I've been in a…read morecouple of times for a look and I absolutely love how it's laid out - essentially, it's split into four areas and laid out like a house. There's a bed, bathroom, living and men's/women's clothing areas. It's very cleverly done and is really appealing, especially compared to your standard charity shop. Prices are reasonable, there's a huge range of women's & men clothes and accessories (a whole drawer of ties!) as well as crockery/glassware, cards for Christmas (if you want to get in really early) and the usual bits you'd expect in a charity shop. It's worth paying this shop a visit just to see how nicely it's laid out, even if you're not planning on buying anything!

Gosh, I have written so many Topshop reviews I should start a list rating the best ones but I think…read moreI've found my favourite and it's hidden in Silverburn Shopping Centre! As this place is pretty hard to get to without a car I don't get the chance to come that often but when I do oh boy is it a blast. It has a great selection of clothes, underwear, jewellery and other accessories, a huge changing room space and everything is really well organised. I nearly cried when I popped in last night to see that the Topshop sale had started and there was about 20 sale racks, in fact, most of the shop was on sale. After hugging a sale rack for a while with my friend looking at me like I was some kind of lunatic I decided to browse. I've never seen a Topshop so regimented at sale time, okay so some of it was a bit chaotic but in comparison with city centre branches where everyone and their gran throws sale clothing around I could get used to browsing the sale in a calm and collected manner like I did here last night. I'm excited just thinking about it. I ended up getting a gorgeous lacy dress reduced from £38 to £18 and I got a 10% student discount too! Wowee! The non sale section had so many gorgeous dresses that I haven't seen in other branches recently and the staff were really friendly too. So if you're a fan of Topshop, head along to the branch in Silverburn if you get the chance. It's awesome.

This shop seems to be pretty new (I'd never noticed it before!) and it sells a big range of second-hand kids stuff. On the basis that I thought the clothes etc were new when I visited, it goes to show the stuff looks really nice and is well presented. Yet, it's still open and seemingly having regular stock turnaround. The stock consists of a strange mix of older male and female clothing as well as some cheap (and some nasty) ladies shoes from time to time. In saying this, the prices do seem reasonable and considering the styles affordable to more mature customers. There's also a selection of costume jewellery, hats, scarfs and the odd handbag too. I certainly haven't bought anything out of it and can't see this happening in the near future. But, it is most definitely for some people and worth a look even to see the strange mix of items. It does have character and is rather endearing in a different kind of way, you know what I mean??

My husband is a bit of a Penguin fan, and I'm penguin-obsessed. I didn't know they'd opened at Silverburn (in August last year, clearly I don't visit very much). This shop is immaculately laid out with lovely displays and nice clothes. I grabbed a pair of socks thinking that'd make a nice gift for my husband (how romatic am I?!) and the shop assistant gently upsold me on the offer they had on currently - two pairs of socks, a tshirt and a bottle opener/hip flask for £30. Well, the socks were £10 on their own so I figured it sounded like a good idea. I got a black tshirt for him and the transaction was very pleasant - the shop assistant had great banter and was very friendly. Sadly I'll need to pop back as the tshirt isn't quite right - it's more sexy-priest than sexy husband, and I'm not really into sexy priest. But I can see this shop being a slippery slope for mine (or his) card.
