Lonestar's owners and their entire crew did an amazing job for us! Well, several amazing jobs, actually. We initially hired them to paint our master bathroom, but with their high quality work, attention to detail, and extremely reasonable prices we kept adding projects from our "wish list" to their scope. Ultimately, not only did they paint the bathroom, but they tiled one of the walls (it looks amazing), painted the upstairs bathroom cabinets, a couple of doors that needed some love, and ultimately, painted most of the exterior of our home. They also threw in the installation of a lot of cabinet hardware (handles and pulls) that we had intended to do ourselves, but due to procrastination (and laziness--let's be honest), hadn't gotten around to doing yet. Lonestar's owners came to our house every day (often multiple times) to check the progress of the work and make sure everything was being done according to our wishes and expectations. I really appreciated their attention to detail and their passion for making sure that everything was done exactly right and that we were happy with the results. If you want a job done well, done right the first time, done on schedule, and done at a very reasonable price, don't hesitate to call LoneStar. They do business under both names, so I felt I needed to have a review in both places. If you are looking for a company who will take your money and not deliver the work, these are the guys for you. They have taken nearly $2K of my money and I have a partially painted house to show for it. The latest - the painter, David, did not show today because their check to him bounced. He did not have the courtesy to call me and tell me he was not coming and took off with all the paint and materials that were purchased with my money. I have asked him to return them so I can get the job completed. He said he would be right over. That was three hours ago. I have left messages, texts and emails for both the owner, Bob, and the General Manager, Dale. They have failed to contact me back. I have not had any luck with the gutter guy/foreman Mike or the painter David. If you come across any of these guys, run. I have filed a police report. ---------------------------------------------------------- April 19 Update: For the record, I have still not heard back from Dale or Bob. Not one communication. They have not offered me a refund. They have not attempted to make anything right. In addition to the police report, I have filed complaints with the BBB and the Attorney General's office. I have hired folks to fix the job that they botched up. Chimney repairs not done: They did not even do the repairs on my chimney and assumed I would never know. The contractor I hired to complete the repairs found a bunch of nails they had pulled out sitting on top of the chimney cap, none of the rotting siding replaced, and wood missing from the chimney cap and a piece of siding missing. There was even a hammer left up there by them. I guess they figured I could not see it, so they did not have to do the work, even though the gutter guy/foreman, Mike, assured me the repairs were done while he was on the roof in March. Siding repairs done improperly on the back of the house: Many of the siding repairs they did do, were done incorrectly, including using indoor nails, silicone instead of caulk, which is not paintable, and incorrectly placing the siding repairs above the slab line instead of protecting it. They destroyed siding that previously did not need repair when they were trying to repair rotted pieces and did not offer to fix. They just painted over stuff without proper preparation. The paint they started and never finished showed paint right over over wasps nests and debris, as they failed to properly power wash and prep the house. Trim that should have been replaced was not replaced or caulked. I have photos and will post them in my personal photos on my yelp account. Charges to my credit card and no merchandise received. They purchased gutter covers on my behalf, using my American Express number, but failed to provide an invoice or merchandise in spite of my requesting both. So, for nearly $2k, I have vapor gutter covers and a big mess to clean up which will cost me more money to have done correctly. Instead of hiring skilled workers to do the job correctly, they sent people with the wrong tools to do a job they were not skilled for. They have sent more than 8 different people to my home since December just doing, and redoing repairs. The siding repairs were touched by at least 5 different people, sent by them. If you have a painting job......... THESE ARE YOUR GUYS!!! I received a bid from this company to do a complete exterior painting job. Not only were they prompt they were meticulous. Very professional, had no problems with daily communication. Kept me informed of what work was to be performed each day. I had other tradesmen doing other jobs as well and there was never an issue of working around each other, very accommodating. Business took me away from the project and I asked if pics could be sent daily to show me color/progress. They were not only happy to grant my request but also elaborated on pics when/where necessary. The job was started and completed within the specific dates indicated. The site was left in the same condition as when they arrived. Again, I highly recommend this company and do intend to have them back to complete some interior work. read more

We are sorry to say - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Our experience was, at the very least, horrible. Were had the entire interior of our 2-story house painted, ceilings included, as well as our kitchen and bathroom cabinets. This was a 2-week job. I will say we were impressed with the way things started. The floor was covered with paper all the way up the stairs and throughout the hallway of the 2nd floor. The furniture was also covered with plastic. once the downstairs areas were painted and the crew left for the weekend, we noticed areas that needed to be touched up. Were also noticed paint on the back side of the (wood stained) handrails. I sent Ever a message letting him know that there were a lot of touch ups needed. He informed me that a complete walkthrough would be done and touch ups provided. Then came the 2nd floor... where everything went wrong. First, the paper had been REMOVED BEFORE any painting had begun. The hallway was painted seemingly enough without incident. The master bedroom was painted the WRONG color. NONE of the furniture was covered on any of the bedrooms. We found paint on some of the furniture. One of the nightstands in the master was randomly tossed on the bed tossing everything inside askew and broke the tracks for the drawer. There was paint on the new Berber carpet in the bedroom and closet - NO DROP CLOTH had been put down in any of the bedrooms or closets. The front facing of the blind on a window in the master was taken off to paint around the window and apparently one of the clips to hold it in place broke at some point and they TAPED it back on thinking we wouldn't see it. We were not told about this and they were obviously trying to hide it. We found paint on the curtain rods and pulleys. Then while putting the furniture back in the master, we began to move the chest of drawers and noticed the one of the back legs had been split from being dragged along the carpet. We were not informed of this either. Some of the drawers had been taken out to lighten the load and when our back in some of the tracks were broken AND there was also a hole in the back. We also noticed that paint had been spilled or dropped on the wood flooring in the hallway that wasn't cleaned up very well. There are still places that are smeared. They didn't paint behind the toilets or move the stove to paint the wall or the inside end of the cabinets. Also, the crew washed out their paint equipment IN OUT FLOWER BED. Needless to say, everything is now dead. E also had to remove paint from our Harley that was in the garage. No paintings was done in the garage?? There seems to be some kind of miscommunication or disconnect with Ever and his dad and the crew. We never had the feeling that we all were on the same page. This may have been "one of those jobs" where nothing goes right, that does happen. However, our advice - save yourselves a lot of stress and use a different company to do your painting. read more

They removed my popcorn texture and installed crown moulding 6.5 years ago. I was new to home ownership so this was all new to me. They did a great job removing the popcorn ceiling and applying new texture. Great job on installation of crown moulding. I had someone in my house a few years ago and they had pointed out that they only put 1 coat of paint on the crown moulding and one coat of paint on the ceilings. I definitely notice it now. I didn't know any better. They were cheaper. I guess you get what you pay for. read more

These folks did a great job on short notice. I needed my outside house trim re-painted to meet HOA guidelines and they were responsive and polite (much more so than other companies I called). They did have to reschedule/delay a few times because of weather, but they made an effort to come out as soon as possible since I had an HOA deadline to get the repairs done. I was hesitant because of the negative reviews I saw here on yelp but I think some of these reviews are referring to a different company with the same name, which is unfortunate because Lonestar is really very good. The owner of the company is Ever who was professional and helpful (and I'm a difficult customer). I felt I owed these guys some kudos and I would strongly recommend them. read more
