By far the best smoothies you can get anywhere PERIOD. The menu is very eclectic and you see combinations that would rival any health food spot. Besides having ingredients that are usually hard to find in smoothie businesses, they taste SO good. My favorite thus far is Nutty Buddy, but I'm determined to get through their entire menu. I love this place! They make the best juices; the ingredients are always fresh and they are reasonably priced. My favorite items on the menu are the ackee, vegetable, and salmon patties. Delicious! Feels almost like a scam. Seriously, buyer beware. I tried to order two things off the menu, and was told both had been discontinued years ago. They told me what they did have, which was three options out of the 12+ on the board. I took the one that the young man recommended, and instead of watching him make a fresh smoothie, I watched him walk to the back, say something to a woman, and come back with a cup of lukewarm green liquid. I paid 11 dollars for it and tipped 2. (I always tip, no matter what) but I should have tasted it first. It was atrocious. It tasted powdery and honestly like it could have been 100% store bought Odwalla juice with protein powder mixed in. I'm a "shut up and eat/drink it" type of person, even if I don't like something, but after about 4 sips I threw it away and ordered a smoothie for half the price (6.99) at the convenience store across the street. (I think it was called Skyline something.) The man there was extremely pleasant, asked me questions about possible dietary restrictions, and made my smoothie with care right in front of me. There were tons of fresh ingredients that I could see up close. I noticed they served salads and sandwiches too, so I will definitely be back. Their salmon patties are the best. They are flaky and huge! Another plus is that this establishment is black owned. First of all, this juice bar has moved to 145th between FDB and ACP. It is down the block from New York Sports Club which is convenient. This juice bar is tiny and typically only one person--the owner--is working behind the counter, so you have to be patient both to place and to receive your order. The good news is that while you wait, you can chat with the owner or the other customers. This place has a lot of regulars, everyone is very friendly and talkative, and your wait will fly by if you go with the flow. I always have interesting conversations while I wait, and the owner is a pleasure to chat with as well. A few of the owner's regular customers even make runs to the grocery store for him when he is short on ingredients. The juices here are comparable price wise to other juice bars in NYC; although, cheaper than the bottled juices other juice bars sell at Whole Foods and Fairway. The juices taste significantly better than most other juice bars I have been to in NYC, and the owner, if you are polite and personable, will cater the juice to your taste in terms of the amount of pulp, how "green" it truly is (don't be scared--he will ease you into the all-green juices) and the amount of ginger he includes to mask the earthy flavor of kale, watercress, and other vegetables. The owner, once he gets to know you, often provides samples of juices he is experimenting with, makes special blends if you come in with a particular ailment or health concern, and charges less than the menu price. The only draw-back is that I don't think the ingredients are all organic at this juicebar. I cannot say that for a fact, but I live in the neighborhood, and there is not a lot of organic produce available in the 140s between Bradhurst and Lenox at this point in time, so if the owner has to make a last-minute run for ingredients, there simply are not many organic options. read more

I come here often after leaving the YMCA. They're a real mom and pop set up, and while yes, it does look a bit shabby (and dusty, and a lil' cruddy... just don't look around! Focus on the juicy goodness you will be enjoying in the next 5 minutes), the juices and smoothies are good, and they have a decent selection available. Support local businesses! Traditional mon and pop west indian juice bar. It reminded me a lot of Trinidad and the juice is indeed worth the trip from BK to Harlem. The location is a bit small but in all fairnedd, youre not there to lounge around. They are located exactly one block dwon from the NYSC and I could only imagine the business they see as a result. I swung by one ofternoon after a very exhausting workout and the energy boost smoothie (with protein boost) really got me back on my feet. The onlder gentleman (with the dreads) gave me useful insight into what the juice does and why it's especially important to those who workout. This place will deff see me again.
