From what I understood, I needed to get a specific type of paint and asking for that in my proposal, and also what I wanted to be able to do after having it painted. About 15 min after submitting my proposal, I got a call from Jennifer, letting me know to please even if I had not gone with them to let anyone quote me for that and to indicate a different paint type. Well, like any females, we got to just chatting for 30 min. Guy and Jennifer then came over and walked the house and of course I got on how frustrating the builder has been and what they hadn't done and also what my amazing puppy has also destroyed. Not only were they able to propose just painting, they were also able to price out helping me with some one off additions. After getting a couple of other proposals, comparing them and deciding we moved forward with Guy and Jennifer. Throughout the entire process, they were transparent and communicative. The team was efficient and very nice. Everyday they came in, and at the end of the day they would organize and put things together in a corner for the next day. They respected that I was working from home, and that was in and out of meetings. They allowed me to work in my office until it was the last day and they needed to get the office completed. Proper surface preparation was not performed before painting, which affected the final finish, which I had to pay another paint contractor to refinish. Paint was left on door hardware and flooring, requiring additional cleanup after the crew left. The caulking work was also poorly executed, with several lines appearing crooked, uneven, and incomplete. They did not fill small nail holes and imperfections in sheet rock before painting making that stand out more after painting. I gave the company an opportunity to address these concerns, but the issues remained unresolved. Attention to detail and proper preparation are critical in painting projects, and unfortunately, those standards were not met on this job. Based on my experience, I would not hire Alexis Home Painting again. Very unprofessional.

Felipe supervised closely checking the work many days per week. He was often hands-on dealing with details to ensure they meet his expectations. As the project wrapped up, he blue taped his own crew's work and had them cleaning up details that I didn't even notice. When I performed walkthrough there were only a few places I needed to request touchups to and those were handled well. There was one bit of trim carpentry that I wasn't satisfied with and Felipe took an extra day to rework it to my preference and had his crew come yet again to touch up the final paint. He included a house cleaning in the project which turned out well (Sheetrock dust was everywhere, of course). When he came to check the house cleaner's work, he even took his shoes off before entering even though no one was there to notice if he did. At the end of the project, we have a move-in ready house that feels brand new. Sheetrock repairs, interior painting walls/ceilings/trim/cabinets, custom murphy bookcase, enclosed wall cutout, wrapped beam with stain-grade wood and stained. Felipe's bid wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive, but I trusted his reviews and was not disappointed--I feel we got what we paid for.
