The shop went ahead with the replacement without telling me beforehand that they couldn't calibrate my vehicle's safety system afterward. Only after the job was done did they tell me I'd need to go to the dealership and pay almost $600 out of pocket to get the calibration done -- with just a "you can try to get reimbursed" comment. That's not how you handle customers. If you know you can't complete the full service that a modern windshield replacement requires, you should notify customers before doing the work so they can decide if they want to go elsewhere. I expected full transparency, not an expensive surprise after the fact. Poor communication and bad business practice overall.

Take it to Doug Lothrop at Auto Glass Centre in Middle bro the RV repair shop said. Boy that was one of the best recommendations I've ever had. Doug took care of everything. My insurance company was slow to react, but Doug thought ahead and ordered ahead. The sticker ran out while the RV was at the repair shop, so Doug drove over there to replace the glass, saving me from driving to the repair place and then back to his place, etc, etc. He saved me a half day of driving and did a first-rate job replacing the glass. Now I have a beautiful new windshield and I can pick up the newly-inspected RV on my own schedule. For competence, flexibility, and pleasure to deal with just go to see Doug in Middleboro. Of course, he does cars, too.

I have used this company before and was very satisfied with their work, which is why this experience was extremely disappointing. I scheduled a glass replacement for Monday, but later realized I would be out of town for five days. When the office asked if I had a garage due to rain, I left my car in the garage unlocked with the garage opener and keys so the work could be completed in my absence. The problem isn't the payment policy -- I understand that payment is required before service. The issue is that I was never informed ahead of time that payment needed to be made prior to the appointment. Despite knowing I wouldn't be at the house, a technician was sent who apparently wasn't aware no one would be home or that payment hadn't been processed. If I had been told in advance, I would have paid immediately and avoided this situation. Instead, I was called while out of town and told they couldn't replace the glass until payment was made. When I contacted the office to resolve it, I was met with attitude as if I were the problem, even though the miscommunication was clearly on their side. One of the owners said he would call me back -- that call never happened. This experience reflects poor communication and customer service and completely overshadowed the positive experience I had in the past. I am very disappointed and hope the company takes steps to ensure better communication for future customers.

They did this back in Oct of last year and the reason I'm posting this review now is because I wanted to give my windshield some time under the elements before I gave my final thoughts. Also for reference I have the sensor thing in the front you can see in the busted photo that dark square. They didn't recalibrate it, they only replaced the windshield so that should show in itself how gentle and efficient they were. I haven't had issues at all with my sensors. The windshield itself is still in great condition and KNOCK ON WOOD no chips or damage. I've gone through car washes, being buried in the snow and the heavy rain we've had the past month. The quality of that windshield I would say is 10/10. I would recommend these guys for your window needs!!

Unfortunately insurance wouldn't cover a new one so we had to private pay. I called around for prices and availability. Jesus from Empire was the cheapest by far. He had the window in the next day. They were on time and very knowledgeable! Empire Auto Glass was very professional and I would highly recommend them!
