Everyone, this restaurant is a hidden gem off Bells Ferry Rd. Before COVID, my Wife and I frequented this Thai eatery 3-4 times a week because the food is so-super delicious and they had an awesome 5-course meal! Would love to see Peter bring that back! Anyway, you can always expect fresh ingredients, flavor galore and impeccable service. The business is family-owned and the entire staff takes pride in taking care of their customers, making for a pleasant overall experience. The restaurant is always clean and quaint. Every dish I have tried is fantastic, especially the Pad See Ew, and the spring rolls and coconut ice cream are out of this world! Due to staffing issues that most restaurants have faced since COVID, you may want to call for lunch and dinner days/hours if you plan to dine there. Even if the restaurant dining room is closed you can call and take out ---- the food is still delicious, but the ambient dine in experience is perfect! My husband and I had a lovely and affordable lunch at the New Thai Ginger restaurant in Acworth. It's located in a small strip mall. The dining area was very clean. Waiter was attentive. I had the Pad See Ew with shrimp and hubby had Pad Thai with chicken. The portion size was adequate and included small soup. Our dishes were fresh and tasty. I would have given it 5 stars, but they did not have a Spicy Tray. I recommend this for anyone wanting good Thai food. We will definitely be back! read more

Been about 3 times with different people. Food: Always good food. My go-to is usually the Pad See Ee. It's a flat rice noodle with veggies and your choice of meat. Very flavorful! I've also tried their duck and pad thai dishes while out with friends. Can't go wrong with the classics! Their dinners also come with a fresh, hot spring roll and your choice of a soup or salad. I've had the Tom yum and their coconut soup. Tom yum is more tangy whereas the coconut soup is more mild. It's not like a milk/cream soup- both are pretty thin consistency. Last time I went, we also had complimentary ice cream! They had a wide selection and it's just a nice little scoop to refresh your mouth. I believe they have other dessert options- including Thai tea. Service: The people are very friendly and helpful. However, here is where they lost a star from me. Although they're kind, the wait time is obscenely long for a meal. If you're coming in to eat, plan ample time to enjoy your meal. If you're in a rush, you might have to call in ahead and just grab it to-go. Pro-tip: I don't know if this still applies but last time I checked, they give KSU students a discount! This place is very unassuming from the outside, and they currently (at least the last time I went) are not seating inside so it's just carryout or delivery. But the food is absolutely fabulous! Am glad I tried this place out, it's one of my favorite places to hit now. The only downside is that they apparently do not have the staff to handle people eating at the restaurant, but hopefully soon they can get that rectified - it looks like a nice place inside. read more

Food was not very impressive, which i had high hopes from the reviews. Got red curry, pad thai and the shrimp appetizer. The red curry had raw vegetables which some were cut in huge chunks and others were bite sized pieces, the Thai eggplant was turning bad, the curry was watered down and had very little flavor. The pad that was dry and the shrimp were overcooked. The shrimp were the best part of the meal and they weren't good either. This place came recommended from a friend and it was a huge let down. Really disappointed that this restaurant still only does takeout after the pandemic. The indoor experience was amazing along with the attentiveness of the staff. The takeout was not up to par and I dare say I will not be back unless indoor dining opens up. The to go salad was the tiniest I've ever seen. I miss the cracker thing with peanut sauce as appetizer. (It was not included.) The main food was fine but the sauces were not available. I have been going to this establishment for 12 years and a bit saddened by this last experience. The service was great. They were very attentive and fast. The seating is a little awkward. There was one other table seated when we arrived and they sat us right beside them. So it was hard to have a remotely private conversation. Once more tables where seated there was a moderate noise level where it felt more comfortable to converse. The food was just ok. It was a lacking of flavor. We mixed our food up and that helped, but it was still lacking. All entrees come with a small ice cream dessert. That was a pleasant surprise. read more

I hate giving bad reviews, but when deserved I do. This was our first time to New Thai Ginger & we went based on positive Yelp reviews. I've eaten Thai food hundreds of times in 26 states, so I have a decent sense of what I think good Thai should taste. Appetizer: The Crystal Roll, which in every other restaurant I've eaten in was rice paper - here it was fried like an egg roll, very disappointing & extremely greasy, enough so that we both stopped after two bites.That was our mistake for not reading the menu more closely to see their odd naming convention. Soup: We both love Tom ka Kai (coconut milk soup) & both found this to be very watery, with almost no contents, & almost tasteless. Another real disappointment. Entree: I had Panang Curry which is the dish I use to gauge Thai restaurants by. I know Panang Curry as being thick, salty & sweet, with a nutty peanut flavor. Their version, like the Tom ka Kai, was very watery with almost no taste. There was some heat, but zero taste. A major disappointment. Entree: My lady had Basil Steak, a "Chef's Special". She said the meat was tasteless, the gravy bland, & the vegetables uninspiring. She stopped eating with 3/4 of her meal left on the plate. It was poor enough that she didn't ask for a go box. Service: There were only two people working the dining room & register. To say the service was slow would be a compliment. I started to leave a gratuity commensurate with the service, but changed my mind & left 20% because not having sufficient staff isn't the fault of the poor little waitress running her tail off, it's the fault of poor management. I gave two stars because I feel 1 star would mean food poisoning. Granted, Thai food may be made very different in Acworth, GA than in the 25 other states I've had it, but I seriously doubt it. My wife and I stopped in for lunch. She ordered Pad Thai and I had the Pineapple fried rice. Salad or salad came with it, the coconut soup tasted like pure coconut milk no seasoning I had 1 spoonful and that was all. The fried rice had good tasting Pineapple but otherwise plain tasting. My wife said the Pad Thai was tasteless and asked for some shredded carrots, she was told they had none even though she had some on her salad. We won't return. read more

Driving down Bells Ferry, I commented to my husband, "this restaurant has been in business for as long as we've lived here. They've got to be doing something right." So I got home, looked up Thai Ginger on Yelp -- and was delighted to see a number of positive reviews. If you arrive between 4:30 and 7:30, you're entitled to their "Happy Hour" special. Basically, for the price of your entrée you get salad or a gratis bowl of soup, a spring roll, and a dish of ice cream for dessert. We based our choice of entrées on fellow Yelpers' recommendations: green curry chicken and tamarind duck. Both were so good. The duck was moist and flavorful, the skin crisp and tasty. The curry arrived mild -- just as we asked -- but with subtle zing to keep it interesting. And as far as the freebies: I love coconut chicken soup (tom ka kai) and Thai Ginger does a fine job. It's not as rich as what I'm used to, and they might go heavier on the lemon grass, but you certainly taste cilantro (which is one of my favorite herbs.) The spring roll was ... a spring roll -- I would have preferred a basil roll -- and dessert: what a nice touch! Expecting them to serve only vanilla, the server (who I believe is the owner) offered butter pecan, strawberry, coconut and a couple of other flavors. I never considered going to Thai Ginger because of its lackluster façade and middle-of-nowhere location -- but you know what they say about judging a book by its cover...... read more

My first time and I Loved it. Carried out with other KSU colleagues. Lunch portion was a very decent size. You get soup or salad with your entree. I enjoyed drunken noodles with chicken, and I thought they very generous with the meat. Spice level was good , but I requested chili paste on the side for extra heat. I can say only the best for this place. Been coming here for years, as I live just down the street. Their service is exceptional!! I always order the panang curry, with tofu and a side house salad with ginger sauce (which is my favorite thing that exists) and I love that they ask whether I want my tofu fried or not, I always want it fried. I ate here when I was a vegetarian for years and it is hands down the best crispy tofu EVER, I don't know how they do it. If you've had bad experiences with tofu (the silken soft jiggly kind), I urge you to try it again at Thai Ginger, you will be pleasantly surprised. read more

Stopped by on Mother's Day for their "dinner special" and was quite impressed by the food. The meal started with some small crispy rice cakes with a sweet & spicy peanut sauce followed by some spring rolls, then we got two cups of Tom ka Kai (coconut milk and chicken). So far, everything has been tasty!! Our main dishes were Basil Fried Rice with chicken and Rama King's Dish (choice of meat with red curry sauce, crushed peanuts over mixed veggies plus rice). The spices and heat in our dishes were fantastic and not too hot as to be overwhelming. The coconut ice cream was a delicious palette cleanser and helped cool down our mouths. The dish even came chilled which was a nice surprise! Before we left, we ordered a Thai iced coffee since I had never had one... oh goodness. I should've ordered one to-go! I was driving from Nashville to Atlanta and wanted to find some delicious Thai food along my route and Thai Ginger was it! The other Yelp reviewers are right--the food is delicious, authentic, and affordable. Medium spicy Pad Thai was amazing (A) and the best my wife have ever eaten and she only ever orders Pad Thai at restaurants where it is on the menu. My Cashew Nut was such a good value. I ordered it with beef (A) but I would bet that based on the taste it would be great with chicken or pork here too. My friends who were wanting Thai had eaten at many restaurants in Thailand and said that their meals, Sweet and Sour (B+) and Green Curry (A), were authentic tasting and similar to the flavor and quality they found in Thailand during their trips there. We got the Thai Iced Tea and Hot Jasmine Tea as well and enjoyed them. I am one of those people who is anxious about trying ethnic food in the middle of nowhere in the Southeastern US. Especially when a restaurant is not busy when I arrive at the hostess station. All in all, this place was a more than pleasant surprise, I will come back again, and highly recommend it. read more

It's better than average I would say for the suburbs but very consistent in quality which gives it an additional star. The Pad Thai is very good. The pad se we not so much.
