Perry's Restaurant: The Search for a Great Crabcake…read more Takeaway: The food was outstanding, the service was great, and the website descriptions were so vague I felt like I was ordering mystery boxes. Mom had a craving for a crabcake, and when Mom gets a craving, the mission becomes official. We decided to order from Perry's Restaurant, a spot we both remembered having great food -- even if those memories were doing all the heavy lifting during this ordering process. I went to their website to place the order, and that's when the chaos began. The Website: The Guessing Game Begins I clicked on the Chef Salad. The description?"Chef Salad."That's it.No ingredients. No hints. No clues. Just vibes. Then I checked the Broiled Seafood Platter.Again -- nothing. No list of seafood. No details. No warnings. No "may contain fish you've never heard of." I was ordering blind, hoping I liked whatever showed up and praying I wasn't allergic to any of the mystery items. If we didn't already know Perry's food was outstanding, we would've abandoned the mission right there. But we pushed on. We ordered: Broiled Seafood Platter with coleslaw Two Crabcake Platters with French fries Chef Salad with Tuna Salad Pickup: The Alexa Experience I arrived at Perry's and met Alexa, who was friendly, engaging, and patient -- the exact opposite of the website. She answered all my questions, gave me suggestions for next time, and even grabbed extra tartar sauce (for a fee ). The food smelled so good that Mom and I peeked inside the containers in the car.Bad idea.We started eating the fries on the way home. They were very good -- the kind of fries that make you forget you're supposed to wait until you get home. The Food: The Redemption Once home, we opened everything up. Broiled Seafood Platter It contained: One crabcake Scallops Clams Shrimp One piece of unknown fish (still delicious) Everything was fresh, tasty, and cooked perfectly. Double Crabcakes Smaller than I remembered, but cooked beautifully and full of flavor. Chef Salad with Tuna Salad Good, with a generous amount of tuna.I could've used more tomatoes, but overall solid. Coleslaw Outstanding. The kind of coleslaw that makes you rethink your relationship with cabbage. Final Verdict Perry's Restaurant delivered: Outstanding food Outstanding service Outstanding staff Terrible website dish descriptions We'll definitely be returning -- and hopefully next time the online ordering system tells me what I'm actually ordering.

I've got to warn you, we go for lunch. Why? Because the food is so good, and the portions such, that we are not hungry the rest of the day. The service is great, everyone is so very helpful and attentive. I am really leery about posting how great they are, it is a hidden gem in plain site.

A poker tournament was going on. We sat at the bar and what I will say is everyone was pleasant and welcoming. We were immediately invited into several conversations happening. I was told many food items on the menu were exceptional; the menu consisted of bar food such as burgers, BLT, steamed shrimp, mozzarella sticks, fries and a few other items I cannot recall. I ordered the steamed shrimp which were extremely bland, could tell they were frozen and overcooked. I have never not enjoyed steamed shrimp but these were the exception they also had a strong bleach smell. My partner ordered the turkey burger and didn't rave about it but also didn't complain about it. Nothing was life changing from what I could see that others were ordering. Seems that this is a place for drinking, camaraderie, and entertainment as there are also pool tables which I believe were free to use. No rush to return but if looking for an inviting place to play pool will return. One thing I did not like is that their are no small tables to sit your drink while playing pool as I was raised that you need to have your eyes on your drink when out in public at all times. Being told to leave my drink at the bar while playing pool did not sit well with me so I didn't drink.

I don't recall what item she got, but I always kept it in the back of my mind. I am rarely in this area. One of my best friends just moved nearby with his wife, and my girlfriend and I were hungry after visiting. On the way to another spot, I spotted it and we agreed to give it a try. There were some nice tables outside, but we decided to sit at the bar once we checked in at the host stand. At the time, there were only two empty ones on the end, but the people next to us soon left. There was a phone charging right in front of where I was sitting, it wasn't long before the guy belonged to politely unplugged it and said that we could use the charger if we needed to. I'm guessing he was the owner. We got menus I looked over what we might have wanted. I was a little surprised by how expensive the tacos were, I was like geez we're not even in DC haha. The drinks were first. They have a variety of margaritas, and I opted for the spicy hibiscus and it was fantastic. My girlfriend got the mezcal brandy one which was very strong. For food, I was debating between crab shrimp and mole enchiladas. I usually don't get them because I find them too cheesy (as a pizza lover, I know). But I was feeling adventurous. The lady said to try the seafood ones, so I did. That sauce was immaculate. I haven't had a lot of enchiladas, but I do know that these were the best I have had to date. We shared taquitos too which were good. Yeah, based on this experience I would definitely come back. I recommend it to anyone in the area too!

I've gone a few times now and they've been consistent across the board. I've had the wings, fish and chips, and the mac & cheese, and everything has been on point every time. No misses. The food is flavorful, well prepared, and perfect for the laid-back but upscale vibe they have going. And I have to mention my go-to drink: the Espresso Martini. Easily one of the best in the area. Smooth, balanced, and dangerous in the best way. The atmosphere can get a little loud, so I wouldn't recommend for date nights, but if you want to hang with friends, or just grabbing a quality drink and good food, or watch sports, this is your place. If you're in Odenton and haven't been yet, you're missing out.

It's a laid back atmosphere - casual, but if you want to get cute that's fine too. There's a limited food menu. I didn't get any food this time. I really enjoyed the tiramisu espresso martini - I would get it again. There's a good selection of cocktails, beer and wine. There was live music but it wasn't super loud where a conversation was difficult. The employees were very nice and attentive.

With that said, this place is not for everyone. Sadly it was frustrating alone dealing with the parking situation. I parked so far away! Next, there was a band playing music, cool, but don't know any of their songs or the covers they were doing. The other room was 100% line dancing that if you didn't know it, you stayed off the dance floor and stand in place. There's a bull riding area that I saw a professional bull rider do tricks and that was cool and they intimidating. The drinks were really good and not overpriced! Star for that! And finally I just didn't have fun and I'm actually a dancer. I think you either love it or hate it. I didn't hate it, but I probably wouldn't come back again.

We love traveling to different line dancing communities, experiencing new places, and connecting with people through dancing. That's what makes situations like this so upsetting. Everyone deserves to feel welcomed and respected, regardless of their religion or appearance. The line dance world is a very connected community, and experiences like this naturally get talked about. I just hope this establishment reflects on the kind of environment they want to create moving forward, because this was deeply disappointing to hear about and unacceptable.

Between the pumping bass that shakes our windows at night, the loud crowd that hangs out in the parking lot, and the motorcycles that wake us up when they leave at 2 a.m., we've had it! We signed a petition to have their liquor license revoked a couple of years ago, but were unable to attend the meeting due to a trip out of state. Because others did not show up to give testimony, it didn't pass. We wish we could have gone - we were some of the only people home who heard the shooting 2 years ago (no one was killed, but I watched - and heard - as the crowd screamed and called the cops and held the bleeding man until an ambulance arrived... the cops found the shooter hiding behind the KFC). I know I sound like an old woman yell(p)ing "Hey kids, get off my lawn!", but really, I just want a good night's sleep in a safe neighborhood.

The why is usually because I'm with a friend and he says "let's see what's up in there?" But the answer is always the same ...nothing for me. However, the last time I was in here I was invited to a birthday party for a woman about my age. This should have made things better but even though you change the age, you can't change the mentality. The DJ was bad. The music kept skipping for the first hour I was there. Then there were arguments about food and liquor. And then I got into conversations with random people that couldn't end fast enough for me. Hopefully, I will use my adult voice and say no the next time it is suggested to go here.
