know his patrons. But on a positive note we went across the street to the Sportsmans Bar and had the best night with the best waitress and bartenders. WE will NEVER return to Newaygo Brewing!
