These guys come up in a lot of Google searches, and it's hard to find auto upholstery shops in the 21st century. I choose New Life because they're literally the only auto upholstery shop within miles of my house. New Life has strict hours - 8:30 to 5pm. No earlier, no later. If you work during the day like most people, it's a hassle. I came at 8:30 to have a headliner done; they didn't open till 8:45. They basically work out of a tiny garage. I asked (politely) several times to have them call me, and said several times that I'd plan my day around when they'd be done. I called at noon for an update, they said it might be done around 3 pm. I said for them to call me. I get a call at 4 pm from the irate owner, asking where I was and that he has kids and they want to close early. He then hung up on me when I stated that I asked for them to call me the moment the car would be done because I'm at work far away. I called back, he was still angry and I explained to him that if his hours say 5 pm, then he should stay open to accommodate customers until 5 pm; not just hurry them out without warning. For over $400 I got a new headliner with dirty finger prints and a car interior full of foam dust from the old material. I've been around mechanics and other car people my whole life; I'm used to them being grumpy or weird or odd. But on a big job that costs several hundred dollars, anyone should expect at least a tiny bit of customer service and civility, and a fine finished product. I received none of that. Brought my exotic two seater here meaning to just have a look around and figured on checking out a few other places before making a decision. Lo and behold I pull in around the back and this beautiful convertible two seater Cadillac is having some restoration work done on the leather seats. The cars owner is there exchanging stories with the store owner. Everything feels right about the place and I'm getting good vibes so I say to myself...what the hey,might as well give these guys a go since things are feeling like one big happy family. Thirty or so minutes later they're done repairing my headliner for a fraction of what a new one would have cost and I can't tell that it was ever down so low that I couldn't see out the back window. I used this shop to fix saggy seat cushions in my car two years ago. They replaced the seat and back cushion with high density foam for a reasonable price. The results were amazing. After reading reviews from other yelpers I went to this shop. The owner did a terrible job with a seat that required fixed. First, he didn't stick to the quote. He said it was $500 and then raised it to $600.00 Second, the job was shoddy at best. You could see the glue and the stitch was not even straight. It was wavy and didn't look professional. Brought my car in to get my seat cushions fixed. The owner seemed like a nice guy and charged me $200. He also gave me a warranty. It lasted less than 6 months to go back to the original state. I brought my car back in and the owner didn't honor the warranty. It's not right when the owner of a business cannot keep his word. I just purchased some automotive glue for $6 and guess what .. it is still holding. read more

Went to get estimate to have section of drivers leather seat which was cracking replaced then scheduled work to be done. After completion shop tried to charge me $95.00 more than original estimate. Had to pay additionl $25.00 just to get out. Work was done in October 2009 and now just 2 years later the section that they replaced is cracking again and I found out from shop they do not guarantee work done. What a waste of my time and money! read more
