This is my THIRD experience with Bangkok Cabin. The first was dine in and I was pleasantly surprised, as well as pleased, by not only the service but the quality of food. If you've driven past or been to this place, it's easy to miss and doesn't necessarily scream "must visit." The next visit was take-out. The food was just as good, although I think it's best when served hot. Yesterday's order was for a VERY special event. The order was large (for several people) with some specifications. When I walked in the restaurant, my receipt was there waiting for me to sign (I placed the order online). EVERYTHING was spot on! As requested - and perhaps their norm - they labeled every single item. The food was made fresh and not a single item was missing. I ordered nine lunch entrees and the total was ~$160! And this included the side item that came with each order. The portion sizes were for two meals, at a minimum. And again, only fresh ingredients. If you're ever in the Kennesaw area and looking for authentic Thai food, I recommend this place 10/10!!! read more

I have lived in East Cobb for 25 years and just learned about this place on TikTok. My husband, my oldest daughter and I went there tonight. First, parking can be tricky because it's a very small lot but that is the only negative at this place. The restaurant is in a house and you enter from the back. It's extremely warm and cozy. Very much like you're in an older relative's home. The menu was pretty vast so narrowing down is hard. Service is very attentive and kind but please do not expect the food to come out quickly. Service isn't slow but the restaurant is on the smaller side, it's busy and items are made to order so this isn't going to be a fast meal which was fine with us. We started off with an order of spring rolls and an order of cheese rolls. Both were amazing. I ordered my favorite Thai dish, Pad Prik shrimp without mushrooms medium heat. This is my ultimate comfort dish with peppers, onions, rice, basil and shrimp with just enough heat to give it a kick but not be overpowering. I'm attaching a picture of it. My husband ordered the Red Curry Chicken and it was delicious too in a huge bowl. My daughter ordered the Spaghetti Kee Mao mixed seafood. If you are not a fan of vegetables, you might not want this but there were a lot of vegetables but it was still a great and flavorful stir fry. My daughter also ordered the Thai Iced Coffee. I tried it even though I'm not a coffee person and it honestly was good. It had a dark chocolate taste with a hint of cardamon. I would actually order this myself and I never get coffee. We left with so much food we can all get at least one more meal out of the leftovers maybe more. Definitely worth the visit. read more

Should be called Bangkok shack. Its an old house that probably would not pass a home inspection, and certainly not be insured. Then there's the food. My dumplings were still frozen in the middle, so they were definitely not fresh. The curry I had once met a curry dish and said they liked the name but not the taste, i.e. it was not flavorful or spicy. In fact, it is the worst Thai like food I have ever eaten. I ordered the Pad Thai, spring rolls, and salad with ginger dressing. I didn't enjoy anything but I recommend that you give it a try. The restaurant itself is very cozy. I wanted to let everyone know that they do catering. And the food and service they provide is still above reproach. We walked in and gave a large order for a party we threw a few months back and they took the order and a deposit. And they called us to confirm the order the week of the event. And then called the day of the event to le us know things were ready for pick up. They help us load the food into our cars and we were off. The food was still just as good as eating there fresh and hot. Our guests could not get enough of the food. We had 2 large pans of Bangkok noodles with beef Two large pans of curries (yellow and masaman both with chicken). Half pan of spring rolls and chicken satay. A two large pans of basil fried rice with chicken. And a half pan of the same dish but vegan (and that is the other point to make. If you tell them you want vegan dish they make it strict vegan. And will even clarify if you want egg or not since some people get vegan and vegaterian confused) And we did the curries we ordered with chicken as vegan and tofu. read more

Have been going there for 6 or 7 years. Food has always been great in general, but they are also very good at adjusting the spice level to each person's preference. Zero or very little spice for me. More spicey for other members of our family. Never had any problem with service. We love eating on the screened in front porch the best. I truly love this place and it is out of the way of all the hustle and bustle. And as you come in the door you are greeted with a smile and everyone is friendly and every one is like family . And the food is delicious. It is a small place and the parking is limited but don't let that turn you away because you will be missing out on a wonderful place and great food. Food was CONTAMINATED twice that I know of. I let the first incident slide because I had pretty much become a regular and the service seemed very nice, but overtime, certain employees became less friendly as if I wasn't spending enough money or something. I would get a few sides of veggies and rice and some spring rolls here and there. One time they blatantly asked me why don't you try something new you seem to always get the same thing. I told them maybe I will try something new. But I was happy with just getting what I was already getting on top of that, I'm coming in like every other day. You would think that they would appreciate your patronage in general. But obviously they didn't. So back to the first incident I'm sitting here eating my food finishing everything up. I had a Thai milk tea as I'm finishing my Thai milk tea. Something comes into my mouth out of the straw. I quickly spit it out. Low and behold, it's a freaking roach. No way in the world would I ever give them my business again that's what I thought to myself. But then I thought these people have treated me so well surely it was a mistake. Keep in mind I would never ever ever let something like this slide But unfortunately I did. And maybe one or two visits after that I'm inspecting my food as I'm eating it I see a piece of hair. I continue to expect my food after finding the hair and I find a small piece of plastic. This is when it had become obvious to me that somebody was intentionally contaminate my food. I went here today and ordered the Massaman curry with chicken and the Tom yum soup with chicken. I really appreciated that they had a lot of vegetarian options as well as sometimes I like to opt for a meatless dish. I am taking off one star because the room I was sitting in had a mildewy type of smell. I'm not exactly sure what it was, but it didn't smell fresh inside. However, I will say the curry dish was really really good! I love the consistency of the curry. I wasn't a fan of the chicken though which is also why I am taking a star off. A small restaurant right off a back road, Bangkok cabin was an interesting little place for a Saturday night dinner. Ambiance - while it was small both outside (parking is tight!) and inside, it was overall clean and inviting. There's also beautiful paintings and sculptures which adorn the shop and acknowledge the Thai heritage 5/5 Appetizers - we ordered the papaya salad with Thai Hot heat. It was good and flavorful, although we weren't sure what to do with the quarter head of cabbage and the lettuce leaf underneath. I tend to eat spicy so Thai Hot just left my mouth a little tingly, which was great 4/5 Entrees - Green Curry: it was really flavorful and had a good variety of veggies. It went well with the steamed rice and was a good portion size. 4/5 Pad thai: I found this pad Thai to be a little too saucy (seemed like a ketchup-based sauce). As a result it was a little too sweet and sour for my taste. It was less umami and salty, which wasn't my favorite 2/5 Pad see ewe: I'm not sure if it was just an off day in the kitchen but this tasted stale. There was an off putting flavor that I could not put my finger on, it was not palatable at all. I didn't take more than a bite. 1/5 Overall service - the waitress was friendly, and because I didn't touch the pad see ewe after a bite, she did take half off of the dish which I appreciated. 5/5 Overall, I appreciate that there are small businesses developing the food scene in the area and hope they continue to progress! read more

This place was filled with happy guests and you can tell it's been around for a while. The food was great, although I was expecting a bit more from the panang curry as it's one of my favorite Thai dishes. Their Thai hot spice level is really something else so I'd recommend treading lightly. Friendly service and cute interior decorations. A bit on the pricier side but worth a visit if in the area. From Big Shanty to Bangkok, it's almost walkable. Step a little beyond downtown Kennesaw for your visit to Thai wonderland. Parking might be a little tight during high-times, but we old folks rolled in around 6pm with no problems. Dining is even better on the spacious giant front porch when we're past Georgia "third winter". After your Thai tea to kick things off, or something stronger (Thai beer), don't speed past the appetizers. My wife was drawn like a moth to flame to the basil rolls (since she thinks of basil as I do of truffle). Beyond that you'll find some other items of intrigue like the skewered Chicken Satay, plus the "usuals" (what Thai menu would be complete without spring rolls?). If you don't come here weekly, pause to browse the Specialties Menu. Spaghetti green curry seafood just sounds delightful, if you're not swayed by One Night in Bangkok. Or just dive in with the duck or lamb. Since we don't live next door, for us it was a little noodles, a little rice for the main event. I picked red curry (spice level 2). It was just enough heat, but avoided the wheezing my friend did after picking level 3. Pad Thai (also spicy #2) was as it should be, and big enough to bring some home. Our friends tried Pad Kee Mao which looked like a good vegetarian choice, and Massaman, also enough to save a large portion for later. If not too stuffed, try two scoops of ice cream, sticky rice, or coconut cake (of course). We already needed to be rolled out of there, so dessert next time. I've tried bangkok cabin before, I got their lunch special and thought it was a good deal for what you get. However, today all i did was get a mango sticky rice to-go, and they charged me $9.50. The cream on the rice was plain with no coconut flavor and the mango wasn't ripe. Also online it says $5.95 so i'm not sure why they over charged me almost twice the amount. The food is solid, no question. Where it gets sideways is the portion size for the money. If I am paying $15-$19 for a traditional thai lunch, I kinda expect leftovers; and for a specialty of spaghetti and veggies in curry at $25, I definitely expect it. Gluten-free options here are scarce as they do not carry gf soy sauce and have a house sauce that goes on almost everything containing wheat, however there are quite a few tasty appetizers including cream cheese rolls with shrimp in a spring roll fried wrap which is not something found in most places. I consider this slightly above average food, with good service, just not anywhere close to a value for the money. The location is 1/2 way between I75 and downtown Kennesaw making it accessible, there are simply better options available. read more

This is one o the best Thai restaurants in the area. It does many dishes exactly right. If you order is hot or Thai hot it will be exactly that. A few times it was REALLY intense. I would recommend any of their noodle dishes. The tom yum fried rice was also delicious. For the price, you recieve a nice sized portion The spring rolls can be made a few different ways. My favorite is the shrimp. I love how fresh they are! The cheese rolls are also pretty solid. I wish they would offer a curry version of them. They have some delicious soups. Try the tom yum or the crab. The crab soup was rich and creamy and took a while to come out. It was worth the wait. Overall this place is worth it on many levels. Parking can be a little wild sometimes because essentially it is in an old house. Service is friendly and efficient. read more

I've been here several times and I really like it. My favorite Thai restaurant closed last year and every since then, I've hunted for good Thai food in the area. This place is the closest to the quality I'm used to and even though it's a bit of a hike, I take that hike. I've had the basil rolls (both shrimp and crab), Tom Yum soup, Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Chicken Larb, and Thai Fried Rice. Everthing I've had here is delicious and they will make anything as spicy as you want...and I continue, to this day, regret getting a Pad Thai Hot. Favorite Thai place in Kennesaw! Bangkok Cabin is exactly what the name is, a cabin restaurant. It can be easy to miss, but watch out for their big sign in front of the burgundy-painted restaurant. Take note that parking is around the back of the cabin where you will also find the main entrance. Bangkok Cabin is a cozy restaurant tucked away on the outskirts of Kennesaw. It feels like you're at your Thai grandma's home where she's getting ready to serve you just a really delicious and authentic Thai meal on a Sunday evening. The interior is made up of wooden glossy walls with traditional Thai decor. My roomies decided to go after hearing about Bangkok Cabin from multiple friends and wanted to give it a try. We ordered the papaya salad to share, two orders of Thai fried rice, and a pad Thai. Everything was so yummy. The papaya salad is probably the best that I have ever had; fresh and flavorful. It came with a quarter chuck of cabbage that you can wrap the salad in for an extra crunch. The fried rice came with your choice of meat of chicken, pork, beef, or shrimp or veggie or tofu as the vegetarian options. My roomie's pad Thai was very flavorful and saucy, the noodles were a good consistency. I'm going have to come back and order one for myself the next time I visit. Might I also add, the portion sizes are very generous, I was able to enjoy my other half for lunch the next day. Bangkok Cabin certainly lived up to the hype for us and I'm looking forward to trying more items on their menu soon. read more

Came here with a friend a couple days ago and the food was great! I feel that the ambiance could use a little bit of work and that's mostly why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. The portions are big and the food comes out hot/freshly made. The parking lot is convenient but I'm sure when things get busy it might fill up easily. Lastly, I will say if you're planning on having a conversation that will not be overheard by others this is not the place to go for that, haha. It didn't matter to me since I was just hanging out with a friend but the tables are fairly close and there's not any background noise or music really. Something to keep in mind. Sad to say pretty tasteless and the chicken was tough and dry as if it was left out from the day before. There are other Thai restaurants around I'd probably go to before I'd go back. Sorry to say. Location - As mentioned above, if you aren't looking for this place, then you will pass by it everyday. Cherokee Street can be busy at times, so you have to know what you are looking for, but when you hear restaurant you don't think of a little unassuming house that was converted into a quaint little restaurant. So, keep your eyes peeled for the wooden sign and the covered porch! Parking - Challenging here, not gonna lie. They have a tiny lot in the back that holds around 10 - 12 cars at full capacity. The restaurant is not huge, but still it can get tight when its busy. Layout/Decor/Flow - The entrance is located in the back! When you walk in from the parking lot, you walk in to a small host/hostess stand that sits at the entry of the waitstaff station/kitchen area. To the left, you have the dining areas...3 areas if you will, but all still the same room. Then you have the porch, which is great when the weather is cooperating here in Georgia! The decor is classic Thai. You'll know what I mean when you dine here! Food/Drink - They have all the classic Thai dishes including curry, pad Thai, basil rolls, etc...along with a healthy dose of house specialties! I had the Pad Bai Ka Prow, which is a dish of peppers, onions, carrots, broccoli, chiles and your protein of choice sided with rice. Runs you about $9.00 for a serving, which is of good size and certainly filling! All entrees start with a soup or salad of choice as well, so again, you will only leave hungry if you try! In addition to the food, they also serve Thai drinks such as Thai Tea that definitely hit the spot! Overall, this place has certainly made the "lunch spot" list for me and my friends!
