Sadly I have to rate NY nails 2 two stars. I hate to do it cause all the girls working here are extremely friendly and welcoming. However, the quality of the mani pedis here are super low. A mani pedi cost $25, and you get exactly what you pay for. The last three times I came here I left satisfied because the workers are so friendly. But every single time I got a mani and pedi my manicure already started chipping and peeling away either one or two days later. My cuticles still looked a complete mess a few hours after leaving the salon. After two days, it looked like a needed another manicure. Definitely not ok. Usually pedicure for me last 3-4 weeks but here my pedicure barely lasted to weeks. The lady didn't put enough top coat. When she was doing my mani I saw that the bottle of top coat BARELY had anything left in it, and the bottle was old and crusty. When my top coat dried, I could see it was applied very unevenly and the top coat was extremely thick and lumpy, meaning it was old. When I got home a few hours later I saw that the paint already started chipping away at the top! I also doubt the cleanliness here. The place is extremely dusty, nail polish and old stains everywhere on the chairs, they use unpackaged tools, and one time the towel they used to set my hands in for my mani was already wet before they even soaked my hands; it seemed as if they used the towel for a client before me. Just gross. The windows and vase of sticks sitting in the corner is all covered in dust. Definitely not hygienic. I love that mani and pedis here are so cheap, but like I said you get what you pay for. Although the services are cheap, the quality is cheap as well. The ladies here are friendly and I hate to rate the place so low but the quality just isn't there. I gave this place 3 or 4 chances, but after my last mani pedi already peeling and chipping away after just one day I give up on coming back. read more

The first time I came here they turned me away because it was too busy. So I made an appointment and it doesnt seem to have made a difference. I'm writing this review as I sit here waiting for someone to come do my pedi. Got seated for my pedicure after 40 min of waiting when I had an appointment. Their excuse is that someone couldn't come to work today, but they should've told me that on the phone when I made an appointment this morning. No excuse for poor prioritization on their part. Don't even bother coming here their color selection is weak AF anyway. And they don't have real foot spas. Nice people but they don't prioritize properly. read more

Lets be fair, you can't expect a 5 diamond nail place with sophisticated massage spa chair in a local neighborhood paying only $25 for mani and pedi. This place deserves all of my 5 stars just for being so close to my place, excellent service, with awesome ocean view and good low price. Giah and Lena worked my feet and nails, respectively. They were friendly, Lena's 3 yr old girl and husband were there when I was getting my service. They were talking to another client and me about their last trip to Hawaii. I was not in a hurry to leave the place at all, so was the other customer. Funny, it felt like I was visiting a girlfriend to get my nails done as I ended my visit saying to 'Go home and take your nap baby girl' to Lena's daughter :) Oh yeah, its been a week since I got my mani/pedi. My mani is still intact and I cook 5 times a week. Go figure! Will definitely see them again next weekend before my party! read more

This place is great! $25 for a mani/pedi; $9 mani and $16 pedi. I had Leena (spelling sorry) and she did a great job! I am always picky with my toes because I really want them to do a good job cleaning the cuticles and she sure did. It was a great job for a cheap price and she massaged my feet for awhile, which was heavenly! And you get to stare at the ocean, I mean you can't really beat that. When I visits inlaws here in Pacifica I usually go to Valerie's on Crespi... Never again! At first I was skeptical of the water basin but realized this wasn't nasty recycled water going over and over.the pedicure was super pleasant and thorough. I like the OPI gel machine it's super fast.. I do have to say that the one girl who did my gel didn't paint my thumb completely all the way to the side, but I'm still pleased. The interior is nice, the carpet could be removed its old looking but the rest is pleasing. I will return once back in town. read more

This place took me as a walk-in(w/o an appt.). I had to wait about 15 minutes before I got into a chair. I just needed a pedicure which is $16. The lady who did it was super nice and friendly. She took her time and made me feel comfortable. But when she finally finished, my toenails were uneven in length with some lopsided. Considering the wait, customer service, price, and skill level, I'd give them 2.5 stars. This rating is in the middle(50%) and that's what they are...average. *One other thing, I heard a lot of aggressive up-selling of add-ons being done to customers. read more

Our new nail destination. I'm a mom to a fairly well-behaved 6 year old girl. A girly-girl, the kiddo LOVES to get her little (ok not so little) feet done. But I'm cautious about where I take her - usually because I want to make sure she's in a calm, polite space and not likely to "kid up" the place. Face it - we get our nails done, in part, because it's relaxing, right? Kid noise isn't meant to be part of the experience. Moving on... Daughter and I walked in and had to wait a bit. Fine. But the two ladies there were attentive. The vibe was low-key bustle, but well ordered. Great selection of colors, all clean and tidy. Simple setting - massage chairs with footbaths, not pedicure chairs (just as well, since I usually feel they're too tall for comfort getting into and out of). Kiddo started out more restless and annoying than usual. I was concerned (and ready to reschedule). But after a light rebuke, she fell into line. The gentle, reassuring and blessedly patient girl who started to work on kiddo made it easy - for her and everyone. Totally not their job to calm the wild beast. That's my gig. But I was impressed that they treated her with kindness and respect. Don't get me wrong, she wasn't being outright rude, just restless. The gentle touch mellowed her right out. Mom's experience was the same - I felt pampered and calmed. That's how it should be. Low stress, good mani/pedi. Prices were very fair, and the sun setting into the Pacific - throwing a gorgeous golden light all over the room? Beautiful. Go whenever your nails need attention. Yes 5 stars! That just happened! And they deserve it! I went to a different place because I am knew to the area and had no idea where to go. However, despite their website saying they were open till 6 they were not open at 4:45pm. So I headed on over the New York Nails 2, i saw their open sign on my way to the other place and decided to turn around and check them out even though the place seemed so unassuming. I walked in and was greeted nicely and promptly. I got an eyebrow wax and a gel manicure. $39 (eyebrow wax $9, gel manicure $30) and i must say my eyebrows look good and my nails look phenomenal...... I have gone to many many nail salons and this is the BEST they have ever looked. And for SUCH a great price! I am sold. I will be back New York Nails 2. SO HAPPY I FOUND THIS PLACE :) read more

I am shocked that this place has a 4 star review! i normally go to refresh nails and i absolutly love them, they are perfectionist! i only tried new york nails because i had a gift card. i got a fill and a paint job. lets start with the fill, ...... it is so poorley done that you can see un even acyrlic. The paint,..... she didnt even paint the sides of my nail! i just got them done Sunday and they are already lifting!!!!!! it hasnt even been a week!!!!!!! im floored absolutly floored. needless to say i will not be going back to that hole in the wall shop. I used to come here for eyebrow waxing regularly until I discovered the wonderful art of threading. If you prefer waxing, their service is cheap and they do a pretty good job for the most part. The other day, I came for a mani pedi because I didn't want to deal with SF parking. I called to make a same-day appt for a gel mani and pedi, but I ended up waiting almost 30 minutes after the time we scheduled for because they weren't finished with their other customers yet. At least they have massage chairs and 2 people worked on my mani pedi simultaneously so it didn't take as much time. The women who run this place are friendly, but they converse in Vietnamese pretty much the entire time. They'll take the time to acknowledge you at some point. I had a good experience here, but my gel mani started chipping in the same week and my nails weren't that even. I swear I think I have OCD when it comes to my nails because I cannot stand chipped nail polish. At all. So I removed it and now I feel like I wasted $25. :( I'll probably be trying a new place next time. read more

I just found this little gem, and I love it! I can't say enough about how the nails ( that they so gently placed over my bitten down horribly nuerotic looking nails - Stayed on. My pedicure was lovey, and my eyebrows were spot-on. The music they play is very nice and the prices are fab! The $1 store next door is also quite the deal! The girls here are really nice but unfortunately my mani/pedi never last more than a few days. Plus everytime I come here they charge me a different price for the same service. This is my favorite nail place of all time! They do an amazing job, are kind, flexible with my crazy schedule and accommodating for walk-ins. There are ocean views and the best prices around. I had a 12:30pm appointment for an acrylic fill and a regular pedicure and I was not helped/put in a pedicure chair until 1:15pm. I had to be somewhere at 2:30pm so I only got the acrylic fill and would come back for a pedicure on another day. It was a Friday so it was understandable that they were busy but with an appointment I did expect to be seated earlier than I was. The actual job itself was very good and the ladies there were very very nice and talkative which is dedicated important to me as a customer. The nail work is great but the time management needs some work. I would suggest making an appointment during the week and not on Friday/Saturday. read more

I literally just got back from getting a mani/pedi. I needed a quick fix near my house and remembered seeing a nail salon near the post office in pacifica. I was pleasantly greeted by Giah and Lena. The place is cozy, clean and welcoming. They have a good selection of OPI nail polish. The massage chairs face a small TV, as well as the ocean =) Giah and Lena engaged in conversation and were really sweet. All the clients who were there were all regulars. This place doesn't deserve the 4 star review it has on yelp, so I felt I needed to review it. I made an appointment a week in advance, and arrived 5 minutes early. I ended up waiting 45 minutes, and they looked at me like I was an inconvenience as all of the ladies were busy with other people. I just moved to the area and would like to become a regular at places I like. Now maybe I'm used to better service but their gel manicure was shotty at best, and chipped in less than a week. Rockin' my turqoise/ tiffany blue matching gel mani and pedi. Their deal is pretty awesome $38 for gel mani and regular pedi. The place is clean, cute and most importantly, sanitary!! The girls are fun to chat with and very meticulous with their work. I am very particular with getting all the cuticles removed, I didn't have to ask for it, job was done pretty well. I made an appointment here and was expected to get right in... well that was not the case I had to wait like 10 or 15 mins. before I was worked on (which isn't a big deal, but if you are in a rush it is) they only had three or four people working and they were turning people away telling them to come back in half an hour. They say they aren't busy on Sundays and I went on a Saturday... So if you are going to go maybe go during the week or on a Sunday to see if they are really busy or not. I probably won't come here again seeing that I don't get my nails done on this side of the bay anyways. read more

Came here twice and got a mani, pedi, and eyebrow wax. It's a really small salon but it doesn't get too busy or crowded. The technicians are really nice and personable. 3.5 Stars Came here to get my nails done before going on vacation. I was going to Puerto Vallarta, so I knew I'd have to get a gel manicure to last with all the pool/ocean time. :) I had called to see what their price was and it was pretty good compared to a place nearby. The lady who answered the phone even asked if I wanted to make an appointment and after I said yes, she didn't even ask for my name. When I arrived, I was seated immediately and didn't have to wait. After I chose my colors, I had 2 different women work on me. Unfortunately, I didn't get their names. The one that was doing my pedi was awesome!! However, the woman doing my mani was kinda rough. Got the spa pedicure not realizing it was any different from the original pedicure I always get and was floored! The best pedicure I have ever had! They scrubed my feet and legs with this mango scented scrub then covered them with a thick cream and wrapped with saran wrap. After about 5-10 min they remove and give you a hot oil massage, the best part, all while your relax in their massage chairs. Am addicted to it now. So relaxing and well worth the price. read more

I've been to this particular salon on multiple occasions. I have never had a problem with the way my nails look afterwards - ladies are very talented. However, I have never seen any of the staff clean their tools. They will go from one client straight to the next without cleaning tools.
