From the very first inquiry, the staff was professional, friendly, and incredibly responsive -- no small feat when planning an event all the way from California! The space itself is a perfect blend of old world charm and modern convenience, and having a private room made all the difference. The food was delicious, the location was central and easy for guests to get to, and the staff was absolutely amazing on the day of the event. The event was a smashing success and I give full credit to the team at The King's Head for helping make it one to remember. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a standout private event venue!

Somehow there's always a half open table you can weasel your whole group into or an open table, no weaseling necessary. But at the same time it's always busy because PEOPLE LOVE IT HERE. Great way to end a meal. #ProTip: we went to the Queen's Arms tavern the next day and they had the EXACT same menu. The bartender explained there is a company that owns many of the pubs so they all have the same menu. That's a bit disappointing as we like variety, so now I check the menu at all the pubs before we go.

People in Business suits, drinking away every weeknight. The Scotch Eggs were a highlight. Also, some of the best Buffalo Wings I've ever had outside of New York/New England. The Burger was good too. The bartender talked me through the ciders available, and made some great suggestions. Prices are very reasonable. Staff is friendly, even if a bit busy. After visiting Shakespeare's Globe across the Thames River, I was rushing to the airport and…read morespotted this place near St. Paul's church after crossing Millennium Bridge. Given the location, I knew it was probably a tourist trap and I wish to avoid those usually but had no time so stopped in on a Monday afternoon for lunch. I'm so glad I did! I was in London only briefly and had yet to try proper fish and chips and I was definitely WOW'd. I've only had this in America, and this was definitely better than anything I've ever had. When it arrived on my table, I could feel the heat from the plate -- that's how scalding hot and fresh it was, and I loved that! The cod was absolutely massive, a thick portion of fish deep fried with the skin on within an incredibly crunchy beer batter. There were pieces of bone in it, but no bother, this only made it seem more fresh. The chips (thick cut fries) were perfectly crispy and both the fish and chips were insanely delicious with a bit of salt and malt vinegar (which I had to request by walking up to the bar). The dish came with a tartar sauce and ketchup, but tasted way better with the salt and vin. I absolutely love that the fish and chips also came with mushy peas, whereas most pubs only give you fish and chips alone. The dish was also very well priced at 9.95 GBP, and I was able to use my credit card, rounded up to 10 GBP because they have a 10 GBP minimum for using cards. I appreciate that this restaurant had free wi-fi, which I found out by asking my waiter, who quickly provided the secret code for me to use. In America you would never ask your server for this but I noticed that nearly every hotel and restaurant I visited during my 11-day tour of Europe offered wi-fi. Good on them, because how else would I check in to a restaurant on Yelp and shower them with praise and circulate promotional foodie photos on Instagram? During a weekday, many workers nearby flood this place to grab a pint during lunch....now, why don't I work in London? I would give this place five stars based on the food alone, but I am giving it four because I wished the service had been more attentive, as I had to go up to the bar to get malt vinegar and also to ask to pay my bill. I understand service in Europe is more laissez-faire than in America, but since this is a tourist spot I would have liked to be checked on by the staff at least once during my meal, and certainly to be presented with the bill. Note: They also serve Sunday roast dinner for 9.95 GBP on Sundays

If you're after true london pub vibes, with English food and some drinks in the Kensington area, this is it! Service: We made a reservation online and when we arrived early it was cool to see the large reservation sign on the table. The pub is very small, so keep in mind that seating is pretty tight. Our table for 2 had a booth seat and a stool with no back which may be troublesome for some. The concept is that you can order online using the QR code or at the bar. The staff was great and answered our questions. They even charged our phone so thanks again! Drinks: We enjoyed a cider and an old fashioned. The old fashioned had great flavor, however, was served with small ice cubes instead of a large one like we're used to. The drink menu is extensive and it's cool how they suggest which tonic pairs well with the different gins. Food: We were a bit bummed to see that a lot of the menu items were sold out (which is a good sign as well). I was looking forward to the Chicken and Portobello Pie but ordered the Steak and Nicholson's Pale Ale Pie instead. I was not disappointed! It was a great pie and the gravy served with it was delicious. Loved the mashed potatoes and roasted carrots. I finished the entire thing! A very hearty and warming meal. The Burger was also great. For dessert we tried the Sticky Toffee Pudding which was very rich and had bits of fig in it. The staff recommended it and it didn't disappoint!
