A Maryland legend, Irv's in Pasadena the last legal basement bar in Maryland!…read more As you'd guess it is located in the basement of Irv's home. He's had the home since I believe the 1940s and the biz has been open since the 50s or 60s. Irv is also the only bartender and single handely has run the place for decades. If you were in Greek life like myself you'll feel right at home -- the basement feels like a frat house (in the best way). With bras on the ceiling and plenty of MD decor, it's got a vibe that to me feels cozy! Make sure you bring cash and a good attitude and you'll have a great time!

The property is waterfront and has amazing views of the water. There is seating inside and out! While they have a pretty full bar, I always stick to the bottled beer. Not only does Irv own the place, he often is found bartending. He works harder at 103 than most other humans do at a younger age. See you again soon!

They are most loved for their karaoke nights that I have been present for numerous times but never participated. They have a full bar and the bartenders are always great. While they don't have a menu, the only food they have are small pizzas (frozen and cooked behind bar) and some bags of chips. They do allow you to bring your own food in if you wish. There is nothing fancy about the Nautical and my favorite detail about them is how they have shower curtains as bathroom doors. It is a great low key party spot.

They couldn't serve draught beer because their lines were frozen which the server didn't inform us of until after we ordered food. It's no wonder they were frozen because it was so cold inside even the hostess was wearing her coat. The drinks we did end up ordering had no booze in them. The chicken noodle soup that was on special was incredibly salty with mushy chicken. The crab meat in the crab dip had the texture of imitation crab.
