I am so sorry I looked at incorrect reviews page as my experience echoes much of what's reported…read morehere. Summit health seems to be the contaminating factor here. My appointment seemingly went well, with doctors visit occurring within 10 mins of appt start time. I literally was in the office for less than 10 mins, no exam, just endorsing that I am qualified for a testosterone supplemental RX. Then everything went to sh!t as the office won't respond to emails to portal, or pick up phone call for Rx questions. 2 weeks after inital appt, the RX prescribed had not been reviewed by physician, and the RX was denied as I need two T blood tests (which is what I have read online) and would have been probably covered had I kept my appt today. I fully believe they did nothing waiting to bill for a full appt beyond the consult to only tell me what the phone call today clarified...two blood tests needed, between 8a ad 10a online. The fact the Specialist did not 'know' this would be denied (by my very good insurance) makes me full believe they pad their schedule for additional $$ Just today I was charged over $300 for an 8 minute consult (total payment to Dr. Gresham was $410) and I have nothing to show for it. I have BCBS (very good insurance) and this was put through as a 'treatment' and somehow went to my deductible...like what the literal F-bomb is happening here? They also billed BCBS as out of network when they ARE IN NETWORK!!! I am so frustrated. I went to this specialist as referred by my primary and the office did absolutely nothing. I should have registered the rudeness of the appointment staff at the initial 8 minute consult time but wanted to give the staff grace...this office is HORRIBLY run. DO NOT go here ---unless you want to throw good money after bad. Jeesh!

You would be absolutely crazy to go to New Jersey urology. They wanted to do a on me without…read moredoing any diagnostic testing regarding the need. I suffer from multiple sclerosis. A urodynamics test should've been done prior to any medical procedure which would've been unwarranted and would've had no effect on me whatsoever. I would urge anyone thinking about going to New Jersey urology to seriously consider other avenues!

Dr. Sloane was in immediate contact with me, and was nothing short of extraordinary in staying in touch, and was virtually on call at anytime. We spoke several times, he replied to texts night or day he guided the ICU nurse through a procedure. Post hospital, I went to his office (today) and he did a procedure that solved the problem. And now my body is functioning normally! But Dr. Sloane didn't stop there. As a precaution, he is sending mt to a get a ultrasound just to make sure all is well. He does all he does with super confidence and at the same time a close connection and empathy with his patient. I am so grateful to Dr. Sloane and recommend him highly to any man with urological issues or who needs a consultation. A true master at his craft.

Clearly really experienced, talked through all the details, things to look out for, etc; helped us understand how to think about what was important, rather than the textbook, neutral answers we've been getting from too many other doctors lately. The procedure itself was super easy; he talked me through what would happen and then what was happening, and checked in regarding pain and sensation along the way. Recovery has been way easier than I thought; only a tiny bit of swelling, the expected discomfort, but not painful. Overall, just a really great experience. The office staff was easy to schedule with, clear about availability, and flexible when I had to shuffle some things around. Other offices I called were hard to get through with, had distant availability, did vasectomies one day a month, couldn't confirm how long after a consultation I'd actually be able to book a procedure, had web forms that went no where, put me on hold for 30 minutes before terminating the call, etc. The one thing they need to work on is their tech -- email confirmations/calendar appointments and electronic docs or links instead of printouts (maybe they do this, but it wasn't apparent/offered?); the site has links to a patient portal, but it doesn't seem to work; they have a robo-caller call to confirm appointments, but it doesn't leave voicemails, so it just looks like you missed a call from the office. Anyway, thanks to Dr. Sloane & staff for making that easier than I expected!

I previously was a patient here with the now retired Dr. Hecht. As part of my annual physical with PennMed, an updated urological exam was recommended due to history of kidney stones. This office was suggested, and convenient to home. On this appointment I saw Akira Yamamoto, MD, a staff physician/surgeon. He was on the young side of his career, and impressively thorough and personable. He reviewed a recent CT scan with me and discussed alternatives to the continuing stone issue. Nothing momentous, we decided to see each other again in 6 months and look for any changes. That seemed the right approach, so made that appointment and went our respective ways. I learned some things from our discussion that I will attempt to integrate into my diet. More Mediterranean. Less processed foods. I am pretty good about that already, but now I know that sometimes the best diet for for one condition is not the best for another. I would have preferred to have heard that from the doctors I have seen over the last years, but none had the whole patient in mind, and it came to me to figure this out. Question is; how solve the inconsistencies? Will let you know as soon as I do. Upon further investigation, I have learned that this practice's name is Summit Health-New Jersey Urology.
