I've been going to No. 1 Chinese Restaurant since it opened roughly seven years ago. My Mom was a fan of their pork fried rice, claiming that it was looser than other places, whatever that means. I, for one, thought that the cooks use different seasonings. I don't know how to describe but their foods isn't as bland as others. No. 1 isn't afraid to use their spices!
Last Friday was a day and I was in need of serious comfort. I also was feeling really lazy because I I had a very busy day. Luckily for me, although I didn't have a menu, I was able to find their number online. I ordered from memory from their combination platters: pepper steak with pork fried rice. With all platters an Eggroll is included. I also ordered a small hot and sour soup.
Mmmm. So very good! They're very generous with the pieces of steak, peppers, and onions they give. The pork fried rice was delicious too. The knockout? The hot and sour soup. I love it so much! It was good and spicy. I also added to the spice with hot mustard and hot sauce! It was so comforting! It was the perfect remedy to the hard day I had.
