I would have much preferred one traditional, full-sized arancini because even combined, I'm not sure everything on the plate amounted to one. The pizza was good and ultimately the saving grace of the meal, but it wasn't anything that blew me away. For the price, I expected a higher level of quality, particularly when it came to the ingredients. I've had considerably better pizza made with better ingredients for roughly the same price elsewhere, even if admittedly not in Syracuse. The restaurant itself is very attractive and has a great atmosphere, but the food simply didn't justify the price for me. I left feeling like much of Apizza Regionale's appeal comes from the lack of serious competition for this particular style of restaurant in Syracuse rather than the food standing out on its own. He still had a few slices left from lunch, so I grabbed one of those. It was excellent New York style thin crust. Perfect for an afternoon snack. Bathroom was clean, parking was easy, food was good, and the pizza chef was a cool dude. There's a few booths for seating indoors and, at least in the summer, two tables outside. I'll gladly stop here next time I'm in town and need a bite.
