ZERO STARS - THEY MISSED A CANCER DIAGNOSIS!
I went to Jersey Urology Group when I first noticed that I had blood in my urine and my primary care physician recommended that I follow-up with a urologist. Jersey Urology Group was able to get me in for further testing and prescribed a cat scan and a cystoscope.
I'm a two-time cancer survivor, so because of my extensive medical history, whenever I have a serious medical condition, I always go for a second opinion, and thankfully I did.
I had my cat scan on November 10, 2022, and on November 22, 2022, Dr. Jankowski performed a cystoscope in her office at Jersey Urology Group. When they recommended the cystoscope, I asked if they numb me with a lidocaine solution. They told me it's not necessary, but if I insist, they could write me a script, I can bring it to my procedure, and they will apply it. She was extremely rude when I started to ask some questions about my condition and asked about the results of the cat scan. Both her and her assistant made it clear that my appointment, for that day, was for a procedure, and not the time to ask questions, so they refused to answer any question. Understandably, urinating blood daily, I had many fears, concerns, and questions that they rudely refused to address. They assured me that they will answer all my questions at my consult appointment on December 5, 2022. However, during the cystoscope, she told me that everything looked fine.
Understandably I had many questions for Doctor Jankowski When I arrived for the consult appointment on December 5, 2022. Incredibly, I didn't get to meet with the doctor, instead I met with the physician's assistant, Megan McKinney. She too was extremely rude and short with her answers. She assured me that based upon Doctor Jankowski's test and evaluation, everything was fine and that I should just follow up in 6 months. I'm 71 years old and can typically tell when I'm given a B/S story and Megan McKinney was the classic example a someone who didn't not know what she was talking about!
My impression with Jersey Urology Group and their incompetent Doctor Jankowski, her useless PA Megan McKinney, left many unanswered questions. Megan McKinney's rudeness and lack of compassion for my medical condition left me feeling as though I was mistreated, disrespected, and possibly, misdiagnosed!
I went for my second opinion just 16 days after Doctor Jankowski performed the first cystoscope at Jersey Urology Group. The new doctor recommended the I repeat the cystoscope. When I asked about any numbing solution for the procedure, they told me that "every patient that has the procedure receives the numbing lidocaine solution". Yet Jersey Urology Group makes the patient pay for the lidocaine to numb the area!
Unbelievably, the new doctor found the signs of cancer that Doctor Jankowski missed. He respectfully answered all my questions the day of the procedure, and then scheduled surgery for December 23, 2022. Had I not gone for a second opinion, and I had waited the 6 months the Doctor Jankowski and her PA had recommended, chances are that the bladder cancer would have progressed and possibly could have killed me.
BEWARE, this is gross medical treatment by Jersey Urology Group, specifically Doctor Jankowski and her PA Megan McKinney. Their actions can possibly be described as performing "medical malpractice" and they could cost you your life! read more
