With so many small businesses hurting through these Covid restrictions, it has been difficult for me to give honest reviews, especially less than positive reviews. Thank goodness this place has given me nothing but great experiences. I've only ever been here since the pandemic started and from jump, they were very cautious. The shop is small, so they don't allow customers inside, but they do have someone at the door to take orders and payments. Juices and smoothies are consistency fresh and delicious. Service is always friendly. My one and only complaint (which isn't really a complaint) is that their hours are unpredictable right now. They've explained it is sometimes difficult to get a someone to stay home with the kids and that is completely valid! We're all struggling to adapt here. read more

Every juice/smoothie has different ingredients that all work well together and ultimately serve a different purpose. And you can alter whatever you order to your liking. I've been here three times, and each experience was pleasant. First time was to scope it out, and snap photos of the menu. I was greeted with warm welcomes, and a short description of the menu. The second time I went in to order a juice that would pair well with my sandwich (getting my lunch on, the healthy way). The "Vampin" juice is delicious, made with beets, apples, grapes, strawberries, and papaya. The third time (which is today) I ordered the "Peanut Punch" smoothie, LOVE IT. You can't go wrong with some peanut butter in your drank, so I'm a happy customer. One of the employees (or owner? not sure) is a friendly guy, and made my smoothie each time I visited. He told me this is their second location, which is great news. Every business that opens in this current location always closes down, so I'm hoping New Level Juice is here to stay, because we can use a juice and smoothie shop on first avenue. Just tried this place for the first time. I was craving a smoothie and just happened to find this place on my way to the bus. (I stopped at a couple of places before here and looked at their menus but nothing stuck out to me). This place had EVERYTHING-ALL the options. I have been a customer of NLJ since mid 2018. Born and raised in East Harlem for 39 yrs. I wear many hats in and outside my East Harlem community- I sit on a few boards, including East Harlem Preservation. I take pride in supporting my East Harlem small businesses esp ones owned and operated by Black and Latinos who are from the community. I have a really good relationship with many of the business in the community, including New Level Juices. In mid/late 2019 a new worker by the name of Karen Morales aka Melo began to work at the shop and began to make the business toxic by consistently yelling and cursing at the owner and/or staff, in front of customers. On more than 3 occasions Karen aka Melo made has threats to physically harm me and has been extremely disrespectful towards me as a customer. I shared my concerns with the owner and expressed this was not acceptable and that it should be corrected. I expressed I did not condone being disrespected as a human, as a Latina, as a community activist, a paying customer, as a born and raised EH community member, etc... and that the employee is a risk to the business. I was assured by the owner that I would never have to encounter such disrespect again. It was corrected for about 1month and then... Today, Feb 13, 2020 I go into the shop to purchase a salad and a wheatgrass shot, while I was waiting for my salad to be made, the employee Karen storms in yelling at the owner about hanging up the phone on her, proceeds to yell at the owner for not answering a question. The yelling proceeds for like 2mins and as she makes her way to the door (while yelling), she stops next to me and proceeds to bombard my personal space, yelling in my face making statements such as "you are lucky I don't fuck you up" and then walks out the shop. The owner did not say anything, he didn't even apologize that this is the 4th time his employee disrespects me in this manner. I walked out without my items. Though I love their juices and owner is from the community, I can no longer give this business my money. I've been at harms risk more than once with this employee and the owner has done nothing to correct the issue. I no longer feel safe going into the establishment. I would recommend that customers ask that Karen aka Melo no longer be an employee at the business. read more
