I am extremely grateful for the time and expert training that my dog received from the New York Wolfpack. It's been a game changer in my relationship with my dog and my confidence in walking with my beautiful rottweiler. When I first connected with Talia, I knew that she had a deep understanding of dogs, obedience, and the canine-human relationship. I was fortunate enough that they had a board and train opening, and I did not hesitate to make the investment in professional dog training. Prior to training, my dog was reactive to other dogs who reacted to her, and she was engaging in behavior that I instinctively knew was going to get worse. I LOVE my dog, and I want the best for her. Doug and Talia returned an impeccably well-trained dog, and I am having a wonderful time working with her under their guidance. It's delightful to see my dog light up with joy when she sees Doug for follow-up training sessions. We are continuing to work with my dog in scenarios that she used to find very triggering in such ways that she hardly notices what used to upset her. THANK YOU.

My happy boy Charlie doing some place and wait training in a highly distracting environment

I tried working with a few different dog trainers before I decided to work with New York Wolf Pack and I'm so glad that I did. The first few trainers I worked with were good but had extremely limited availability and had high hourly rates & consultation fees that were out of budget for me. When I adopted Charlie, he was just a 3 month old dalmatian and I had zero experience with training puppies or taking care of an independent, athletic, working dog. Talia and Doug helped me develop the leadership skills I needed to build a strong bond with Charlie. They also provided very clear guidance on how to establish a solid foundation of structure, exercise, communication, and boundaries for Charlie so that he could mature into becoming a confident, calm, well-mannered and happy doggo. Not only did they go above and beyond in responding to all my texts between sessions, they would even meet me and Charlie at Fort Greene and Prospect Park to provide feedback outside of our sessions or go for group walks. After completing about 5 months of puppy training with NYWP, I know that that I've built a lifetime of trust and connection with my sweet and goofy Charlie. Now Charlie is almost 3 yrs old and everyone comments on how well behaved Charlie is, especially at the park off leash, on trains, in cars, inside dog-friendly stores, on escalators, pretty much everywhere. People even assume I'm a dog trainer bc of how bonded we are now and how good he is in any environment! I have to make a point to tell people I was lucky to work with trainers like Talia and Doug. Every dog is different but they do a great job of tailoring their feedback when training each dog/handler duo. Charlie responded very well to the balanced training approach with the prong collar and e collar. I know that I can trust him to not pull at all on the leash on walks, to consistently respond to recall commands, which allows us both more freedom to go for longer walks or hikes in and outside the city.

My incredible experience with Talia and Doug from NY Wolfpack has forever improved my experience as a dog owner. I sent my 1.5 year old (very high energy) Boston Terrier to NY Wolfpack for a 4-week B+T program where he learned skills for loose leash walking, boundaries to control his excitement levels (which were previously very difficult for me to control), and recall/e-collar training for off leash adventures. It's no surprise that raising a well-trained dog in New York City presents significant challenges. Not only is the high-stress environment a factor, but also the proximity to other dogs and their owners who often lack proper boundaries. NY Wolfpack not only provided Nemo with a solid training foundation but also equipped me with the tools, resources, and confidence to reinforce this training every single day. Most importantly, I've learned how to establish boundaries with other dogs and their owners while advocating for my dog. If you're looking to develop a more fulfilling and FUN relationship with your dog (and put in the hard work), start advocating for them by providing them with the training and structure they deserve. Massive thanks to Doug & Talia who continue to provide Nemo and me with incredible support and guidance throughout this journey. I couldn't be more appreciative of their dedication, hard work, and genuine love for dogs.

One of the amazing photos sent to me during Atlas's board and train by Talia and Doug--I had it framed.

Working with Talia and Doug has changed my relationship with my dog for the better and has improved his life quality greatly. Before our board and train, which was almost a year ago now, Atlas was unruly, reactive, and would wriggle out of his harnesses/collars or somehow get out of the yard, leaving me in fear that he'd be hit by a car or otherwise get hurt. It got to the point where I was afraid to even walk him, because if we saw a dog on the walk, he would lunge or drag me to want to see that dog--or even try to get out of his collar and harness to the point where I would have to hold his entire body tightly until the dog walked far enough away that we could resume our walk. (He has never been aggressive reactive, but has always wanted to meet every person and dog we would encounter.) In addition to that, Atlas would completely destroy my house whenever I would have to leave. While he (luckily) never ate my furniture, I did come home to clothes shredded, garbage bags removed from the can and torn open, urine everywhere (even after training him to go out--this was only when I wasn't home), and just general behavior that I deemed unacceptable for my household. When I tell you that I've never had more anxiety surrounding an animal, having had dogs my whole life, I would literally cry thinking about all the things Atlas was missing out on. I couldn't even take him for a quick walk around the neighborhood, let alone have any experiences where he'd have off-leash freedom. I was nervous, at first, leaving Atlas with people for 8 weeks, but I knew it was the best for him and I knew these were the best people to help both of us. (I think I even made a 27-page Google doc of information about Atlas for them... Sorry .) Talia understood my anxiety completely and did everything she could to make me feel at ease. The board and train allowed me the time to learn what works with Atlas without the pressure of having to do it right away. Doug and Talia sent photos and videos every single day of what they were doing, why it was important, and how to continue or improve upon it. They gave me homework (which was so helpful!) and really took the time to answer my questions thoughtfully and in ways I understood. Now, eight months after Atlas has been home, we've had such a better life. Atlas has been with me on trips where we'd hike off-leash using our e-collar. He's run on the beach and through the waves more times than I can count. He doesn't lunge at other dogs and stays pretty neutral around dogs we don't know when we're off-leash (and he is much better at playing with the dogs we *do* know). He is a dream to walk now, and although I *can* leave him unsupervised in the house when I'm gone, he enjoys his crate during those times and I know he's safely snoozing instead of ingesting something that could potentially hurt him. Not to mention--my anxiety is almost nonexistent when it comes to Atlas now. Both Atlas and I now have the tools to go through life and share experiences safely. He gets much more freedom and I have peace of mind. Talia and Doug absolutely changed our lives. (And one of the best perks about joining the Wolfpack--They're around even months/years after the board and train is done for questions or help. Going on a trip? They can board your dog while you're gone... and you know your dog will come back happy, healthy, and won't regress on any training like they might leaving them with a family member or friend. It gives me peace of mind knowing that they're around as people who not only I can trust with my dog, but that my dog trusts as well.) You truly won't regret working with them--but you have to be willing to put in the work, too!

I am genuinely surprised to see someone say that they had a negative experience with NYWP. Talia and Doug are incredible at what they do. My dog Tuna spent 5 weeks with them last year and he was treated with so much compassion, patience, and understanding. My dog went from reactive and insecure to calm and well mannered. I can not express how fun and freeing it is to have such a strong and trusting bond with my dog. They worked in strong collaboration with me to ensure I understood what they were doing with my dog and what i would need to do to be able to maintain the training. It was a lot of work and required a lot from me, and I would do it all again in a heartbeat. The bond i have with Tuna now is something I'll always cherish. He is confident, has incredible recall, trusts me to be a strong leader and truly lives such a calm and full life. The training with did with Talia and Doug created such a strong foundation for us to build on, and has led to us having so many incredible adventures. He's remarkable off leash, he is so well behaved, and I can legitimately take him anywhere without worrying about how he will act. He also trusts me to protect him, lead, and create healthy and strong boundaries. From the second we started, they make it very clear that their priority was clear and effective training and that loving/ training a dog in the way a dog actually needs will ALWAYS be the priority. They we're always respectful and I found them to be firm in all of the best ways. I've received so much guidance and support, and absolutely love being a part of the community they are cultivating. As a person who actually has and continues to work with them, I can't not emphasize enough that they are remarkable trainers. I couldn't recommend them more highly.

I do not want to imagine what my life with my dog would be if I didn't find New York Wolfpack. They are the BEST (Other words when I think of them : life changing, mind blowing, extraordinary, inspiring) . They will do everything in their power to train you to train your dog so you can have the best life together with your dog. Some background: Zulu, my goldendoodle dog, was a typical puppy when we got him. But since this was our first dog, we just didn't know what to do and how to train him. So the first few months of having Zulu were horror - it was legit hell on earth. I was desperatly looking for trainers and none of the trainers I found 1) Really cared for my puppy or me, they were more about the $$ and the # of sessions they can "fix" Zulu 2) Were just planning to use a one size fits all process 3) Took us serious since Zulu was only 18 weeks old. This all changed once I met Talia........ Thank God I met Talia (even to this day, I thank the universe for leading me to this fantastic couple). If it wasn't for Talia and Doug, my husband and I wouldn't be the handlers we are today. Personally, I am more confident, and I know exactly how to work my dog and lead him out of tricky situations while also ensuring he has the best life. We, as a family, have been enabled to train him to provide structure and boundaries, and because of which we are able to take Zulu literally EVERYWHERE. We take him to restaurants, hiking, shopping malls. He has been on every mode of transportation, on escalators, in food courts, beaches, kayaks, paddle boards, loose leash walks, off-leash adventures, parks. Our families allow him to be in their house and around their kids because of how well behaved he is. On top of this, with all the city craziness, we can call him back and put him on heel, and he will listen and always come back. People come home and just cannot believe what a fantastic dog he is. He might be 75% poodle, but he is 100% the goodest boy we have ever seen, and this is all because of New York Wolfpack.I put my blood, sweat, and tears into Zulu, and they did the same with me. The days that were hard, they uplifted me, and the days that were great, they cheered me on We have left Zulu with them for board and trains multiple times, and Zulu always comes back as happy as a clam. Their entire process from confirmation of booking, pick-up, during (including updates on training, things to work on), photos (which btw are epic), and drop-offs were always punctual, professional, and meticulously planned. To this day when Zulu sees them, he gets excited. I still am yet to see a dog that does NOT like them. Even after moving out of NYC, I am still in touch with Talia, getting her guidance on new situations or any genetic questions I have for Zulu. She takes the time to respond and send voice memos, and is always guiding and teaching me to be a better handler for Zulu. They are the most hands-on trainers who will call you out if you're doing something wrong while also guiding you to be best handler. Thank you, Talia and Doug, once again for all the guidance and support you have given me the last 2 years and still continue to give me. I will keep saying this for the rest of my life. PS : If you are truly looking for what's best for you and your dog, and a hands-on trainer willing to get every tool out of their toolkit to find the right solution for your dog, then please do not believe the one-star review and just take the plunge and go with this duo

safe to play off leash from our ecollar training

The owners (Talia & Doug) go above and beyond for giving you and your dog the best experience. Their knowledge, guidance, service - all of it is incredible. I've worked with trainers across states and after a few weeks with them my Male GSD was the most satisfied, lovely, excellent, happy dog. Learning the skills to communicate with him from NY wolfpack cannot be emphasized enough - they went ABOVE and beyond to ensure that I was comfortable with the training too. Talia patiently met with me multiple times to make sure my communication and comfort existed alongside the skills my dog learned. One thing about this place I love is they're serious. They take training seriously; they know having your animal is serious, they take the exchange of knowledge seriously.. all of their wisdom and confidence in training my boy has changed both of our lives, I'm forever grateful. They are the only people in NY I'm comfortable handling my dog, and worth every single penny of how they price their services. Highly recommend.

I brought my german shepherd Bella for board and train a couple of months ago. She was extremely reactive mainly to other dogs and I could not walk her without her pulling on the leash, her life was limited because I would develop anxiety any time I took her on walks fearing coming across another dog. Along with that she ran the household and did things her way. Talia and Doug at the NY Wolfpack completely helped change our life for the better. Bella is no longer reactive, she is no longer spoiled/demanding the household around, no more pulling on the leash, and she is going to parks with a 30-foot leash to free to roam as she pleases. It didn't come without the hard work of the NY Wolfpack and continuing the work of her training as she is back home now. They are hands down one of the best if not the best trainers I've ever come across and I'm so happy and thankful for their care for Bella. If you are going to trust your dog with anyone and want actual real change/improvement for your dog this is the only place I will recommend

I became reluctant to do things with Gus because I was fearful he would growl/bark/act inappropriately when meeting new people. I was at my wits end and I consulted with a well respected training program here in NYC that said he was a "moderate to severe case" and would need multiple weeks of boarding training + years of follow up training to address his issues. Anthony solved Gus's problems in 1 session. Yes, 1 session... Within seconds of meeting him, Anthony just "got" Gus. His advice and feedback was completely different from the feedback I got from the other trainers and Gus responded immediately. I am not exaggerating when I say that Gus has not growled or barked at a single stranger since working with Anthony. I have been able to do so much with Gus and he seems so much calmer, happier and more confident than he was before. I only wish I had reached out to Anthony a year and a half ago. TL;DR- Don't waste your time or money with other trainers. Call Anthony today. You will be glad you did.

I couldn't get his attention and he was all over the place on walks, doing whatever he pleased. I was distressed at the thought of not being able to train him and having to send him back to the shelter. Then we started working with Twahlee and we finally saw changes in Taz's behavior. I bought a package for my then-11-yr-old Puli, who I'd recently brought to NY after spending the majority of her life living with my mom in Florida. My dog is quite anxious and barks a lot, and struggled with the transition from living with one person to 8 overnight. I sought Twahlee's help in correcting my dog's anxious tendencies because at this stage of her life, the proper training techniques Twahlee has to offer would have been extremely difficult to implement. He helped give me an array of tools to help teach my dog stronger obedience, which would then lead to greater control over my dog. About 2 years later, I moved into a new home with a housemate who has a dog that can be aggressive with other dogs. Because I hadn't used my entire package, I asked Twahlee if there was a chance he could come by and apply one of my pre-paid classes to visit our home and assess how the two dogs exist in the home. He let me know that packages expire after one year, but that he would come anyway, because ultimately he just wants to help others. This was highly generous of him to do, and I'm extremely grateful for his flexibility. At the end of the day, choosing to work with a trainer is less so to train your dog than to train yourself on how to better manage your pet, and Twahlee did a great educating me on areas I could be doing better. His help and kindness over the last few years has been greatly appreciated, and I can say with great confidence he can make a meaningful difference in every dog and trainer's life.
